Setting Up A Kitchen - Suggestions Needed. by mrmofasa(m): 5:30pm On Jan 28, 2016
I just moved into a new apartment and I want to set up my kitchen to be as comfortable as possible on a slightly limited budget.

Why? I enjoy cooking and see the kitchen as a place to unwind and be creative.

First, what kind of pots should I buy - Aluminum or Stainless? I would be grateful if the pros and cons of each choice is explained.

Secondly, which is better - stainless, wooden or plastic utensils i.e spatula?

For pots I would say go for non stick pots cos it's easy to wash and if u check your food regularly while cooking you will have less or no burnt food unlike aluminums pot that burns food. If you are using non stick pots i will recommend wooden spoons, spatula and the rest. Every utensils u use to turn or check your food while cooking with non stick pots should be wood.

Thank you Mrs OJ. Can the wooden spatula be used in frying too?

No cutehector.
Op I suggest saintless steel.
A nonstick pans coating can start to come off in your food after awhile.

Thank you for the link, QueenValerie.
I am more informed now.

Good quality stainless steel cooking pots and pans seem to be the best choice.

I am looking towards wooden and stainless utensils to go along with the pots. Heard the wood adds extra flavour/tinge to the food.

Sure.
I think having a mix of both would be good, stainless steel utensils and wood.
