Is President Buhari just waking up to the reality that Nigeria is broke #Was Nigeria not broke when Buhari budgeted 1.7 billion for feeding in Aso Rock? #Was Nigeria not broke when Buhari budgeted 19 billions as the amount that would be spent to cater for his welfare and that of his immediate family? #So Nigeria was not broke when Buhari budget close to 40 billion for the purchase of new fleet of BMW cars for himself and his cronies... #Nigeria is broke, but Buhari is still managing the 11 airplanes he inherited from GEJ and using 5.7 billion naira to maintain them every six months... One thing I know, those that perpetrated this evil by supporting and voting for Buhari would also join other Nigerians to suffer the misrule of Buhari... #Thanks... 3 Likes 1 Share |

OAUTemitayo: I seriously wonder why a lot of people are blaming the government for this act. Too many awoof things in Nigeria believe me. I wanted to deposit money into someone's account here in Deutschland (a local account) , but because I'm not a customer of the bank, I was told I'll pay 15€... Bank here charge 5€ on accounts every month. This is a country with good economy. Nigerians should understand that we can't expect anything good from government if we don't pay tax. 4 Likes |

Post here clearly show most of our youths don't read and don't know statutory sources of funds for the federal government. For those who don't know stamp duties. Is one of the taxes collected by FIRS on behalf of FG, but past government were totally reliant on free oil money and forgot about stamp duties. 5 Likes 1 Share |

It is a harsh tax, but understandable. Right now oil is at $28. In 2011 it was at $111 per barrel.Nigeria needs it to be at $123 per barrel to meet our daily needs. So,even as we grumble and regret voting APC last year....let's be honest. Even if PDP or APGA was in charge....we would still be in this mess. The palaver is that taxes are going up. And additionally, prepare for subsidies removal, and a host of other things. I reckon that by 2017.....there will be more tax increases. Obviously....we are running an austerity government. Good for Nigeria really....if you ask me.We should have done so back in 2007 when things were better. We are not a rich nation. 4 Likes |

PaulJohn1: Please describe Deutschland's infrastructure and government, and then describe Nigeria's infrastructure and government. I'm working my ass without electricity, bad roads, inflated housing cost, no portable water, no sewage, bad economy... the list goes on. You are here typing rubbish! While Fayemi has budgeted over 700m for a website upgrade in the new budget Plus why are you even in Deutschland, buhari clearly needs you more. Paul, face ya work o! 2 Likes |

mcnuel001: Well....it applies to everyone....and if PDP was in charge....the same thing would have happened. And while I want to blame GEJ for not saving....even if GEJ had saved, and won last year to boot.....it would have still been wise to increase taxes. Nigeria is not a rich nation. We should have accepted that fact long time ago. |
