LMAO
There is nothing wrong with having a large population.
There is everything wrong with this kind of population explosion. A good number of the kids here are thrown into the streets to fend for themselves from a very tender age. This type of large population, without parental guidance and love, is terrible.

an egbira Muslim corper told me I shouldn't ask questions all the time that some times its better not to ask question on religion. I wasn't surprised though. religion is the problem of the north
An Egbira Muslim? Do you think the Egbiras are over populated? Do you think the Egbiras are core notherners? Do the Egbiras have Almajiris? Or maybe you think the Egbiras are not educated?

I am Igala, but please whenever they are talking about North and poverty. Leave Kogi State alone.

Hope you read this part from the post you quoted "if those in government know how to manage it".

Since 1960 the North has been fully in control of the Federal government even when Obasanjo and Jonathan were there.
They have 19 states to the 17 in the South for deciding our CONSTITUTION etc.
Some States in the Middle Belt are not as poor as you think. There are some tribes in the middle belt that would rather die than beg for food. So please, stop saying 19 States are in the north blablablabla. Some States value education in the middle belt. Thanks...

Does poverty in the North make it less beautiful than the East?

We have over the years acknowledged this fact, and efforts are made to avert the trend. By the time we get on our feet, owing to the enormous human and natural resources cool, we shall be the envy of all.

Meanwhile, enjoy your over developed East. wink

Don't be stupiid, we are far developed than the rest

If a discussion about the Militants in the South South comes to light. Would you drag the South West into it? We are in the North for political reasons, but bear in mind that the only thing we have in common with them is religion. Many Middle Beltans are Muslims, but culturally they have nothing to do with the Hausa/ Fulani.

I have been watching and listening to shettima for a while, these northern governors are beginning to regret how they policised the iusue of boko haram and insecurity in their land as their eyes are now opened.

I see this as a lesson and warning to my peeps in Niger delta and south east. Violence never pays, you may enjoy it now but regret years later and wish it never happened.

God bless Nigeria

No, it's Islamic to marry 4 wives and born numerous untrained bastards. if you're tired with one, pursue am commot , marry another one and keep breeding terrorist. Cows in human form.

No any region has ruled this country like the Northerners yet they remained unsatisfied, undeveloped, uncivilized but only know how to carry all manners of weapons to terrorise others.

keep on equipping them with the weapons, one day, the bush meat go catch the hunter.

Our population growth rate is about 2.5% annually, and most African nations economy don't reach up to 2% growth annually, so people are actually becoming poorer every year.

So why are your governors complaining of poverty, if not to use it as an excuse to siphon federal money to the north

Southeast is no 1 in education in nigeria presently waec, neco and jamb attest to it, in innovation and skills we are giant, in trade and commerce we dictate it etc politicians from other regions are not better than politician from southeast, southeast is the least indebted region in the country, our politician are corrupt but not more corruppt than politicians using #78 naira from govt coffers to build personal website and 50 million naira for bed etc

Taraaba state is bigger than Holland in land mass, yet Holland exports Agric produce more than ANY COUNTRY in the world. Your start wondering why the poverty rate in north is amazing.

Mr Gov, your people in the past (even now) have placed religion(Islam) above anything in their society, including their lives, welfare and development. Thanks to their wicked leaders.

The northen Nigeria is a center of learning for every preventable disease in africa. Call it Polio, VVF Meningitis etc. These damn diseases are preventable. Religion made your people reject polio vaccine until it started hitting u people bad. Child marriage which is approved by your religion, has been linked to Obstetric Fistula also known as VVF. Mehnn, thats blantant wickedness.

Until the root of the problems, which is blind followership among your on the doctrines of Islam, then these problems can NEVER be solved in near future.

Don't mind them...

The north is a poverty - trapped region today because the leaders have refused to do the right thing. Agriculture used to be at its peak in Northern Nigeria in time past. Today every díck and harry is waiting for FG monthly allocation. We are now so lazy that we can't even work on our farmlands anymore. Just waiting for federal allocations to survive. Rubbish system of government in Nigeria!!!

The biggest problem is our mindset as people. Agriculture use to be important those days but our people were still very poor.
Look around us and see what really need to be done. The solution to poverty is education and proper investment in major infrastructure like road, power and establishment of industrial cluster parks.

Nigeria is seriously over populated and due to religious beliefs we keep on increasing at an alarming rate.

That should sarcasm, I guess.
Nigeria is pretty very poor both North and South ( worst in the north).
The economy is poorly structured, technical and engineering education terrible, infrastructure in shambles and high level of religious intolerance... You can achieve much in a society that people are comfortable with ignorance and poverty
