It just came 2 my knowledge that sunnypar, a committed follower and contributor of the "strictly for those interested in teaching jobs" had been banned 4 sometime now.

I'll confess that truly, he had been enmeshed in "beefs" with some other equally dedicated followers of the highly esteemed thread, but d fact remains that his contributions to d high standard of the thread can't be discountenanced. I believe we shouldn't throw away d baby with the bath water.

In my humble opinion, I believe he'll be of much more value as a member of the thread viz a viz depopulating d unemployment market with his input.

I'll be most grateful if he is unbanned.

I once applied for an opening through Jobberman but it failed to deliver. I had to search for the firm on google just to get to the vacancy again. This time, I was successful in my application. I've also applied for numerous positions through Jobberman and is yet to get an invite from those firms. At some points I keep wondering if they are real.

Same here Karl! Never for once have I received an acknowledgement from the coy after applying through jobberman. They'll (jobberman) only send you a mail that connotes hopefulness whereas in reality it is hopeless!

I don't go through them for any reason anymore.

I've applied severally too through Jobberman and doubted there was any truth in them forwarding one's CV. But I once received an email correspondence from a firm I applied to through them. It's an evidence they still forward CVs though I can't comment on the assurance that they always do so.
But what I do most often now is look up an opening I see on Jobberman elsewhere and contact the HR directly if I can get their contact. That gives me more assurance than Jobberman's automated response

I don't think one should be very concerned about duplicity of application except where explicitly stated in the instructions...especially when you're dealing with Jobberman. My recommendation is in that order...
1. Contact HR directly and forget Jobberman
2. Apply through Jobberman by error first and follow up with another application directly to HR
3. Apply through Jobberman only and follow up with prayer and fasting

After various applications without any invite, I gave up on them. I can't say they are not reliable because some may have gotten jobs through them but i'll rather search the vacancy online and apply directly.
