Many reasons why his wearing a backpack, but that's not what our soldier wear on deployment, BUT it still proves my point, when walking around with 40kg worth of kit, an 8kg plate makes a huge difference.
lives are worth more than 8kg. You already saddled up with 40kg, 8kg don't bite much.

he did withdraw $740 million from his central bank though. Rember the deal was a package deal, it could have included alot of things wich are not public knowlegde...

He also got flight simulators and after the acquisition, he moved the main airbase from entebe airport to a military base and satelite image shows preparation for expansion of the base, anyway if we had advanced ISR and upgraded our fighters to precision strike capability... hehe, let me not imagin

And as we said, lives are saved through mobility and speed.

A soldier can only carry only so much ~ about 50kg. This weight has been standard since Roman Times.

8kg ammounts to 12% of what he can carry.

We choose to use that 8kg for other more important things.

Anyway, the debate started about tactical vests that can be seperated from BPV's - so lets not lose sight of that

Meaning every soldier will appear on the Chaka C2, enhancing control.

Buddy aid.

It is for chaps to help each other before the medic/doctor arrives. Like they can stop bleeding, cover wounds etc.

AU / ANISOM needs to consult seriously with Algeria and Nigeria on how to defeat El-Shabbab this 2016, a detailed strategic planning meeting between Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Algeria, Nigerian military generals who have fought Islamic Terrorists for many years with modern experience and tactics. AU needs a new war strategy in Somalia 2016. Lets end this war, AU is spending money for too many years without an end in sight. The countries fighting there have sacrificed a lot of soldiers lives. Ghana, come join ANISOM please, and do something for Africa like your legendary Kwame Nkrumah wishes.

I have a feeling that Nigeria's next guided missile Frigate/Corvette will be built in Nigeria by our own domestic shipyards. India is trying to rival China and Pakistan in getting close to Nigerian military, the Indians have woken up and they don't want to be a world power with no big African partner in progress. They are seriously engaging Nigerian army too for cooperation, and NAF pilots are now in Indian air force bases doing stuff that is still classified.

The guys in Bama were just a part of the entire operations. Besides those boys had been fighting continuously, and deserved at that point to travel light.

The boys in Yobe and Adamawa sectors always wore their plate carriers.

"You have a feeling?"........ I know for a fact that the next Nigerian corvettes would be built in Nigeria. We have the Infrastructure (Lagos, Onne, Port-Harcourt & Calabar), only un-patriotic Nigerians would carry out contrary plans.

The Indians do not want to be left out, i just hope feasibility studies on the Survey Ship have already been carried out. The Indians have significant expertise in building ships, INS Kochi represents the sophistication of Indian ship building.

I'm elated by this current push for in-house manufacturing.

Nigerian navy has confirmed for 2016

1. New incoming guided missile fast attack crafts, 2 to 4 vessels
2. Hydrographic and Survery vessel, 1 ship
3. NNS Aradu frigate refit
4. New Landing Ship Tank, 1 vessel
5. NNS Andoni II MPV, 1 vessel
6. Fast inshore patrol boats, 30 vessels

Not a bad deal for one year. I think Buhari government wants to retool all 3 armed forces fairly according to the current threats and need of each force.

Correction, 30 of those inshore patrol boats have already been delivered. The Navy is expecting to take delivery of 70 more vessels half are coming in from local suppliers while 35 are coming in from foreign vendors.

- There's that unknown vessel the Navy is currently building.

- 3 ships sailed to China last year for a refit (You could search Chinese google for results)

- NNS Ohue, NNS Barama, NNS Ayam & NNS Siri are back

- 70 inshore patrol crafts, not 30, 30 have been delivered.
