seyewest: why have you decided to look for trouble for yourself? that could be a reason for them to interrogate you unnecessarily. ok equip yourself with answers to questions of why you have not entered through your poe and pray you dont meet an over zealous poe officer. |

seyewest:JFK is in order as long as you are legit. If for example your embassy POE were to be JFK and you were now entering through LAX, that would have been another ball game (things do change anyways) or if your reason for travel at interview becomes distant from why you are now showing up at any POE without solid explanation, there likely will be some issues too. Delta would have been the best since you are heading for ATL. I guess the fares are cheaper entering through JFK, that's why you are opting for that. How many hours do you have between arrival and the local flight? I normally pick at least 3hrs difference just in case. Fret not, I have done a flight as a first timer that I had to spend a night in New York, continued to DFW (was there in that city for two days) next morning via ATL before going to my IAH visa interview POE destination (and CBP saw all of these seeming contradictions without wahala). Only issue I had was confirmation from my host in H-town before I was allowed into New York, wasn't fun though, but I was clean and by extension up to it. Be armed with your return ticket oh. Safe trip bro. |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 8:06am On Jan 20, 2016 |
@seye you do not have a problem. Despite the fact that ATL is a POE, u can enter thru another poe if its more convenient for u. Just have. Your Ticket with u shikena. I'm sure u can answer your questions abi u no de understand oyibo phoenetics? |

fideco:it will not work, let the parent come and pick their child, that way , the complexity won't affect the child. Better-still, you two can attend the interview first for your visa and if successful, could then carry the child with a cover letter from the parent for the child's visa. 1 Like |

Greetings. Pls I want to ask u this question. If my B1B2 visa expires on March 30, 2016, when is the maximum time I can travel to the US ? In other words, with my visit visa expiring on the 30th of March, 2016, can I still use the same visa to travel and depart Nigeria on the 25th of March, 2016, ( 5 days before the visa expires ), and if yes, on my arrival at the POE, will I still likely be given 6 months at the POE ? Secondly, can someone visits the US twice in the space of 3 months apart, and spending like 10 days each on each visit ? Thanks |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by FASTLINK1: 1:44pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
tobithedancer:You will be given 6months as long as your visa is valid as at the time you arrived in the us but it is also advisable you renew your visa now as rule sometimes changes without prior notice. It always good to be on the safe side. You can renew your expiring visa in march. |

Greetings wonderful people! We are US LPR, got here through immigrant visa 2014. We are planning on having my mum for a visit around August-september, and also be good opportunity to take care of her (mum)for a while. My questions are: 1. what are the requirements(both our end and her end) for smooth application, successful interview and also the right time to apply? 2. Also she is not educated, how can she cope with interview? Thanks for your help. 1 Like |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 2:30pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
tobithedancer:The amount of time you will be stamed in is at the discretion of the CBP that attends to u. So nobody can comment on the likelihood or otherwise of you getting 6 months. People have gotten stamped in depsite an almost expired visa, others got stamped in for EXACTLY the time remaining on their visa. You can visit the US as many times as you possibly can. However, it is only reasonable that a red flag will be raised. So the issue is, what is your reason for the constant travel? If you have a valid verifiable reason, u will only be asked questions which u ought to be able to answer. If on the other hand , you cannot justify yourself, the ball is in the hands of the cbp |

evamum:For documents, check the ist page of this thread for the link. For the right time, check the us website for availability of dates and decide. The earlier the better. Being uneducated is not an issue. I saw a yoruba woman who couldn't understand 'come' in english get a visa. They have interpreters at the embassy. Let her just know why she's travelling, who she's staying with, for how long etc. |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 8:40pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
tobithedancer:Lol @trekkable. My brother. Use google map calculate the distance. Use that same Google map check your options. There is a train run by the airport that leaves into the city. Research the best option for you to get a greyhound station. Tip for you: while changing money, ask for smaller bills for these your wakarings. Imagine pulling out a 100 to buy a 10 dollar ticket... |
