soloniger:Local institutional investors are buying because some stock valuations are super attractive . However , they must be ready to hold for a long period as they are buying from foreign institutional investors who are not tired of selling as they just want out . Implication is we won't see high prices soon until they (foreign investors ) decide to come back . However if you are fine with the dividends by all means go ahead and do as you please. The only problem is at the end of next year when local institutional investors fund managers are supposed to report they gains for the year, we might witness them selling off . Its like when brokers decide to flood the market with stocks , you are on your own . for those who want to own the companies like their own, I will say start buying in tranches.if you are there for JIJO , sorry the market is not for you 7 Likes 1 Share |

Market is currently bloody, one can buy the whole of Skye Bank for about N15 billion which is about the cost of 30 average houses on Banana Island. Buy the whole of FBNH for about N130 billion. Buy the whole of UACN and her subsidiaries like CAPL, UPDC, Grand cereals, Livestock feeds, Portland paints, UAC foods etc for N33 billion. Buy the whole of UAC property and their real-estate portfolio all over the country for just N8.5 billion. These are definitely interesting times. I have lost money, but I pray this trend will continue till the end of this quarter. 3 Likes 1 Share |

manie:Manie, do you know if Skye Bank has been able to raise the N30b they're looking for? They will need to create 30b or more new shares to raise that money in present market condition, and where will that leave the present shareholders? That is the main reason skye is sinking towards unitybank in the car park area, on top of the general down market 1 Like 1 Share |

Another horror is that Fbnh, with all its Nigerian and African branches, may indeed dip below N3/unit (and it tends to drag the whole market down with it), b4 it finally bottoms out. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by manie(m): 10:37am On Jan 17, 2016 |
Tritri: It depends on what you are looking for, either capital appreciation or dividend income. I think the current prices are attractive, but they can become more attractive. I hope to get into the market this week. |

With the current wave of 'tsunami' hitting the stock market, this trend is expected to continue for a while but not through out the year. As a result, investors need to thread carefully and home in on stocks with strong and quality fundamentals. If i am to advice, as some people have been asking me, my stock pick would be; Okomu oil Presco, Wapco, Dangote Cem CCNN FBNH GTB Zenith Nestle For long term investment >1year, best penny stocks include; Transcorp Tigerbrand Oando Eterna Diamond bank 1 Like |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Chibuking81(m): 12:34pm On Jan 17, 2016 |
With 5 million naira, you can buy 10 million units share of Transcorp at 50 kobo, then sell it 50 million naira at 5 naira only, 5 hundred thousand naira only will buy 1 million units share at 50 kobo and to be sell for 5 million naira at #5 per share only, 50 thousand naira will buy 100 hundred thousand units share at 50 kobo and to be sell for #500,000 at #5 per share only. Both big and small have money to make. Am patiently waiting for many share at 50 kobo Junction. |

Coolcash1:is fbnh not a penny stock? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Coolcash1: 12:52pm On Jan 17, 2016 |
Intendy: The quality of the stock wont make me regard it as such compared to the ones mentioned. At current price one might want to be forced to describe it as penny but not in the category of ''penny'' we analysts are used to. When activities begin to pick, you expect the stock performance to improve as movement is always high unlike transcorp or diamond bank |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Coolcash1: 12:55pm On Jan 17, 2016 |
Chibuking81: Chi, with current trend your pessimism is not out of place. For stocks in same category as the index stock its not impossible. However, there are some stocks due to their resilience and quality would never neck at such price |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by zendi: 1:15pm On Jan 17, 2016 |
angelo82:Which leaves them cash strapped. So dont base any decision on the eps you're seeing, because they will need every kobo in their hand. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by angelo82: 1:17pm On Jan 17, 2016 |
zendi: I am not a fan of this stock but their management always come out on top of their game even in the midst of controversy. |
