The Prophet clearly misunderstood the word of God. A clear example is the story of Jesus and Satan when the devil took Jesus to the top of the temple and challenge him to jump down that................Angels will take charge over him and he won't be hurt. Jesus simple answer was "thou shalt not tempt thy God" which I believe would have been appropriate to this man.

I also feel sorry for those saying that its evil spirit that entered the lions which made them attacked the man........damn!! Some people are so superstitious, gullible and stupid. The pastor dared God, Daniel was wickedly cast into the den, he didn't took himself there to prove to people he was a prophet. All the miracles Jesus did was never done to impress people. Some were done out of pity, empathy or compassion etc, some of the beneficiaries were even warned not to tell people about it. But today it's procast in our tv stations for pecuniary motives. I am not judging anybody, just making insight from the Holy Scriptures.

It's really saddening the amount of posts written on daily basis to discredit, insult or mock African's/Nigerian's continued belief and trust in God.
What the bishop did was silly and amounts to putting God to test, but that doesn't mean God cannot get u out of a lions den.
Just recently, I came across a post from a white lady telling us they sold religion to black slaves so they can be obedient. She is now telling Africans to throw away the toga of religion and be free from slavery. I'm like, what rubbish, who is she to tell us what to do.

THE AFTERMATH

In an instant, the story was all over the country that a pastor who entered the lion’s den was mauled to death and consumed by the beasts. Many could not believe their ears. However, there were some Christians who actually believe that the pastor was a true man of God and that the lions were actually possessed by demons to have attacked the anointed ‘man of God’. This set of Christians were enraged and demanded that the lions be killed.

At this point, I will make reference to the experience of a journalist from that era, someone who actually had the experience of the saga, Akeem Soboyode, he wrote of the incident in July 2004:

However you look at, the holy bible frowns on foolishness. The bible also warns us not yo put the Lord our God at test. So abinitio the man was on himself, without God's backing. If it was by accident that he had found himself in such a place, with his faith, hoping he was also righteous brfore God, nothing would have happened to him.

Biblical miracles are not only exaggerated. Most of them are outright lies and that's why no religious prophet can replicate any of those purported miracles. This story is a good pointer to that.

You are right except in the area you suggested that those who don't believe in God should keep it to themselves. You see, our society has gone to the stage we all must speak up. Religion is really the danger not God. If a religion is out to destroy the society we have no choice than to proscribe it.

Nobody is mocking the creator. It's the religions and their so called holy books that are making the biggest mockery of God.

I schooled in Ibadan too that year and I heard about the Pastor.. me being dumbfounded then is a gross understatement.. It is well.

The story of Daniel like most stories in the bible are clearly fictions. You can always find that out yourself.

I remember Dr Ogunba of the Zoology departing, during his interview, saying "Why should I order the lion to be put to death?. The pastor is lucky to have died from the encounter, because he would have been sued for intentional murder of a human soul"
