Gurus in the house pls help me out on this. I will be traveling to UK this coming March for 10 day vacation. I have been to uk many times. My nephew wants to travel with me. He hasn't travel out of the country before. He has a job, the statement of account showing almost 700k. I will be responsible for hotel accommodation and feeding for both of us while in UK. He will buy his own ticket. What documents do I need to give to him to support his visa application? Also do I need to write any letter. |

travelpoint:Since you are partly supporting him. I think you will give him document concerning your work or business, your statement of account too. Ask @justwise and @ frontpagelawyer to throw more light to your question |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 4:06pm On Jan 16, 2016 |
Sunny4Gold: @travelpoint. Technically, visa officer officers are not really bothered about applicants closing balance, but history of the account (in flow, out flow, salaries and wages) are all taken into consideration which can also reflects the true financial status of applicants. Since you're travelling together and you are also responsible for his hotel and feeding during your visit, you should use caution when filling the visa form. For your Nephew, The cost of accommodation and the cost of living expenses should both be £0 Then for this question "Is someone other than you paying for all or part of your trip" Yes Please select what the relationship is of the person who is contributing to the payment for your trip: Uncle or Aunt. How much will they be paying towards your trip: (calculate the cost of accommodation and his feeding" but if you're staying together, make sure the hotel is suitable for two or more persons, then attach the booking confirmation. And for this question "Explain why they are paying towards the cost of the trip" the onus is on you to convince the ECO why you are sponsoring him to the UK for holidays. Another question "What is the total amount in GBP" do the calculation yourself, accommodation + feeding. Having said all the above, the ECO might still have doubt why you have to sponsor your nephew to the UK on holidays. To submit his application, you'll also provide some relevant documents e.g. employment, statement of account, letter to ECO explaining why you are paying for his accommodation and feeding. |

Please ppl I will like to ask this doubting question. An Uncle who is a British citizen is sending me an invitation letter without any supporting documents, he claimed he will include his contact in the letter for ECO to contact him if need arise. Pls is this possible with just the letter alone ? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 7:31pm On Jan 16, 2016 |
lasisi69: You're confused. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 7:38pm On Jan 16, 2016 |
Bostin: Unfortunately the UK doesn't work like that. The invitation letter is not sufficient. If your uncle is providing accommodation. He needs to send you his Mortgage bill, utility bill, copy of his passport data page with clear evidence of his immigration status in the UK. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 5:47am On Jan 17, 2016 |
idoo4love: On your part, you will need your six months pay slip (if employed), six months bank statement, employment letter/work documents, introduction letter from company, leave letter and other documents to proof your ties to Nigeria, this may be property documents, shares documents, inheritance, marriage certificate, children birth certificate etc. For your financial accounts, make sure there are regular activities and no money lodgement. You must also demonstrate to the ECO that you will not become a financial burden to the UK Government and you'll return back to your country at the end of your visit without breaking immigration laws. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 6:29am On Jan 17, 2016 |
AZUH: Did you register the company for this purpose? If your answer is NO, why the rush? A three weeks old company? Your application won't fly from experience gathered so far. Visa officers are well trained to know that just anybody can register a company in Nigeria and claim the title "ceo" What is your company's financial standing? I asked because the consulate uses your company's tax clearance certificate to evaluate and assess the strength of your company and its financial position. The value of all your significant assets, as well as all your significant liabilities will also be evaluated. I'm afraid you're unlikely to be qualified for a visiting visa due to your company's financial standing. I'll advise you concentrate on your legitimate business for now, build a profile, keep transaction receipts, contract papers, maintain a healthy company's account, all "major" inflows must be accounted for, also work out a salary structure for yourself. Even if you intend to apply in September, I doubt you'll be granted a visiting visa, but maybe a business visa which must be significant and beneficial to your company. @justwise, what is your take on this? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by abnot: 9:42am On Jan 17, 2016 |
Hi people , just to clarify : 1. Does the question "How much do you have for this trip" mean same as "how much I have in my account" ? 2. "Have you ever worked for any organisation (state or non-state) listed below? Armed Forces (including National Service)Government (Central or Local)" HAVING DONE THE NYSC PROGRAM. AM I MEANT TO SELECT YES TO THIS QUESTION? |
