Good morning VO! On Monday, the 11th of January 2016, I dropped off my police clearance certificate (from Italy) at the DHL collection center as requested by the consulate. I've been emailing the consulate since 2 days now to know if the consulate has received it from the DHL collection center but no response. Pls I need your help to help me check if the police clearance has been delivered.

Hello Visa Officer,

Its been long since i wrote you last time. I hope you are in good health and doing well. VO my IR1 interview is on 21 Jan but I am short of few documents and I am worried about that it would delay my Visa. Documents I am short are as below

1. Signed I-864 of My Petitioner
2. Signed I-864 and I-864A of Joint Sponsor
3. Irs Transcript for 2014
4. W-2 Forms and 1099 Forms

The last checklist which I received from NVC it stated that my joint sponsor I-864 and I-864 A has some errors i have screen shots of that checklist kindly guide me whether i need to provide only these missing documents or should i have to present the corrected I-864 forms with original signatures. One other thing my Petitioner had sent me the Complete Individual Tax returns instead of IRS Transcript but it has no W-2 or 1099 forms. Secondly my Joint Sponsor is self employed as she is business partner with her husband so which out of W-2 and 1099 applies to her and also they filed for 2014 Tax return in October what I have read on google is W-2 and 1099 couldn't be access till next July is it true or not. Kindly also guide me Is this Individual Tax return would be enough to be taken to interview or if i dont take any financial document NVC still sent my file to Consulate so i think they wont ask me about that or would they Thanks

When we receive it we will continue with the processing of your visa. Please does this mean they will ISSUE my visa as soon as they receive the police certificate from DHL?

We won't need the W-2 or 1099s if you have provided the IRS Transcripts; we will also need transcripts for personal income tax for the previous year. They can't count their business gains as personal gains unless they claimed them as such on their taxes. You can either send the updated information to the Consulate or bring it to your interview.

If it is a non-immigrant form it is probably a non-immigrant question. Please direct yourself to the correct forum.

I mean i dont have 2014 Transcript from IRS all I have is their Individual Tax Return 1040 forms so would i be needing W-2 or 1099 form or should i present that and ill be fine secondly I dont have AOS because original was sent to NVC and afterwards due to checklist we sent the copies of that too to NVC now we have nothing so is it necessary that i have to take AOS at the interview because I have none neither the copy nor the original. Thanks

Is there any talk of slowing down visas or evacuating in light of the lassa fever?

Dear CO,

I had a successful interview on 14th January, 2016 with case number LGS2015515008.
I am pregnant presently and expecting baby this month which I told the Visa Officer.
Please, I'll like to know how I can get my baby's visa because my visa category is F2a which qualifies my child as a derivative.
Do I get my baby's international passport and birth cert immediately baby arrives.

Thank you in anticipation as I look forward to hearing from you.

You need to look into the priority dates, which are governed by USCIS, as these change from month to month.

Get the transcript or get a joint sponsor. Anything that was put in your file will be in the file at the interview. Anything you bring to the interview can be used to update the file.

NVC is not the final authority - the interviewing VO is. If they need the document, which I am telling you they will want, you will be asked to provide it. Otherwise, bring the documents that you feel are necessary and if there are any delays you can then go request the documents that are being asked for.

You need to have them petition for a U.S. Immigrant Visa. You can start your search here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate.html

This matter may be complicated by the fact that your visa is already approved and it was likely assumed that you would be travelling before the child was born - you should contact the Consulate to discuss your particular issue.

Good morning everyone, VisaOfficer has departed Nigeria but it is clear that there are still many questions so I will make an effort to continue answering your questions!

I am a U.S. Foreign Service Officer working at the U.S. Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria. Like all of the VOs in Lagos, I handle both Non-Immigrant (NIV) and Immigrant Visa (IV) interviews. The purpose of this thread is to provide a forum for your questions about immigrant visas. My colleagues and I will make every effort to answer all questions within two business days.

Please note that we cannot answer questions about specific cases, except as based on the information provided here in this discussion thread. Any responses in this forum are not to be taken as legally binding, as they will be based only on what you tell us in your questions, not on the information in any actual case. While we will attempt to explain U.S. immigration policies, any opinions expressed are the personal views of the writer, and do not necessarily reflect the views of the United States Government.

We may not be able to respond to every post in this thread, and we will not answer abusive posts. Also, please don't send me private messages -- I don't even read them. If you need personal attention, please send an e-mail to LagosIV@state.gov.

There is a separate thread for Non-Immigrant Visa Questions, also handled by U.S. Foreign Service Officers serving in Nigeria, at https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening . Please use this thread right here solely for questions about Immigrant Visas and Diversity Visas.

Thanks.

You even quoted the post where it clearly states that this is a post for questions about immigrant visas, and then asked a non-immigrant question?

Thanks CO, I was interviewed at window 1. The CO asked me when I'll be due and I told him EDD given is next week. He said that means I'm in my 39th week and I said yes.
Though visa status still shows AP on CEAC.

I already sent a mail to LagosIv@state.gov, I'm yet to get a reply.

Sorry CO, I found this online. Does it apply to me ;
9 FAM 42.1 N1.1 Child Born After Issuance of Visa to
Parent
(CT:VISA-2226; 11-25-2014)
The child born after the issuance of a visa to a parent is not required to have a
visa if the child is:
(1) Born subsequent to issuance of an IV to the accompanying parent within
the validity of the parent’s immigrant visa; or
(2) Born during the lawful permanent resident mother’s temporary visit abroad
provided that (see 9 FAM 42.1 N2):
(a) Admission is within 2 years of birth; and
(b) Either accompanying parent is applying for readmission upon first
return after the birth of the child.

Thank you!

Maybe - If you receive the visa before the baby is born, it will apply. If the visa is delayed for any reason and the baby is born afterwards, we will probably have to re-open the case.

Good Morning and thank you for taking the time to answer our questions.

My US Citizen Mother filed a petition I130 for me, I am her unmarried son older than 21. I was unlawfully present in USA longer than a year, creating a 10 year bar. (however I was granted voluntary department by the immigration judge). I left USA on Nov 18 2008.

My i130 has been approved and around June 2015 I paid the Immigrant Visa and Affidavit of Support. My question is, what will it happen if I go to the interview before the 10 year penalty has been reached? Is my visa petition going to be denied? Will I have to create another i130 application and wait another 7 years for another visa to be available? Could my I130 application be placed on hold until I reach the 10 year penalty (Nov 19 2018)? Is there any case in which an immigrant visa is approved despite the fact the 10 years are not over yet?

What other options do I have available?

I appreciate your response and further assistance.
