Correction, 30 of those inshore patrol boats have already been delivered. The Navy is expecting to take delivery of 70 more vessels half are coming in from local suppliers while 35 are coming in from foreign vendors.

How come the navy is faster than the army in local content? Amazing, ths army gets a bigger annual budget all the time. The army just woke up now 2016 to step up beyond DICON level, with the new medium industry defense hardware manufacturing complex to be built urgently this year, likely to produce a lot of Russian weapons under license. I would love to see them produce Nigerian variants of 14.5mm, 23mm, 30mm cannon calibres, D-30 artillery and MT-LB tracked APC with 30mm cannon and 40mm AGL plus a PKT 7.65 mm machine gun to make it a cheap IFV of just $500,000 per unit, desert and mud land terrain mobile night combat capable high firepower armoured troop carrier that can travel around very well in those harsh terrain of North East Nigeria and the entire Sahel up to Sahara....force projection plus homeland defence combination.

The guys in Bama were just a part of the entire operations. Besides those boys had been fighting continuously, and deserved at that point to travel light.

The boys in Yobe and Adamawa sectors always wore their plate carriers.

Reaction.

Unsustainable. Ops will start to wind-down soon.
We have seen reactions before, reaction would have wind down when the mastermind was killed in an airstrike, So far KDF has vacated from 4 camps in Somalia and relocated somewhere else in what looks like a new strategy, and additional battalions are being sent, in fact, it was just yesterday that CDF said something like, "its payback time"..... if you wanna call it reaction, then this will be one long reaction, cause its just getting started

lives are worth more than 8kg. You already saddled up with 40kg, 8kg don't bite much.

That 8kg can also cost you a life, also I never said the SANDF don't have body armour, but your pic proves what im saying, How many mags do you think you can fit on to that vest of yours compared to a M83 battle jacket?

he did withdraw $740 million from his central bank though. Rember the deal was a package deal, it could have included alot of things wich are not public knowlegde...

He also got flight simulators and after the acquisition, he moved the main airbase from entebe airport to a military base and satelite image shows preparation for expansion of the base, anyway if we had advanced ISR and upgraded our fighters to precision strike capability... hehe, let me not imagin
that rumour was started by south Africa media outlets, Venezuela bought 12 for $480 million dollars

?? The SANDF bulletproof vests can only carry 4+ 1 in the rifle!

The M83 can easily carry 14 +1

Look at the pic, if our bulletproof vests were able to carry so many rounds, then why are the soldiers in the pic wearing M83 webbing over the bulletproof vests from YOUR picture?

Yes they do, I don't know what type.

Some of the carry Kevlar (refer to picture), instead of plate.

There's some type of bullet resistant polymer material some of them carry. I don't know what they are called, refer to picture below.

Anyone has an idea what this material is called or made out of?
Kevlar, that usually the material found in bulletproof vests.

Sure...... We would definitely see a lot of licensed produced Russian, Chinese arms.

The Navy is always innovate, technologically advanced, and more modern. The Navy has been pushing local content since 2004, while Army always seems to be lost.

I just want to see a modern, all terrain, Day and night, all weather Infantry support vehicle built for the Army.

Primarily, i really want to see Proforce Defence supported. The company has an impressive range of vehicles, and for them to succeed, the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, have to be seen deploying Proforce vehicles.

plates are mostly made of ceramic ,which is lighter than steel armour plates but also expensive
