There is this different passion with which u defend players like: Dominic Solanke, Obafemi Martins, Taye Taiwo, Juwon Oshaniwa, Tiago Ilori, Sadiq Umar, Odubajo, Raheem Lawal. I suspected u were from a particular part of the country. And i was right. grin

Bros dnt follow d way of Onigbinde o. U remember what he did at the 2002 WC?
He later did same as d coach of 3SC a year later. The results were nt good o. grin

Hmm! You are still trying to guess. grin From our conversation here you can never know where i come from because i have passionately defended all players across every region. And na talk dey bring talk.

It all started when i included Tiago Ilori, Chuck Aneke, Obafemi Martin, Moses Odubanjo and Dominic Solanke on my list but you said you rated Wilfred Ndidi and Omerue above Tiago Ilori and Chuks Aneke. Even when statistics proved otherwise. You even mentioned one guy that hardly see game time in Belgium league over Dominic Solanke. Why?

Secondly, you said our youths system has produced better players than David Alaba. I told you to name players better than him. You mentioned Emmanuel Amuneke, Kanu Nwankwo, Austin Okocha etcetera hmmm! I think i am beginning to guess where you come from. grin grin

Thirdly, When Umar Sadiq began to score goals, i insisted that he should be given the chance to prove himself but you insisted that the lad should start with U20. But now that Kelechi Iheanacho is scoring goals you praise him to highest heaven. I can now rightly guess that you are from...... grin grin

Onigbinde...... I will come back to that later. grin

Arsenal Ink Winger Aaron Eyoma As Youth Relevance Grows
by Josh Sippie

Aaron Eyoma

Arsenal welcome Aaron Eyoma to the club as he has signed his first professional contract at the age of 19. The Nigerian is continuing the trend of growing youth relevance.

Arsene Wenger pointed out that unless Lionel Messi knocks on his door looking for a deal, Arsenal is done in the January transfer window. Mohamed Elneny is the man. But that doesn’t mean that they are done making “signings.”

Nigerian 19 year old Aaron Eyoma has inked his first professional deal with the club, as confirmed by Arsenal’s official twitter account. The highly touted winger joins a growing trend of youth and Nigeria in North London.

Aaron Eyoma has signed his first professional contract with the club: http://arsn.al/pH5vFv

Eyoma was a prominent feature of the U18 squad last season, as his versatility took him all over the pitch. He scored five times for that Arsenal U18 side and scored another in just two appearances with the UEFA Youth League (via Arsenal.com).

Now 19 years old, he has been a sporadic member of the U21 side. In four minutes of play in the U21 Premier League side, he has managed an assist as his habit of making an impact could not be stifled by his limited opportunities. He has played 122 minutes in the U21 UEFA Youth League as well. However, his only start came at right back in Arsenal U21’s 2-1 loss to Dinamo Zagreb where he played the full 90 minutes.

At the U19 level, he has made six appearances and netted once (stats via Transfermarkt).

Despite the limited appearances, there is still plenty to be excited about with young Eyoma. He is a player much like his countryman Alex Iwobi, who uses his strength and direct approach to outwit and outmuscle opposing defenders. His eye for goal is not something to be taken lightly, as no matter where he goes, he contributes to the ball hitting the back of the net.

His versatility is also something to be valued highly, as he has played everything from right back to right wing. Granted, Arsenal has a massive surplus of right wings, they can always use more youth talent.

Eyoma continues a couple growing trends at Arsenal. For starters, he is Nigerian, which given the emergence of Alex Iwobi and the newest signings of Samuel Chuckwueze and Kelechi Nwakali, looks to be a growing crop at Arsenal.
Next: Has Chuba Akpom Turned The Corner?

Second, he is an internal signing as opposed to an external signing. Wenger loves his youth talents and Eyoma is just another one to keep an eye on.

Oghenekaro Etebo Transfer From Warri Wolves To CD Feirense Is A Done Deal, Says

The proposed transfer of Nigeria U23 international Oghenekaro Etebo to Portuguese setup Clube Desportivo Feirense is very much alive, with the transfer window set to officially close in the country in the next 48 hours.

