Badema:Cutting OPEC's output alone wouldn't amount to much if major non-OPEC producers (Russia) continues with its output. While Saudi is battle ready for the current prices, other members such as Nigeria & Venezuela are feeling the heat. OPEC is now trying to cooperate with Russia on a possible deal and it was the 'positive' response from the Russian Oil Minister that pushed up prices during the week. The speculations, forecast & predictions continues and only time will tell. Meanwhile, the linkage between crude oil and LNG prices is about 70% (said Mr Babs during a Senate hearing last week). The rise or fall of crude prices does not immediately affect LNG prices, it however does in the long run. My question is, is it oil prices that is holding NLNG from concluding this recruitment or something else? Happy weekend! |

https://www.mckinseyenergyinsights.com/insights/positive-outlook-for-lng.aspx From the look of things the future of lng isn't compromised by the current trend of oil price. |
Re: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by Badema: 12:35pm On Jan 29, 2016 |
Crr7: Quite true, LNG prices are index at a percentage to a 6 month old Crude price, it is likely that even if crude prices rise after a new price is set, it will take another 6 months to be effective. This can as well be a reason to painstakingly delay the recruitment process, however, it is my firm believe that the process will reach to a logical conclusion soon, as there are feelers crude prices will go up in weeks. |

all this talk of Q3, Q4 2016, Q2 2017, who knows if we are even the ones suggesting to the coy when to push the recruitment to. We might just be hurting ourselves with all these Q-talk and speculations. I'd rather that we stopped mentioning timelines and let things take their natural course.. #opinion |

Most info dropped last year went all wrong. So, I don't buy into any speculations. Someone came up with how the list was ready and how the number was distributed among the 36 states and the FCT. It was all thrash! LoL! Let's forget about when the next mails would drop in and focus on how we can build this country as youths. Has this APC government performed up to expectations? Are we having the change they promised? 2 Likes |

As far as I am concerned they are just using the so-called anti-corruption stance to keep the populace distracted from the real havoc going on in the economy. 1 Like |

I really do think the government is trying and really working hard, they have been trying to be careful in decision making. Yes, due to the oil price fall there have been serious struggle to sustain the value of the naira, but objectively we would see that this particular challenge is not unique to us. The finance minister of Russia had to redo his budget 3 times. Kuwait benchmarked her 2016 budget at about 70dollars which is so so unrealistic as crude oil is projected to dip further to as low as 20 dollars per barrel. The US economy has done very well under the Obama administration, hence the strength of the dollar, their dependence on crude importation has greatly reduced. 1 million barrel of crude oil in excess supply daily. Unfortunately we will have to pay for the many years of bad leadership in the past. But I really think the Buhari government should devalue the naira to reflect the current reality. I am yet to understand the arguements against the devaluation cos a lot of people are just making money off the nigerian economy by bringing in dollars changing it to naira at the parallel market and pay in the naira back into their account for dollar transfers abroad. So it means one can make more dollars without a single economic activity other than doing business with a currency exchanger....not good for us 2 Likes |

whatsupguys: You call the present cabinet the best team we've ever had? Like seriously? I know Pat Utomi for one is better than Kemi Adéoṣùn. Lai Mohammed best Minister of Information? Frank Nweke Jr performed miles better. Abeg let's not fall for that politics bait that was thrown here. We will just argue tire. I am anti-Buhari until he probes Babangida, Abacha, Abdulsalam and Obasanjo. Add Tinubu and Amaechi to that list. Until that day, all this so-called anti-corruption stance is exactly that, just a stance. 7 Likes |
Re: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by whatsupguys: 4:28pm On Jan 31, 2016 |
airsaylongcon:But Pat Utomi has strongly defended economic decisions taken by the current administration that they are moving in the right direction. So it means President Buhari is doing it right, Kemi Adeosun isn't that bad afterall. Airsaylongcon, you cannot fight the enemies within and without at the same time, they will join hands and synergize. If truly Amaechi, Tinubu etc are corrupt as alledged by you, their own time is coming. The war against corruption however we perceive it has begun, with time 'I believe' everyone will be alright. I know say we not fit gree lailai, but we need you guys in the opposition so the sitting government won't relax but rather think out of the box like they are doing now to salvage the economic situation the ineptitude of our past leadership has plunged us into. |
Re: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by airsaylongcon: 4:42pm On Jan 31, 2016 |
whatsupguys: Kemi is still a novice and I can tolerate that. How about the Chief liar of Nigeria? Let us seperate victimisation from corruption. Amaechi was indicted by a panel of enquiry in Rivers State. What did APC do about it? Throw it under the carpet. One must not only be seen to be fighting corruption as evidenced by the numerous arrests and humiliation of PDP members, one must also actually fight corruption by uprooting the witch within. airsaylongcon: Errrhmmm! Lemme just come in here, speaking about numerous arrests; Sen. Yerima, Brig. Gen. Jafaru Isa, Gov.Murtala Nyako, Alh. Aminu Baba Kusa are clearly not PDP card carrying members but yet under EFCC investigation currently. Brother, I think sincerely speaking the fight on corruption has to start from somewhere, let's just all agree we need corruption out of our system, then we can develop a TOR later. 2 Likes |
