Where Was Jesus Between 12-30 Years Of Age. by joliyp(f): 12:00am On Jan 24, 2016 |
for the bible scholars here,i need you to clarify these question 1 where was Jesus bet 12 to 30,if truly his the messiah why was the bible silent about him for that period? 2 john the baptist claimed Jesus is the son of God,how come when he was about to die he asked him(Jesus if he was the messiah?meaning john wasn't sure if Jesus was the messiah 3 Pilate asked Jesus if he was the messiah yet Jesus never responded he said "if you say so"does that mean Jesus wasn't sure if his the messiah. 4 throughout the bible Jesus never calmed to be the messiah why? 5 AND how come Jesus never fulfilled the prophecy that was said about him? four was not fulfilled WHICH ARE: 1 Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28). 2 Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6). 3 Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4) 4 Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: "God will be King over all the world – on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9)which of these prophecies did Jesus fulfilled 6,who is God who is Jesus, people now confused Jesus to GOD,IF any thing bad happen the call on GOD ,IF THE GOOD THING HAPPEN THEY THANK JESUS,WHO DID IT?WHAT ABOUT GOD. 1 Like |

Wow, Great Bible scholars indeed could be the only ones probably fit to answer on this. But all the point you mentioned doesn't prove him not to be the Messiah. And for no.5, I don't know about the prophesies that aren't fulfilled. You could point them out, it would be interesting to know them. Hopefully we aren't talking about things outta the old and new testaments Christians are familiar with. |

You must be a Muslim who has gone through the bible. The koran mentioned Jesus as a prophet, was his life detailed? All your statements except the one the bible is silent about Jesus for some years I think are wrong. The books in the new testament are like accounts of different people of what transpired. Mattew, Mark, Luke, John, they all tell the story of what they heared, encountered and knew about Jesus while he was with them. Therefore his adult life will be more. Imagine your friends writing your bibliography...What would you expect? John 4:26 Jesus talks about being the messiah We believe in the trinity, three in one God the father, God the son and God the holy spirit I sometimes baffle when you guys use bible portions and events to discredit the same bible though. 2 Likes |

1)The question should have started as; "why did God ask Joseph to run away with Jesus from herod who wanted to kill him" (herod was just a human that God can strike to death) or why did d world not hear of barrack obama btwn age 12-30 or why did no one hear of dangote or bill gate betwn age 12-30. Who told ur dad to keep u away from the village till u get married. My dear to fulfil destiny in life, there's time to take cover and there's time to take over. 2)A forerunner(who came to prepare the way for christ) at the point of death asked if he was about to die for the right reason(completed mission) and you say he doesn't know the messiah. The bible says he came in the spirit of Elias(Elijah) and this same powerful elijah said he was a man of like passion as u(james 5:17). Even jesus was hungry(mark 11:12) and begged God to make the cup pass over him(matt 26:39) even though he was majorly a spirit being. So John the baptist was only being human like you and I who would have even done worse. He had to confirm again. 3)Prophet isaiah already prophesied they would not believe him -their eyes blinded, their hearts hardened(john 12:37-40). What's the point revealing ur identity to an angry mob that was already prophesied not to believe you. 4)Same answer as (3) above. Applies to the scribes, gentiles; pharisees, saduccees. 5)Sister, its you who don't understand the prophecy very well. Jesus fulfiled prophecy. It was said of him that he wouldn't be believed. The times he tried to convince them just a little, they picked up stones to kill him, he had to run(john 8:58-59). If you were in his shoes, would you keep saying things that would make the unbelieving mob angrier? 6)Its personal for different individual with their differences. As a matter of fact, its the opposite for some people - when something bad happens, they shout "blood of jesus!" And when something good happens, they shout "baba God thank you" so it depends on how u personally see it. As for who's God and jesus, anyone u choose to serve is ok. The bible say all power in heaven and earth has been given unto him(Jesus)-(matt 28:18). But this same Jesus who has all power in heaven and earth told us to be as perfect as God d father, not as him(mat 5:48). Besides we can't approach God without Jesus' righteous name. Our name and person is too filthy of sin. 10 Likes |

