South Africa does NOT make any aircraft rocket pods, even THIZA cannot find one to show us. SAAF imports rocket pods from Belgium, but Nigeria makes our own rocket pods.....something you cannot do !!!!

No wonder your men cannot fight war, you dance while other countries fight wars.

In Nigeria we manufacture rocket pods, and we use them in combat, not for dancing.

SA does not manufacture rocket pods for aircraft, NIG does it, and we can sell to you !!!
.

Why would we buy obsolete equipment that we dont use?

You really think that we can make the latest generation of missile and not make a simple rocket pod?

You know we make MRLS systems right?

Even THIZA and Saengine have given up on the fact that South Africa does NOT make aircraft rocket pods like Nigeria produces. Stop lying and move forward, why must you try to prove you do what you do not do? Only you must do all things? Stop lying and accept facts as they are anx let this forum move to another topic.[/s]

The same guy who argued for weeks about the speed of a falling bomb even when we posted a source here for all to see?

@AUGUSTUS YOU HAVE CROSSED ALL LINES OF NORMAL DEBATES AND DISCUSSIONS. YOUR DEFENCE OF UNDEFENCELESS ARGUMENTS LEAVES A LOT TO B DESIRED IN RELATION TO YOUR ANALYSIS AND THINKING.

NIGERIA IS A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY AND COMPARING IT TO SOUTH AFRICA INDICATES YOUR SHALLOWNESS IN REASONING AND COMPARISON. SOUTH AFRICAN SPECIAL FORCES ARE FORGED IN BATTLES AND PICTURES ARE NOT OLDER THAN 3 YEARS. TRAINING WITH OLD FN RIFLES STILL CONTINUES TODAY.

THE MISTAKE YOU THOUGHT YOU ARE A SPECIALIST REGARDING SOUTH AFRICA, HOWEVER A DUMP SQUIP WITH NO KNOWLEDGE ON MILITARY MATTERS....ANYWAY YOU ARE PRAISE SINGER SINGING FOR HIS SUPPER. THE MORE YOU TRY TO BRING DOWN OUR ARGUMENTS EXPOSES YOUR EMPTY RHETORIC.

THE QUESTION HAS AND STILL IS WHAT DOES NIGERIA INVENTED....BOOSTING ABOUT JOINT VENTURE ABOUT RUSSIA, CHINA OR USA PROVES THE POINT THAT NIGERIA CANNOT AND WILL NOT INVENT ANYTHING AND HAS NEVER INVENTED ANYTHING...BESIDES BOKO HARAM NO COMABT EXPERIANCE WORTH WRITING ABOUT.

SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE TASK FORCE.....WHICH YOU DONT HAVE OR ISRAEL WILL COME TO HELP ESTABLISH.....EMPTY HEADS

LIW, a division of Denel, South-Africa, completed development work and test firing on their latest version of the G5 155mm towed gun system in 2003. In line with its standard artillery gun nomenclature, this version has been named the G5-52, while the truck mounted version will in future be known as the T5-52.

The biggest change is the addition of a burst loader and a complete projectile handling system. This system comprises an electrically-driven chain rammer which loads both the projectile and the charge in the gun barrel, a projectile magazine which can hold 6 projectiles in 2 layers, and a small crane which can transfer 3 projectiles at a time from a ground pile to the projectile magazine.

This latest development is in line with the South African National Defence force and other potential buyers' requirement for more ergonomic gun designs, and which consider the 47kg 155mm projectile too heavy to be handled by one person during the process of loading. The new system requires no man handling of projectiles. Only the charge, much lighter at 17kg, has to be placed manually on the loading tray, from where it is automatically pushed into the barrel chamber.

A unique feature of the system is that a firing mission can be started with one round in the barrel, one on the loading tray, 6 in the magazine and 3 on the crane. A total of 11 rounds can therefore be fired without any manipulation of ammunition, which is a world first for a towed gun system.

A firing rate of 6 rounds per minute can easily be achieved with the top charge at all elevations. With the fully integrated command system and automatic laying system, MRSI (multiple round simultaneous impact) missions can be conducted with minimum operator assistance.

