Dasuki's Continual Incarceration, A Ploy To Gag Him From Speaking To Nigerians by OLADD: 7:59am On Jan 14, 2016
It was a well hatched plot. First, his home was invaded in a commando style reminiscent of the United States' invasion of Iraq in search of shadowed Weapons of Mass Destruction less than four days after vacating office as the National Security Adviser. Humiliated and ruffled, he was placed under tumultuous house arrest and eventually clamped into DSS detention. After spending days in gaol, he was reluctantly dragged before a magistrate court knowing fully that such court do not have jurisdiction over his case.

Next was the charge of money laundering and illegal diversion of $2.1billion arms fund. Twice he was granted bail by courts of competent jurisdiction and twice he was prevented from going home. His accuser's reason for disregarding courts' bail orders was premised on discovery of his involvement in fresh crimes which were never made public nor tabled before the court up till today. However, he was subjected to unprecedented media trial and demonised for "diverting funds meant for military equipment and fight against Boko haram"

That's the story of Dasuki, the nation's NSA in the outgone Jonathan administration.

While the media landscape was saturated with Dasuki's "unpardonable sins", he was bluntly denied the opportunity of telling his story to the generality of Nigerians and this stokes up the question: Is Buhari afraid of the consequence(s) that may arise from Dasuki's explosion? Is the ruling party or the presidency afraid of security and political implications of Dasuki letting the cats out of the bag and spilling the beans? Is there anything the president is hiding from the public from the arms purchase probe? Are members of the ruling party involved in the arms fund scandal? Have we been told the truth about Mr. President's SUV and $300,000 allegations? Are there more revelations that may soil Buhari's integrity and anti corruption crusade?

We cannot but justifiably conclude at this juncture that the presidency is acting a script well crafted in ensuring that Dasuki is not afforded the luxury of speaking to Nigerians and the world at large but how long can this be achieved?

I concur!

The moment Dasuki said "Eh Buhari also ate the yam... Infact with Chinese Chop Sticks" we've not heard from him Again!... We only hear what Magu Magu wants us to hear!

I'm not surprised though seeing he revealed dullard got $300,000 and Two SUV's (Armoured)... I understand the presidency would wanna gag him from popping the rest of the Worm-filled cans!

No sir. I don't hate the president but I hate deceit and propaganda. Today it's Dasuki, tomorrow it might be anybody. The nation will continue to move in circles if we continue this way.

In which capacity is Dasuki expected to speak to Nigerians? As an elected official or an appointed official?

In which country do you see an accused speaking to the nation? Dasuki has lawyers, and he can surely well speak to anybody (personal or media) through them. Or have you heard that he has been denied access to his lawyers?

You will be the first to wail when Dasuki starts speaking, because the possibility of him fingerìng PDP members is high than others.

Trash.

Wailers can wail till 2019, it won't stop Buhari from winning the election and rule till 2023.

Dasuki was granted bail by two courts out of three courts where he was charged. The 3rd one, FHC Abuja didn't grant him bail, so what do you expect to hear from him?
His trial is set to begin later this month and he will be free to spill whatever you think he has to spill.

d fact dat buari is insisting on trying dasuki secretly away from public eyes is enough reason to suspect dat buari is not sincere about dasuki case. if buari has noting to hide why is he opting for secret trial nigerians who believe in transparency n justice should resist any attempt by buari govt to try dasuki secretly. since d govt opted for media trial, dasuki must be tried in an open court.
Op is right, d continued detention of dasuki under d guise of fighting corruption is anoda indication of buari's insincererity n fear of he's involvement after recieving $300,000 from dasuki. buari govt fear of releasing dasuki is never about d fear of dasuki jumping bail. buari is afraid of wat dasuki will say to d public when released.

It is sad that you do not understand the difference between "accused" and "guilty", as if you did, you wouldn't reply with the above to my statement.

He is to speak in the court. Having been accused of so many issues he is entitled to speak and be heard on the courts and not necessarily to security agencies detaining him. Why has that not happened yet? Why the delay?

No law bars him from speaking to the nation via a press conference. Under what capacity did Buhari speak to the nation when he was seeking political office? Under what capacity did he address the nation when playing down his Certificate saga?

The court is not the only platform to speak on issues of this magnitude. Why are the presidency and EFCC speaking to the press other than limiting their own stories to the court? Dasuki should be granted unrestricted access to the public.

Very funny. Even if he is charged to court, he doesn't necessarily have to speak to anybody except if his lawyers want to put him on the stands or the prosecution wants to grill him.

The job of speaking is for his lawyers! His lawyers can speak for him anytime, any day seeing as they have access to him. Whatsoever he wants to tell Nigerians today, he can say it to his lawyers and they would issue a press statement or whatever they want.

The essence is, Dasuki has not being prevented from speaking his mind. He has a freedom of speech, but his freedom of movement is what has been curtailed by being in detention.

And what has stopped him from issuing any Press Statement through his lawyers? Do you assume it is only by being physically present that people issue press statements?

If you cannot differentiate between a man with a valid detention order and one that is walking free on the streets, then I understand why you'd think Dasuki is being prevented from speaking to Nigerians.

You mean unending detention orders? Can't you read between the lines? The recycled court orders were meant to keep him permanently incommunicado. If the president is not afraid of Dasuki's freedom, he should stop waylaying him after every court bail.

And with regards to his lawyer's representation, how many Nigerians would take his lawyer's statement as authentic?
Nigerians are earnestly waiting to hear from the horse's mouth.

That's not always the case. Buhari had to personally call a press conference in an attempt to clarify his position on the WAEC Certificate scandal.

his lawyer have denied the allegations on dasuki and have only said he will only speak in the court. Now what is holding them from taking him to the court.

Very funny! How many times did you "hear from the horses mouth" when thieves are being convicted, did you therefore say it was improper since yoyu didn't "hear from the horses mouth". Or did you hear Anini confess at a Press Conference before he was jailed?
