2016 Budget Details Out. Check Out Some Of The Highlights. by Image123(m): 1:42pm On Jan 14, 2016
The Ministry of Budget and Planning has finally given out a breakdown of the 2016 appropriation bill. It is available on their website. If the National Assembly wants it, they should virtually 'come and take it'.
The total allocation(all figures are in naira) for the Presidency is 39,124,978,811. The National Assembly gets 115billion no jara, the Ministry of Defence gets 429,098,182,742, Ministry of Interior gets 498,453,097,241, INEC gets 45,000,000,000 just a little bit lower than Ministry of Information and Culture. The NSA's total allocation is 90,350,068,052, they better not Dasukilize the thing. The Federal Ministry of Agriculture's total allocation is to get 76,753,672,273, while Finance allocation is a whooping 1,486,512,101,559. Is that a mistake or what? All these mistakes in FINANCE odikwa risky, very costly. Ministry of Transportation is allocated 215,797,393,980 while Works, Power and Housing allocated 467,645,043,369. The Ministry of Budget and National Planning also allocated a surprising 1,156,332,146,233. Water resources is allocated 44,206,418,733, hopefully they drill boreholes cheaper than 78million and sign checks. It's not okay to spend 44billion in a year and not get water. The Federal Ministry of Education is allocated 483,666,376,895, while Ministry of Health is 257,382,151,746.

In the Presidency, some of the highlights asides the usual,
The State house Medical Center is allocated 3,890,629,221. This is asides the 1billion naira clinic to be built at the National Assembly. At this, nobody should fly abroad to treat catarrh using taxpayers' money again oh. The EFCC is to get 11,222,214,471, so their body go dey hot well well. ICPC also gets 4,618,378,795 by the way. Hope this guys can get more than 15billion from economic thieves, otherwise we should just scrap them and improve the efficiency of the Police and Judiciary. The Office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the President is to get 179,247,201. 179million naira, we need the names of those who resume and close in that office or the money can be put to better use.

Okay, to the little drops of water that make a mighty ocean in the Presidency. While i'm been harsh and scrutinizing with the Presidency, it should trickle down to other sectors. Let the NASS also give details of their budget. When the whole head is okay, it should affect the rest of the body.
Electicity charges- 50,369,359

Purchase of computers- 27,500,000
Purchase of canteen/kitchen equipment- 89,172,300
Purchase of recreational facilities- 39,075,000
My grouse mainly is that these things keep appearing every year. They are buying new computers and vehicles and pots every year. yet there is a lot of money allocated for maintenance and repair of these new things, and for electricity bill and yet for fuel. Yet, the same people planning these will be yapping about "we need to cut recurrent expenditure". Is it God or Angel that will come down to cut it?

Rehabilitation/repairs of office buildings- 3,914,197,062

Annual routine maintenance of villa facilities by JBN- 3,914,197,062
Linking of cable to drivers' restroom at villa admin- 322,421,971. What kind of cable is so expensive to link, is it from heaven they are linking it?

Purchase of BMW salon cars and jeeps- 340,000,000

Nothing much from the office of the vice president for operation costs. Main reason while Mr President should sit tighter as the buck lies at his doorstep literally.
Local travel and transport(others)- 12,808,885
International travel and transport:others- 13,995,039. This man appears to be going nowhere compared to the President. Just sit down and do the work, or is taking keke and lapping. Just kidding though, over 25million naira to transport oneself and colleagues/family is not a bad deal.

Office stationeries/computer consumables- 55,676,161
Printing of non-security documents- 16,683,193
Residential rent- 22,321,880
Motor vehicle fuel cost- 14,115,896
Cooking gas/ fuel cost- 2,491,156

Satellite broadcasting access charges- 11,104,339
Office stationeries/computer consumables- 44,417,357
Printing of non-security documents- 2,591,012
Printing of security documents- 2,220,868. People like Olisa Metuh must be made to know that these things are very costly and not just be easily allowed to eat these documents and stationeries. There is already budget for feeding.
Refreshment and meals- 14,805,786
Purchase of office buildings- 2,550,003,881
Construction of new head office building- 2,550,003,881

i'm hoping that building will indeed be constructed and completed when money has been budgeted for it. 2.5billion naira, EFCC.

Just taking a quick break from My Beans and Yam to ask a question

In every state in the country provision of water is the responsibility of the state govt, so how come we have a ministry of water resources at the Federal level? What exactly do they do?

Ok back to my lunch grin

Good talk, bro

Same with ministry of agriculture, both federal and States, suppose to have agric farms all over the place. Like Federal government farms limited, mechanized farms of federal government limited, why all these ministry paper based?

It so shameful that the Federal government is talking about diversifying the economy through agriculture, but no single practical steep towards that.

If there is any government farm(s) in existence, kindly let us know,

Very true bro, let's just hope more people start to question these things. It's a shame that our so called media seem blind to these kind of things.

It is like you don't know that the budget needs to be passed first at the national assembly before it can be posted on the federal website.

It is on the federal website. When it is passed, a new/amended one will also be posted on their website.
