Ohanaeze calls on EFCC to arrest Nwobodo
January 13
By Ugochukwu Alaribe
ABA—Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to arrest the former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo over his involvement in the controversial $2 billion arms procurement fund.
Nwobodo, who was named by former NSA, Sambo Dasuki, to have received N500 million from the fund, has since defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, a move believed to shield himself from prosecution.
Addressing journalists in Aba, Abia State National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Mazi Okechukwu, urged Nwobodo to immediately disclose the beneficiaries of the money given to him.
“We charge Nwobodo to let Nigerians know how he disbursed the N500 million which he received from Sambo Dasuki. He should take clue from Dasuki as well as Chief Tony Anenih, who have since disclosed how they shared money made available to them. If he fails to disclose the beneficiaries within the next 21 days, appropriate actions should be taken to ensure that he faces the full wrath of the law.
“Since Nwobodo said the money was meant for former President Goodluck Jonathan’s mobilization campaign in the South-East, he should let the world know how he disbursed the money and all the South-East leaders and politicians who received money from him and how much he gave to each of them. If he pocketed the money, he should also let the world know.”
The youth group maintained that defecting to the APC would not save anybody, who had participated in sharing the nation’s commonwealth.
“We are aware that Nwobodo has decamped to APC, and we agree with Nigerians, even members of the APC, who have viewed his defection as a ploy to evade justice.
“The EFCC should not hesitate to arrest all the people, who had looted our commonwealth. All we ask is that the Commission should be thorough in its arrest and prosecution. No looter should go unpunished.”

I ask Ohanaeze, how much did Nwobodo stole?? Ordinary 100million that can't buy a house in Banana Island or Lekki, and they want this great son of the soil to be arrested.

Ohanaeze is a Tinubu propaganda body, just like World Igbo Union.

Arresting him is not the paramount issue. Prosecution in line with due process is what they should clamor for.

Really

What of Peter Obi who ran away under the guise of "PHD" cos PDP lost & he had no platform in either state or federal to boss up on his people anymore

There is no difference between them & i never liked Nwobodo & that ain't changing anytime soon..

This just reveals one fact that all these ethnic lamentations of marginalisation and persecution are just driven by politics and nothing more.

- Metuh-selah received N400 million and Ohaneze and some other dubious Igbo groups are calling and protesting for his release 'because he is our brother'
- Now Nwobodo decamps to APC and Ohaneze is calling for his arrest forgetting that Nwobodo is also an Igbo 'statesman.'

Now do we still need a soothsayer to tell us this is just purely a PDP vs APC issue?.... PDP seems to have been hiding all these Igbo groups to fan the embers of ethnic division just to promote their cause. God pass them!

You are really funny.
Metuh received money from a supposed corrupt govt, where is he now?
Nwobodo received money from a supposed corrupt govt, where should he be?
Both Metuh and Nwobodo are statemen so i don't see the reason why EFCC should not probe him or has Apc become a coven for saints? When igbos say Marginalization you guys say blame your statemen. When igbos blame their statemen you say it is because he joined Apc. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Are you insinuating that Nwobodo has not been arrested because he crossed to APC last wkend?... I was only pointing out an obvious trend where you defend Metuh for being Igbo and now have suddenly forgotten that Nwobodo is also Igbo because he joined the APC. I was only pointing out that the allegiance of these protesting groups seem to be more to political [arty than tribe.

By the way, Nwobodo will be investigated and forced to cough out the N100million.
