Deals agreed as Arsenal close in on three new signings ahead of Liverpool clash By Editor Wayne Veysey Arsenal have agreed deals for three new January signings after adding emerging Nigerian pair to incoming midfielder Mohammed Elneny. Football Insider revealed earlier this week that the Gunners were in advanced talks to recruit midfield sensations Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze to their academy. This comes as they finalise the paperwork on the deal for Elneny, who has now been granted a UK visa as he flies to London to complete his £5.2million move. An Arsenal recruitment source has told Football Insider that the London giants have reached an agreement on a double deal for Nwakali and Chukwueze and will secure their signings before the end of the January transfer window. The north Londoners have beaten Manchester City to the signings of the exciting teenage pair. The Premier League giants were among a number of leading European clubs who scouted Nwakali and Chukwueze in last year’s Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Chile. Nwakali, 17, was named as player of the tournament, while Chukwueze, 16, also delivered a series of promising displays for Nigeria. The deals are likely to be held up while the pair await work permits to play in the UK. Done deal: Arsenal are set to announce Mohamed Elneny as a January signing Nwakali is able to sign a professional contract as he has already turned 17, but Chukwuze will only be able to sign a scholarship deal. Arsenal have been given the clearance to complete the signing of Elneny from Basle, with Arsene Wenger admitting on Monday that the deal had not been finalised as quickly as he had hoped. “We are positive this week it can happen,” the Arsenal manager said. “There are a lot of work permit problems and other paperwork. As long as it’s not definitely signed, you have to be cautious. But I’m optimistic about the case.” http://www.footballinsider247.com/news/deals-agreed-as-arsenal-close-in-on-three-new-signings 1 Like |

Kelechi Iheanacho, Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimhen have made TMW's list of 100 Great Young Talents.....Chuba Akpom is there too, but he's a nonentity so we refuse to identify with him. The NFF should make a policy of Foreign born Nigerians should declare their interest before we go for them. I find it irritating that we are convincing players to play for the National team. Ibe's case was too embarassing. Any player that wants to play for us should declare his interest, if not we should focus on our millions of devoted talents, home and abroad. Icon4s: 2 Likes |

He said the towering Nigeria defender, who is on loan from Cardiff City, possesses the right character to help the team battle for survival in the English League One. The central defender is on loan to gain more playing time and the coach was delighted with Ajayi’s positive response when agreement was reached for the loan extension during the week. “I was pleased to get Semi sign up quickly because there were a few clubs who had also expressed an interest in taking him on loan,” Davies told the Crewe website. “He has done well for us and we feel there is more to come from him. There is still room for improvement and that comes from playing in the games and the experience he is being exposed to. “He was happy to stay and that was important. He has settled in quickly, he is a good lad and he wanted to stay and help. “I had a chat with him and said it is going to be a fight. We are fighting a relegation battle and it is going to be tough, but he said he wanted to stay and fight. That is important because we will need characters like him. I know he has the character to stand up to that and will give it his all. “It has been good to have kept him and that has given us a boost.” africanfootball.com/news/601211/Crewe-delighted-to-extend-Semi-Ajayi-loan 1 Like |
