No need for the hating and badmouthing..... That Job was Divinely Ascribed To the Cleaner. Yes that's the Truth....God has Simply Blessed the cleaner, and we all should accept it in good Faith. If you doubt, This should clear your doubt..... 1. 6 graduates doesn't in anyway represent a fraction of unemployed graduates in any Nigerian state, yet only this six were lucky enough to reach the interview stage. 2. Another Interviewer may have been sent in-place of this one that requested for the cleaner.....but No. 3.This particular clearner may have been absent today maybe as his off day, but guess what? He was on duty, he may also have had an encounter with the company staff that requested that he be interviewed. It may not be reasonable enough for us to understand but guess what? "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." -Isaiah 55:8-9 Congratulations To the Cleaner !!!!! 30 Likes 1 Share |

I don't get it tho. The O.P. Was just trying to point out that some graduates do not take the time to research the company they are about to be interviewed at and all this "reject mail" recipients are bashing him? OP, please leave them. I don't know the cause of their stupid anger. Awon oni iranu. Learn, you will not learn. Later you will be commenting on threads about how you spent 25 years at home after NYSC. Nigerians can do themselves. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

monacobull: This your story sounds fishy.. On what premise did he decide to give the office cleaner a chance? Why stop at the cleaner, why not the drivers as well, security and co? If its true, then this is one of those stranger than fiction type stories.. If its not, pfft! 20 Likes 1 Share |

So if the foreigner was not around, you guys would not have given the cleaner a chance? Typical Nigerian mentality! You HR people should also try to think outside the box. I'm not surprised with how those graduates performed though, given how graduates reason here in nairaland. 6 Likes |

Well don't blame the graduates. Everyone feels tensed when it comes to such interviews knowing fully well that its you against 5 others. In the process of trying to impress your interviewing panel, you end up fumbling. Been to such interviews and I was asked what is IP Address ...I just couldn't but Laugh out Loud (LOL) becos it was shocking to me being asked such. I ended up not getting the job though I answered well the questions thrown at me. The point here is that the 'cleaner' had nothing to lose ...he did not apply, he just got called in but we must give it to him for taking time to learn more about the company he's working for. Most employers would start calling for 1:1/2:1/2:2 as if 3rd class or pass graduates are not humans. Some of them graduated in such class due to errors in their results and not due to lack of knowledge. I always try to encourage cleaners where I work to take opportunity of the environment and improve themselves. It would be wicked having worked for IBM as a cleaner to end up in Microsoft as a cleaner! 11 Likes |

monacobull: Hello, you shouldn't be saddened because of comments from Nairalanders, most of those who rush to comment and talk down/bully others here are actually jobless and intricately unemployable. So, don't let this weigh you down, truth is there are millions of Nigerian youths round the world who are excelling from the formal to the informal sector. Take the good, ignore the bad, advance in your pursuit of happiness. Cheers. 14 Likes 1 Share |

You Guys are funny . Years back I wrote a bank test, out of 470 candidates only about 68 passed, I was invited for interview only to be told am above the desired age. Since then I have been working hard enough to be on my own and make good money where no one will use my age or qualification to discriminate. One thing is certain if its not your company, you will eventually be subjected to: 1. Resignation 2. Retrenchment or 3. Retirement. A word is enough for the wise... 11 Likes 2 Shares |

monacobull: What you're talking about is an Africa-wide problem, which yourself and everybody else is a victim. It's due to western education which is not fit for the training of an African mindset. Western education train us to pass exams, instead of teaching us to conceptualize a subject/topic. So, at the end we're just making photocopy of education from Britain and France, instead of learning on our own terms. There's no real education happening anywhere in Africa. Our government even made it worse in Nigeria due to underfunding of education. Africa is on a looooooong thing. 4 Likes |

monacobull: THIS SOUNDS LIKE A "COCK AND BULL" STORY TO ME. BESIDES YOUR WRITE UP ON THIS POST IS TERRIBLE, for instance you write "im" instead of I'm or I am; also Its taking a lot of effort for me to contain INSTEAD OF It's taking a lot.... or It is taking a lot.... As the first person singular you are suppose to say "I" but more often you write "i" instead. Therefore I conclude that if your story is true and you are a graduate too working in "whatever" multi-national you claim, then YOU NEED TO WORK ON YOURSELF TOO. 7 Likes |
