My roommate invited me to her church singles programme which will take place sometimes next week. I asked her to gist me about the programme and she started with all these "will of God" talk, how to get that particular guy/girl you have been destined to marry or date I dnt believe in all those kind of things she is in a relationship with a 'brother' which to her is her own will of God, i have a boyfriend that i love, and to me he is my perfect match, my own will of God cos i dnt see myself with someone else, but this girl keeps talking as if God himself will take you by hand and hand you over to your partner She even said something like the will of God for you might be someone you dont even love at all, but once you get married the love will grow simply because he/she is the will of God for u. Can u imagine? Getting married to someone i dont love cos of which will? She said a guy has been on her neck since and she LIKES him, but she said NO simply because he is not the will of God for her, how is she sure the guy is not the will? Is it written on foreheads? Now she is with her supposed Gods will o but still liking that guy that has been asking her out. I believe that once you love someone and you are convinced in your heart that that is the right person then its just that person! Marriages dont fail cos people dont marry their will of God, marriages fail cos some people marry for wrong reason, they marry cos she is beautiful, he is rich, he is tall and handsome, he is good in bed!!! Ridiculous reasons for getting married is what destroys marriages not will. This lady is so annoying that she strongly believes that church wedding is the only recognised wedding, that sex after our own traditional marriage is a sin in God sight, but i made her understand that even before the church wedding, the pastor must be sure that the parents of the bride have joined her together with the groom before proceeding with the church wedding.

But to your question, there's no such thing as God destined partner for anyone. It's just like assuming one can find a perfect match when there's no such thing.

Anyone who ticks our right boxes and whose personality and character dovetails with ours can become our destined partner. Let her keep deceiving herself. No such thing as destined partner except to religious folks.

There is what we call "permissive will",this can happen if u meet someone you actually love and that marriage could be without any major issue till God do u part.God allows us to make our choices and He could bless those choices. But if we always pray that the will of God be done in our lives,then God can plan out "dates" and lead us to his will for us.(thats the perfect will) the beauty about this kind of marriage is that even in tough times they blend perfectly,there level of" soul mateship" is higher.The could easily fit into certain plan of God with little prayer.

But let's face it,God rules in the affairs of Man.But we sometimes relegate him to the corner because we fill that "We have eyes to see in this matter "

My advice to all is just commit your ways onto God and he will direct your part. And once he directs your part, then that's the will of God for you.
In the course of directing your part he might work on your mentality to like certain attribute in whoever you are looking for and could create the occasion where both of you could meet.
