i have a boy who just turned 1.5 years this month.the mother just stopped breast feeding him last week.
the problem now is that he has gone on hunger strike...he will not take anything at all.i have tried almost available baby food that i know.from APTAMIL, FRISO GOLD, CERELAC, NAN, ISOMIL, etc.this boy wont have any of them. i tried normal food like rice ,bean,semolina etc, no way.

He seems to like liquids only,drinks water like water will soon finish,recently,we started bleeding water melon,apple ,pine apple ,he likes them too.but for how long.we are scared ..i was asking my wife to go back to breast feeding and she said its not advisable as her breast might not be good anymore..
please experience mothers and fathers, what do we do.

1. i believe people of vast knowledge and background come in here.

2. he doesn't look ill to me and no abnormal temperature.

3. am only consideration seeing a nutritionist.

He would love it
If he likes fruits, there are cereals with these fruity flavours and quite cheap too

Fortified pap is usually recommended. It consists of pap,crayfish,palm oil,soya milk,egg and ofcos sugar(enof to taste pleasant to d child) . You can also cut apples to bit sizes. Also make food presentation very attractive,and the person feeding should be patient cus they often get distracted during feeding. Don't make d menu monotonous too.
Avoid noodles.

Next time it's after 6months of exclusive breastfeeding(EBF) you introduce other feeds.
EBF doesn't include water.
Another thing is as long as you're lactating breast milk still in your breast can't go bad even if d child doesn't suck for 1wk or a month. And yes,ur child can still hv breast milk.

Its a certified pediatrician that will prescribe the best multi vitamins for your baby,what works for other people may not work for you.

1. Was he eating before she stopped breastfeeding?
I can assure you that it's very unlikely he will take any infant formula. There's nothing wrong with continuing to breastfeed though, I breastfed my child till he was 2 years plus. The only difference is he always had a healthy appetite .
The child does need multivitamins but that won't solve your problem.
You'll just have to keep trying till you stumble upon one thing that he really likes, that would be your starting point. With my child it was boiled and mashed fish... And I fed him that almost everyday till I started mixing other things in it. What does your wife eat often? Those are the flavours he will remember because the flavour of her food shows in her breastmilk. She should try to give him food from her plate while eating. Instead of making him his own plate, also giving him a spoon to feed himself while abandoning him with the food in a room will make him first play with the food but before you know it, he will eat.

This is the product of "Baby Friendly" it will go on for sometimes before it stops. You don't expect a baby that has not taken any food(both solid and liquid) before to just start immediately. Even adults takes time to adjust. He will slowly adjust.
