It's 7PM here, still trying to unwind after getting home from work.

It's hard work but I tell you, some of the pros in here don't even advertise for work anymore as they've established themselves as defector base of knowledge on quality work.

I give you some names like Spyder880, Aventures, Skimanski, etc

So just come in once in a while and see if you can guide us on something. Most especially share your ongoing projects and before you know it folks will start calling your name.

they where imported sir. But some time if a client need a design or patterns that I don't have, I will rent from my friends.
Installing stamped concrete in ur outer floor yard is a very good idea. It has a lot a advantages over interlocking, especially in term of adding value to ur property and in the aspect of hygiene, though a bit more expensive. I have told many engineers that even laying a waterproof before laying the interlocking will never stop weed on interlocking floor. This is because, 80% of the weeds that grows on interlocking floor are brought by wind. So stamped concrete is always the best.
But stamp concrete has it own disadvantage like
Cracking. To stop these future cracking, u must properly reinforce the floor before the installation. U need to properly sub base, sub grade, the floor, tie your iron mesh or iron rod properly, the mixture of your aggregate is also important especially the ratio of water to concrete. U also need to cure the concrete is any need and make sure the expansion joints are properly placed, and some secrete which I may not reveal here that are my competitive strength.

Evening House,

In terms of PVC and Suspended ceiling can you list the pros and cons of each one?

I have had a few suggestions on using POP/PVC and someone recently brought Suspended ceiling to my attention so wanted to get more information on this.

Appreciate your responses
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Arnoldfish(m): 8:39pm On Jan 23, 2016
It all depends on the desired outcome you want to create.
they all are good. Just that PVC will stand if u have a roof leakage, some suspended ceiling will stand for a long time too while the fibre type will fail at first soak. but once the leakage penetrates tru POP even repainting can stop it till the leakage is stopped. longer leakages on POP makes it fail. in terms of looks POP is the finnest and most expensive tho depending on the design. PVC looks less ornate but cheap and durable. suspended ceiling is ideal and mostly used in office spaces. for a home POP/PVC is mostly used.

Thanks alot.
I have been looking into POP/PVC until suspended ceiling came into the picture.
Someone sent me to photo below for a kitchen that was done recently so wanted to explore this idea.
In terms of suspended ceiling what materials are used and how much are the costs for installation?
I also heard some PVC break/shrink after a while so which are the best ones to go for?
Again, thanks for your response.

The grids and perimeter track are made of light metal. The boadrs can be Fibre which is destructible by water, the waterproof sheathed gypsum material like that of gypsum board and PVC also. they come in diff designs. the Gypsum material is cool, the Fibre is commonly used when acoustic control is needed. the prices ranges from 1600-3000 per square meter depending on the boards chosen

The one in the Pic u posted is quite durable and sparkling white. if affected by smoke in the kitchen, it can be cleaned with water and mild detergent... and when a board damages, u can easily remove it and place a new one back, no technicalities required.

Awesome. Thanks alot. You have been very helpful.
Few more questions. What good brands are out there for this suspended ceiling? can I pick them up at orile or are there any reputable sellers?
Also will this stand the test of time against PVC. POP seems way too expensive for this project/site.

Thanks again

funny..you are looking for job... and you are asking your prospective employer to call

There is nothing in that reply that indicates that Segcy has given or is about to give him a job!

Secondly, saying he can be reached on 080xxxx is no different from putting your phone Number on your CeeVee!
If you dont, how then will the prospective employer reach you?

There is this penchant for we Nigerians to think those looking for a job have no dignity left and must grovel on the floor, just because they want a job.

A prospective employer actually has a duty to call the "potential employee"..... or how else is the employer supposed to "convey intent" to even have/start an interview or look-over of the candidate? And its no big deal FYI.

I reside in Lagos, have family residence at Ibadan where l also spend time but will be willing to work in any part of the country, if the opportunity arises.

I can be reached (not u can reach me, ...though they mean the same thing but can have a different "mentality effect" in our Nigerian space) on 080xxxxx.

Thank you for your response.

First, It is spelled YORUBAS .... not the derogatory Yolobas, Yellowbas or your own Yerobas.
Your post reeks of bile and hatred for Yorubas, so stop pretending.
Every Thief, when caught, blames it on the Devil! grin

I am sure you and many others who are in "business with the PUBLIC" would have learned something if not many things:
1) Never reply to someone, out of ANGER
2.) Never stereotype a whole tribe or race
3.) Never say what you dont mean. Be ready to stand by what you say...ALWAYS
4.) When you throw stones in the market place, you never can say who it will hit.... it could be your own family member
5.) If you must indulge in tribal bigotry as you have done, always remember to isolate your "business lines" from the ones used in such ignoble agendas
6.) We live in a "digital age" and care needs to be taken in what we say/write because it will not only outlive us, our children's children will make reference to it.
7.) There is a reason people like Dangotte NEVER get involved in "party politics or tribal fisticuffs"..... They know it can kill business.

Finally, Trust is easy to destroy and difficult to build.
"Out of the abundance of the Heart, the Mouth Speaks".
You are who you are, You are what you say and what you said in that post, IS EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE....... no need pretending or apologising.

Would you even have apologised, ......if not that you see the opportunity of a "business" coming up?

I dont like "Opportunism and opportunist".

Too bad... undecided
