So it takes a refurbished gunboat,"means and connections" to prosecute a war against a state?
The way some of u reason sometimes is beyond comprehension.

Bros, use your brain. How did they fight the FG to a standstill in 2008?

Believe it or not, Tompolo right now is more powerful than he was in 2008. If you are not from ND and did not follow the Freedom Fight don't diplay your ignorance.

Tompolo today is far richer and has acquired more weapons than he had in 2009. Do you remember that Nigerian territorial waters has the second worst case of piracy after Somalia? Those boys can bring in a rocket through the waters and nothing will happen, that's what I mean by the means and connections.

How did they get their guns before? Their associates that buy their illegal crude are some of the world's most wanted people? Do you know the size of the illegal arms trade? If you have not witnessed war, don't yap about like a kindergaten. We are not talking about firecrackers. All those spurring the NA to war should be careful of what they wish for.

We are in a recession and you want to fight a war with an undefeated war lord who is more powerful today than he was six years ago. The small money that we should use to develop the country would be used to prosecute the war? What about our soldiers that would be fighting wars on two fronts? Or the humanitarian cost of the war? A country must always pursue the most viable course of action that will lead to the least loss of lives of its citizenry. Right now, a war with Tompolo is not that course of action.

And you think war is about warships,
On whose lands will the war be fought,
His war ships will only make him easily identifiable like a sitting duck by fighter jets.
Highest our loss will be is swamp and land installations
Believe me tompolo can't even fight delta state not to talk of the federal republic of Nigeria.
What the government is cautious of is loss of innocent lives, not a nonentity like Tompolo

Small small e don det start...

Starting war with the government is unwise because the innocents will be the collateral damage..

Infortunately, those not living in dd region or many of d powerless will still be inciting ds very corrupt person against the govt even though he was sabotaging their well being.

LordAdam:

Yesterday, Tompolo distanced himself from the attacks.

Tompolo is in a quagmire. First, the success of the ND freedom fight was because there were a lot of groups with shared objectives fighting concurrently in different sections of the SS. Now, it is just Tompolo, and, if he was fighting, his reason for fighting would be for himself and not the region, which means he would not enjoy the wide support from the majority of militants.

Two, most of the militants are already enjoying a massive welfare package and will be less likely to return to the creeks because of one commander's selfish interests.

But with that said, we should all remember that Tompolo has been receiving at least N1b from the government every month in personal welfare packages and defense contracts since Amnesty started in 2009. That is aside the obvious bunkering he has been involved in as a side gig.

Also, remember how he bought a war ship sometime ago? The fact is that at the moment, Tompolo has the money, the means, and the connections to prosecute a war on the Nigerian state without even been in the country. With the supply glut, low oil prices, and an army that is reeling from a challenging BH war, Nigeria will not be as ready to fight this renewed conflict as they were earlier under Yaradua.

But then again, Tompolo can't just submit himself to the authorities. The authorities have a poor record of respecting the judiciary. That is the quagmire. Once again, thousands will likely die because of the interests and actions of a few.

-Lord

If only they will understand this.

All because the easy money has stopped flowing. This is what happens when you pay touts to maintain peace, sooner or later it unravels. The army should be called in to deal with these touts ASAP. They have NO legitimate reason for this.

have you not heard that there has been calls by the ijaws against the government bordering on the fact that the oil and gas well in the ss are ownd by hausa people and operated by multinationals headed by yoruba and locating these oil company headquarters and allied services in lagos where taxes are also paid.

the pmb government should without delay>

2.Arrest and prosecute fashola and ameachi duo who have been implicated by probe panels for theft.
3.Visit the Halliburton matter that has seen four high profile Americans get jail terms while the architect and planner in Nigeria is the APC navigator.