The T5-52 truck mounted gun-howitzer was developed by Denel Land Systems. First prototype of this artillery system was revealed in 2002. It is a South African counterpart to the French Caesar truck-mounted howitzer, developed to meet the potential requirements of India. Development of this artillery system is completed, however there were no confirmed sales.

The T5 was previously dubbed the Condor and was armed with a 155-mm / L45 weapon. The second model, the T5-52, utilizes the G5-2000 towed howitzer top carriage. This artillery system is compatible with standard NATO 155-mm ammunition. Projectiles are fed automatically onto the rammer tray from the magazine. Charge loading is semi-automatic.

Maximum range of fire is 42.5 km with rocket assisted projectile and 55 km with V-LAP or velocity enhanced projectile, developed by Denel. The T5-52 is capable of MRSI or multiple round simultaneous impact firing. It can fire up to six rounds to hit the target simultaneously. This artillery system can fire in 360° arc, however it has to return to the 80° arc to simplify the loading process. Normally the T5-52 fires backward in relation to the vehicle. This artillery system fires forward only in case of emergency. Vehicle also has a direct firing capability.

The T5-52 has an operating crew of four and additional four crew members to prepare and supply the ammunition. A crew of four can bring the gun into or out of action within 60 seconds.

The T5-52 is mounted on the modified 8x8 Tatra T815 WN truck chassis. This truck is manufactured in India under license. Vehicle is powered by a turbocharged diesel engine, developing 355 hp. To provide a more stable firing platform, this truck has three stabilizer blades. Cab of this artillery system is unarmored, however protection against 5.56-mm rounds can be fitted as an option.

The Denel Stryker LAV III 105 mm howitzer can directly fire three shells through the same hole.

This remarkable degree of accuracy was achieved when the latest version of DLS’s 105mm Stryker was recently tested at the Alkantpan testing range in the Northern Cape. The Stryker LAV III LSPH (Light Self-propelled Howitzer) differs from previous versions in that it can now be serviced by a crew rather than being remotely fired.

Stephan Burger the CEO of Denel Land Systems (DLS) says the firing tests were witnessed by members of the SA Defence community. The tests underline the world-class characteristics of the gun and the quality of the engineering team responsible for its development, says Burger.

The 105-mm Stryker is a joint project between DLS, General Dynamic Systems and Rheinmetall Denel Munitions – another subsidiary of Denel, South Africa’s largest manufacturer of defence products.
Research and Development work on the system started in the 1990’s when a Denel/Armscor project team was set the task to produce 155mm, 39 calibre Artillery range, accuracy and lethality from a 105mm system. The end product was an artillery piece with the weight of a 105mm howitzer, but the range and terminal performance of a 155mm System -- with better precision.

Nigeria is the giant of africa in population not in productive human resources and endeavours. The greatest joke of nigerians is that in that absulute miseries and gross moral decadence, they still think they worth something. The taste of the pudding is in the eating peeps.

RSA please understand Nigerians overbloated egos because of outdated achievements does not allow them to realize they are approaching complete blindness while pointing out the specs in others eyes. They don't even know how to take a challenge or constructive criticism.

You're calling south africa 'aids infested',how many people in Nigeria don't have aids? If they say, south africa is better, accept it cos it is in every way. You complain about crime, go to ajegunle and start flaunting your phone.come back and tell me what happens.

MY dear brothers and sisters, the very fact that a lot of you are angry is proof enough that Nigeria is no longer the Giant of Africa. If Nigeria were still the Giant of Africa, it would be incontrovertible and there would be no need to argue in her defense. Assume that some said that China is God's Own Country or North Korea is the Land of the Free, then most, if not all, Americans would laugh because of the absurdity of such a claim. It is good to be patriotic, but better to be realistic.

Some facts look at Naija's power generation output which is 3800MGW for 150 million people, while RSA generates over 40,000MGW f45 million people.

ATE makes guided pods as well as rocket pods. Not a big deal in SA and we don't call news conference when we develop them.

Spy balloon is not viable and I don't see why there should be so much talks about it. It is just a waste of time and is normally used as a close gap.

South Africa makes boats and Nigeria is as well our customer in that field. They have come all the way to.place orders down here in Mzansi.

Lastly, South Africa makes lot of UAVs and has 100 year experience in that field. It is not a new comer. Thank you.
