I want to remove my score in an exam cos I was scored "F". I did not sit for the exam, cos I had emergency before the commencement of the paper and I explained this to my invigilators. One of the invigilators told me to sign out the attendance sheet and write my name on my answer sheet, that he will write a report about me.infact he sympathised with and even offer to assist with transportation, but declined and told him I will be fine. When the result came out last week I was scored " F" in that course, what should I do? |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by dayjahvoo: 6:48pm On Jan 31, 2016 |
samguru: You signed out on the attendance sheet which, to the system, indicates that you wrote the exam. Whether you submitted a blank answer script wouldn't matter. What you should have done is, looked for a way to drop the course. |

Wumine: The School has long discontinued photo upload on the page in the attached image. You probably didn't upload a photograph when filling out the application form. It's this photograph that would've been displayed on the student portal. Sorry, but only the IT guy at your SC can assist you in this regard. ebiye55: You're welcome. |

MimiHANS:from d above statement does it mean dt NOUN do conduct written/oral interview for phd students. secondly, if u hv ur certificate do they still require transcript or transcript will be required only when u hv statement of result. just curious for further planning. using unilag as a case study, for their postgraduate programmes, transcrpt is only requred when u dnt hv cert. but only wt ur statemenf of result. pls can u clarify these thirdly, did my first degree in edu/biology, masters in measurement nd evaluation bt d courses I saw on NOUN for phd in edu among others are edu planning nd administration, science edu. which of of these can I apply for wt my qualification. note: there are few courses there but these are the two I hv interest in. Advice highly needed thanks |

divinemandate: •NOUN do conduct 'Oral' interview for prospective PhD applicants. Your PhD interviewer needs to be sure that you are academically capable and can rise to the challenges. They will want to know that you are serious about undertaking further study and that you have researched the course or area of study research that you are interested in. •For PhD, your transcript will be highly appreciated, with it, your worth/academic prowess would be evaluated (a minimum score average of not less than 60% or a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale). •Regarding how to choose a PhD course that is right for you and/or related to your course of study, contact the PhD Programme Coordinator/Course Coordinator at your proposed Study Centre. |

Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by dayjahvoo: 6:23pm On Feb 01, 2016 |
fizho: That depends on if the failed course is a compulsory or elective course (You'll see either a "C" or an "E" on your course form) If it's a compulsory course, you can't graduate without passing it. When you say you've done 30units, does that include the failed course? or 30units without the failed course? |

Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by dave121: 10:38pm On Feb 01, 2016 |
kaptinphilz:It is a 3-unit course. The total questions was 120 and not 150. It will be a great error for them to have divided a-120-question course by 150. You may not be far from the truth because (88*70)/150 adding to the TMA of 28 will give a 69 (B). This is unfair and a great error because a-120-question course should be divided by 120 and not 150. What can be done in this situation? |

Please, can one apply for PHD with MBA? |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by MimiHANS(m): 7:10am On Feb 02, 2016 |
Wumine: All MBAs are terminal, that means it won't give you a direct offer to PhD. Executive MBAs are usually short like two weeks or less, it's always expensive and won't grant you a direct access to PhD as well. If you are dead set of getting your PhD and know research is your passion, I would recommend going the MSc route (if it is indeed research focused). There are other people in other departments that did come from research oriented Masters programs, and they are a little ahead of the game because they already understand research methods, where to MBA folks, research is brand new. |