Etebo’s adviser, Endurance Ogbemudia, has stressed that the Dream Team VI midfielder’s transfer to the Segunda Liga side is already in the bag, having penned a two-and-a-half-year deal, and he will be jetting out to Portugal in the coming days.

“Etebo is still expecting his visa from the Portuguese embassy, by the grace of God if the visa comes out he’ll travel to Portugal,”
Ogbemudia explained to allnigeriasoccer.com.

“He has already signed a two-and -a-half year contract effective January 10,2016 to June 30, 2018. The deal is 99.99 percent concluded, CD Feirense have all documentations.”

The former Warri Wolves star had been linked with possible moves to Esperance, CS Sfaxien and Ismaily before he committed his future to CD Feirense.

“One of the major reasons Etebo rejected those offers is that the owner of Feirense had a long chat with him and told him of his plans for the club.

“The offer from Feirense was more realistic than the other options available. He explained that he wants to bring the club to limelight by signing Nigerian stars.

“They want to gain promotion to the elite division at the end of this season, Kunle Soname is truthful to his words,”Ogbemudia concluded.

Etebo rose to prominence at the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in December and was subsequently rewarded for his outstanding performance, with CAF naming him the Most Promising Talent In Africa early last month.

Plsssss Sir, Don't talk to me about being busy. Do you even know what that word actually means? #smiles

Anyway, thanks goodness you said "months ago". Because months ago also, midway through 2015, on the New-Zealand 2015 U-20 thread, I saw this same lady attacked from all angles..... Abuses were rained on her also.

Of course, she can be offensive sometimes or oftentimes with words but ask yourself this: "What's the source of all Safari's involvement in altercations? Is she always the instigator? Have you seen how guys talk to her on sports threads from months ago??"

I did call her to order on that thread but I did so "subtly". YOU DON'T CORRECT WRONG ATTITUDE WITH WRONG ATTITUDE..... Throwing insults her way all the time is never the answer. Sometimes, she talks that way as a mode of self-defence against the male folks she mostly come up against in Sports threads... IT'S NOT EASY BEING A LADY IN AN AREA THAT GUYS HAVE "UNKNOWINGLY" MADE THEIR OWN.

In psychology, when you wanna show someone that something is wrong or that the person is better than what's being noticed by others, you don't have to show hate or insult that person. All you gotta do is "PROJECT THE RIGHY ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR" CONSISTENTLY towards that person. That way, the person will get the message. This is just one way of doing this BUT THIS WAS THE RIGHT WAY AS REGARDS MISS SAFARI.

So, take it as patronage if you like because you don't understand that it was psychology at work.
#smiles

Do you think saying, "Good riddance to bad rubbish" solved anything??

Why are you guys making it look like Safarigirl is some "NL BOGEYMAN"??

Why didn't you just let it go? You said you loved her back then? How is that even possible? Did you make any attempt to reach out to her "in wisdom"? Did you?

Now all of a sudden you "Hate her"...... Now was there love in the first place??

I don't wanna derail this thread because some Nice people do the best they can to keep this thread going in the right direction by posting relevant news articles..... Ops like Joseph1013, BlackAlbino6, Terzurum5, Orkpekyandega, NLban, Justiz5, and so on.

Analysts like TheGoodJoe, Tbaba1234, BVV (Sir BascoVanVeli) and Icon4s (Baba Experience.... With whom I've had keen differences) keep this thread interesting also. As do other forumites...

It's always disheartening to come online and see JUST ONE PERSON BEING USED AS SCAPEGOAT AS IF THE REST OF US HAVE NEVER HAD DIFFERENCES WITH PEOPLE.......

This has to stop..... Taking your words, A WORD IS "INDEED" ENOUGH FOR THE "WISE"

Defend? grin Until their report card comes out at the end of the season there is nothing to defend because Dominic Solanke could also score 5 goals in a match. grin So, let's wait and see.

Sir, What do you mean when you said 'don't go the way of Onigbinde'? Because i have been trying to figure out what you meant by that.