1. He went for his education that prepared him for the nitty gritty of this world. Though he's God, he's not of this world so for him to blend into this world, he needs to be educated 2. John was only but a human who saw the happenings of that time and became scared like an average Jew. The mindset of average Jewish man was that Jesus was a political messiah that will liberate them from the Romans 3. Though he is God, he never assumed equality with God. He's humble to the core and that single quality was what made him come down here leaving his heavenly glory 4. 3 Likes |

Those unaccounted years in the bible is a clear indication of Jesus being a mythical figure. How? His pre-conception, conception were out rightly documented. His miracles and death were also documented, Now do we agree the documentation process might be falsified or fictional since there were not timeline account of his missing years on earth. Again, I could also relate this story to every fairytales/fictional stories have seen and read, How? We were shown the birth of superman and spiderman character, little of their childhood and fast forward to their adulthood when they started fighting their villains till the end of their story. Jesus story isn't that different. |

tempest01: Nope, it is known that the gospels were written decades after the alleged death Jesus. Scholars also have evidence that shows that they may not have been written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. |

joliyp:He never commenced His Earthly Ministry till 30 yrs when the Holy Spirit descended on Him. However, He was in Nazareth and was simply known as the carpenter's son. 54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? 55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? Matthew 13:54,55 Notice what Jesus said informed John's question (depression): And blessed (happy, fortunate, and [a]to be envied) is he who takes no offense at Me and finds no cause for stumbling in or through Me and is not hindered from seeing the Truth. Matthew 11:6 From the question of the disciples after Christ's resurrection, it was clear that many thought He would take over immediately (being oblivious of the Church age in between the 69th and 70th week of Daniel's prophecy). I believe John's continued incarceration brought depression. Similarly, Jeremiah at a time got to same depression and planned never to prophesy again Jeremiah 20:9 He was sure else why prophesy of how He would die and ressurect? Besides, He did not say, "IF you say so"! Please quote the place you got that from. Let Jesus answer you (luckily, He was also speaking to a lady here!) 25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am heJohn 4:25,26 Not all the prophecies were to be fulfilled at His first coming! Some are for the Second Advent. All these will be fulfilled at the Millenial reign. Kindly read Daniel's prophecy and see that there is a Divine arrangement: And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Revelations 20:4 CoolUsername:Yes read what Luke had to say at the Intro to Luke's Gospel: 1 Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, 2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word; Luke 1:1,2 The records were written according to the testimonies given by eye witnesses who were also ministers (eg Apostles). Now there were others also who produced contaminated writings eg Gnostics under the title of Gospels and the Spirit warned of them : But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Indeed the man you call Jesus wasn't the Messiah the Jews were looking forward to. The utterances found the Hebrew had undergone reinterpretation, redactions and additions. The second Temple period saw a kind of a revival in Jewish literature..... The writers of the Gospel used a principle of interpretation called "Midrash aggada" to interpret prochecies in OT(old testamemt sources) speak about a coming messiah that is to be born in Bethlehem. *I think a lot of scholars have written on this, you can check Bart Ehrman Jesus Interrupted Misquoting Jesus and How Jesus Became God |

The Bible was written under the inspiration of God's Holy Spirit {2Timothy 3:16} so you need true disciples of Christ (Jehovah's Witnesses) to guide you in the study of God's word {Matthew 28:20} in fact that's why they're always coming to knock on your door or gate every now and then! Jesus is the prophet God promised to send to the Israelites in the manner of Moses {Deuteronomy 18:18 compare to Act 3:22} so there are many things that happened in the lives of these two Bible characters are are similar. 1 Both of them proved to be man and God in their lifetime! John 1:1; Isaiah 9:6 compare to Exodus 7:1 2 Both of them were born at a time baby boys were put to death in their neighbourhood! Exodus 1:22; 2:1-7 compare to Matthew 2:16 3 Both of them were without food and water for 40 days and 40 nights! Exodus 34:28 compare to Luke 4:2 4 Both of them performed great miraculous works that those who knew them kept wondering what they are for real! Exodus 34:10 compare to Mark 4:41 I can go on and on but let's address your question: Note that the story of Moses also paused as a baby until he became an adult that the narrator continued, the same happened to Jesus of Nazareth because what God's Holy Spirit want us to know about these characters aren't how they eat food, drank water or poo rather it was the part they played in God's plan to redeem mankind. So they were born grew up and did a lot that we need to read carefully, study diligently, meditated upon thoroughly and pray fervently to know what these has to do with us! Thanks, God bless you and may you have PEACE! |
