One thing that baffles me is that Nigerians invest more in animal production and fisheries but less on crop farming ,why is this so?
I believe emphasis should be more on crop farming than animal farming

15B for a poultry...those chickens must lay golden eggs..
I see EFCC open a file for his dirty ass in a couple of years, another avenue to loot.

Thieves , you all will perish on earth.

Great idea to build such a poultry BUT Not just in Anambra but in the whole country we will not develop if we wait for government to do everything. Why are there no major private enterprise farms apart from those set up by generals like Obasanjo and others with stolen money.
Also looking in the pictures I can see Oyinbo
Are we to believe our so called rich men cannot set up poultries to stop chicken importation?

Why are there no Nigerian experts in these things and if there are none why aren't we training them?

It is difficult for farms or business to be sustainable if it is entirely done with government money especially in Nigeria.
We have seen many farms set up for 100 naira to end up being sold for 1 Naira to Demdem

They have started again with their white elephant project that will not impact the lives of the masses. What are his plan to earn billions as revenue from local poultry when most food consumed in Nigeria are imported.Governors in Nigeria are the worst managers on e can ever imagine, thats why most of them can not pay the meagre sum of N18,000 as minimum wage. When we were receiving huge revenue from the sales of oil some years back couple with the excess crude revenue, these so called state administrator could not save or even save ahead for the rainy day. Let some body advise this man about the cost implication and opportunity cost of this project before he subjects Anambra indigenes to extreme poverty

I do not think it is a white elephant project necessarily.

Places like this could serve as a centre of learning and knowledge dissemination but in the general competitive world of chicken production it is a small project and will not yield much revenue for the needs of a state government but could help alleviate unemployment by training youth. A really serious chicken industry would need to be located right next to a farm where feed is grown and milled .We are talking Soya and corn plus a feed mill and slaughter and packaging . In that regard the North has the best advantage but where are the investors?

We are taught not to take our subjective experiences as fact but look for evidence .That is the essence of education.

You say everywhere you go ? Is that a rational or scientific way to draw conclusions about the world? The data is there if you look for it even in Nigeria: the number of hectares under cultivation for palm fruit, cocoa, maize, tomatoes, cashew etc

Nigeria is the largest producer of shea nuts,Cassava and yam in THE WORLD and one of the largest for many crops such as groundnuts, cocoa, cashews, palm oil, tomatoes, oranges etc
so eschew the habit of unfounded generalizations or conclusions

Nigeria is one of the TOP TEN Pineapple producers ,plantain too the same thing

Obviously the poultry is much larger than the report says. We definitely need more of this and I see no reason why every single state of the federation cannot do something like this.

Some governors are working while others are lazily waiting for feeding bottle allocation from Abuja. Also, some other governors are busy cutting kpomo on the streets, taking pictures and getting hailed, while citizens of some states with 'ghost' governors are attacking Buhari and everyone else for their age long woes. Hopefully we would all wake up one day.
