Exercise and adopting a healthy diet and lifestyle is the only way!

You can also start using shea and cocoa butter for the stretch marks...

May God be with you wink

Pap is good o. I make the twins pap by myself. Pap and soya. I don't mix cray or nuts cos of allergies. And they drink it as if say... Lol. They only started eating amala yesterday. The only foods they've been eating for two months straight now is pap and dodomie(indomie) as well as other little things go that come from our plate. #lazymom

Someone just introduce semo to me too. The watery form. Made it for them, added milk and whoosh... Bowl empty (except only twin girl ate it while Bobo was suckin his thumb)

I gave them carrots and expensive broccoli I bought... Wasted!

But they can drink orange till they pass out cheesy

Brocoli bawo? you sef fit chop that thing LOL see this iya ibeji oh!

Please elaborate on this semo meme, do you just mix with hot water and serve? or turn on the fire like amala etc etc

As for that sucking thing, you sure he doesn't resort to it from hunger? Though i know many thumb suckers do it out of habit. Try to distract him when he starts sucking, with a toy or biscuit.

if everything fails- TAKE IT TO THE LORD IN PRAYER cheesy

Have you administered PCM for the fever? It may also help to knock him to sleep! For the cold you can use eucalyptus oil to unblock the nose. Pour some on a face towel and hang it on his chest so he can inhale it... that should help. Massaging the chest with a warm towel too may de-congest the chest!

Also try and Place him in a quiet room and rock him gently maybe all the distractions are not letting him settle down. Backing with a wrapper usually will settle many babies who are restless.

Instead of the ordinary pap from only semi or corn , I have one that is richer in nutrients and no child will ever refuse it no matter what.

Some of the ingredients include

wheat
tamba
fonio
millet
tiger nut
ginger

etc

Its very cheap.

Look up at my previous post you'll see the pix.

Thank me later.

Good morning mama's....i just gave birth via C-section a week ago and am suffering from gas badly, I don't have appetite so the major thing I take is tea. Could it be d milk causing it?
Also my baby refuses to burp and it's making her very gassy and fussy. Am even thing of changing her milk from Nan to aptamil if it will help. D only time she poops well is if I press her tummy wit warm water. Am just confused jare.

Switch to aptamil. It's about the best formula in the market. Are you breastfeeding as well? Please try and breastfeed so matter how short. I know it's painful with the CS scar but try. That way you can adopt "combination feeding" (breast milk and formula).

You shouldn't make the milk for your baby too "thick". I always go one scoop less than what's recommended on the label and it has worked well for my baby. - no constipation or any tummy issues. For example, if it's 6scoops recommended on the pack for 200ml, I use 5 scoops.

Regarding gas - try and get Trebor or any sweet with mint. It really helps. You should try and eat. Experiment with anything - vegetables, fish, oats and even the dreaded pap.

Are you taking pepper soup? If yes, you might have to cut down a bit. Spicy food also causes bloating and gas.

I can relate to the pains and discomfort from CS. Pele dear. Don't worry, it's only a phase and it will pass.

let me say something strange...

In UK, the midwives and nutritionists actually advice that we stop giving cerelac to babies shocked shocked ;

According to them, it contains mere calories and it's better used during starvation shocked grin when a child is not able to feed well

According to them, If 5 babies walk through the door, they are able to identify which baby is on cerelac cuz such babies are usually big which we Africans equate to good living. #not necessarily. Again, they say it triggers diabetes at a later date. Tufiakwa. But dunno how true this is.

So my dear Modath, me I no dey give cerelac oooo. At 6 months, my young chap weighed 8.5kg coming from 3.1kg birth weight oo shocked shocked he had bursted the weight chart and I was advised to look for a gym that accepts 6 months old. Na that gym I still dey look for since that time oo

What they advise is exactly what nurse Kaffy is doing - delay solids till 6 months when he is fully ready. At that point, introduce him to real food but in mashed or paste form, from there, he graduates to full solid. However, the breast milk/formula should continue but of course, quantity would reduce from 6 months when solid is introduced.

***(caveat) i am not saying mamas should not use cerelac ooo, just regurgitating what the medical team told me. I have purposely refrained from talking about it before now make Nestle no come arrest me.

Kimoni. Please do you mind sharing the meals you introduced to your baby after 6 months.

What you posted is exactly what my health visitor advised.

I have a book from my health visitor on advisable list of food after 6 months, et al but it will be great having practical ideas from you. Thanks.

sweets I hv successfully minimised my son's sucking.. WITH PLASTER! not the regular one o! the type the use in hospitals. . its wrapped I blue nd yellow plastic. I used to wrap the finger like 5 times .. long wraps o! the boo will sit the it and use his 6 teeth to remove them one after the other. so I made it tighter. whoops.. he has stopped sucking during the day and he sucks onces in a while at night.. I decided to free him snc whn he is awake he doesn't suck. whn I hv the time I will resume the plastering again..
* at some point, whn I bring out the plaster, my son will submit his finger without hassles.. and the plaster will last for 3 days o stats.. b4 I started changing it everyday
*after a week, my boy started forgetting. . and will only suck whn he is asleep nd he doeant want to wake up yet.. I figured it was out of reflex..
*it cost me 3 sleepless nights with lots of pinches , slaps, blows..due to frustration
*whn ever I pukk off the plaster, he smiles nd feels the finger with his other hands, pulls it nd screams. . *like this finger is still in existence*
* I DDNT GIVE UP! COS HE FRUSTRATED ME
* MY BOY NOW EATS EVERYTHING ND ANYTHING THAT'S IN A PLATE ESPECIALLY JOLLOF RICE..

Sayo dear, some people will come here and scream blue murder and rant about how indomie is bad for babies, it contains chemicals, blah blah.

To each their own. Every mum has their own preference on what type of meal they deem suitable for their child.

To me, I am absolutely no fan of pap and yes, my baby won't be having any of it. That's my choice! Other mums have also come here to also express their dislike for pap. So why that poster will want to 'attack' me for my choice, beats me. undecided

That said, broccoli is disgusting! grin Tastes like rubber. grin

Indomine cooked with fish, eggyolk, pureed carrots nd green peas nd cheese isnt rubbish.. how it is cooked matters..
best balanced diet ever..

FexCathy as regards formula for infants, it really depends on d baby and ur pocket. This is because some babies react to some formula.

As regards aptamil, it's a UK based formula and according to health Professionals in d UK, amongst all other formula it's d closest to breastmilk cos of some nutritional content. U can't see aptamil in US shops (at least I av never seen maybe others av seen).

In d US, similac, enfamil, gerber and d likes r termed best as well cos of d nutritional contents.

In Nigeria, Nan is termed best (it's d most recommended by health professionals).

So my dear it actually depends. If u try aptamil and ur baby doesn't react to it, then u can continue but pls follow d instructions written on d container.

Also not everyone can afford these milk cos they r pricey in naija. So some pple just stick to Nan and d likes. My son started with similac but had to change to aptamil when I started buyin similac for 12k and he finishes it in one week. Told my hubby it was suicide mission to spend 12k every week on formula alone. I almost changed to Nan when getting stage 2 aptamil was like searchin for a needle inside grass in darkness but was lucky to get someone comin from d UK thus stocked up d quantity he ll use till 1yr 6months.

I hope my lengthy explanation helped