Onigbinde started with the National team in 1983 and he was the one that discovered Rasheed Yekini and Peter Rufai prior to the AFCON Nations Cup in 1984. He took his team to the finals but unfortunately he lost in the final to Cameroon after he dropped Rufai and played a basket.

He went to Shooting_Stars_F.C the same year and took them to the finals of African Champions Cup. And that was the first time a Nigerian clubside ever achieved that feat of getting to the finals.

2002 World Cup (i don lose interest for Nigerian football then after the disappointment of France 1998 hence I showed no interest) which i did't really follow hence I didn't know what happened then. You can pls tell me. But I know he brought Vicent Enyeama and Joseph Yobo to the National team.

As you can see, I don't understand what you meant.

As you can see, I don't understand what you meant.

Recall his comment when asked abt y he took Adepoju(hu was virtually called back frm retirement) and Opabunmi to the 2002 WC when it was obvious they were nt good enough at that time to make d team.Remember he dropped Finidi George, Sunday Oliseh, Tijani Babangida and Victor Ikpeba. The Nigerian press tagged him a tribalist nt jst bc he picked Opabunmi and Adepoju ahead of the above mentioned Golden generation Eagles bt bc of the ethnocentric reason behind his decision. It was d Ibadan connection though Onigbinde is from Modakeke bt was based in Ibadan jst like Adepoju and Opabunmi.

U remember what he said when appointed Shooting stars coach for the 2003/2004 season? He said he wanted to build a 3SC team that will comprise only of the Yoruba players. 3SC managed to escape relegation that season and Onigbinde was fired grin.
Have u noticed he is d last Yoruba to coach d Super Eagles.

Although i still respect that man a lot. U know he laid d foundation for the rise of Gambian football.
. Chief icon, ikpeba was past his prime in 2002, I can remember his outrageous"AGO" in our third place match in mali 2002 AFCON. Opabunmi was a big prospect then, tipped for greatness then jst like hw we re tipping kelechi nw. Oliseh was facing disciplinary issues with the NFA then. The player he should ve picked then was Yakubu but he preferred to pick Barthlomew ogbeche because of the scissor kick against paraguay in a meaningless friendly only for him to flatter to deceive *in Ade ojeikere's voice* Onigbinde picked many igbo players in dat team compared to the yorubas or y'all wanted an all igbo national team.. Christopher justice jst disappeared after the WC........ Modified

Was Adepoju nt past his prime then?
Opabunmi featured at d 2001 U17 WC & in 2002 he was no where near compared to Iheanacho is today. Onigbinde simply said Adepoju (whom he tagged his joker that he never ended up using @ dat world cup) & Opabunmi where his boys. Simple.

U cannot tell me Opabunmi and Adepoju at that time were better than Yakubu Ayegbeni and Tijani Babangida hu he dropped then.

Onigbinde was accused of tribalism even by d then NFA officials.

And can u defend d comment he made as d 3SC coach in 2003,

Unfortunately for Saviour Godwin, he is always on the bench of a comparatively small Club. While the rest are in better Clubs and receiving trainings from the best technical team and always get challenged and inspired by the the work rate of good players.

I know his predicament but the boy is a fighter. He does not give up no matter the obstacles thrown at him. The other guys are in top facilities and equipments, training with top managers but Godwin can train harder than them with what he has.

As long as he puts in his work in training and outworks himself everyday, he can catch up with them.

Reminds me of a young coach in Port Harcourt who runs an academy, Palanto FC. He told one of his young teams "Oyibo have all the gadgets and equipments to make them stars. So you do all the training and become stars."

Godwin is a machine. He just have to keep his faith up and keep training.

Taking your words, A WORD IS "INDEED" ENOUGH FOR THE "WISE"

na wa o....you get time me

@ mrfellory, you hate me? Hate is a very strong word to use on someone you barely know and have never met. Did I ever attack you? Did I kill someone close to you? Have I stolen from you? Does being stubborn and opinionated warrant bing hated by someone who only know an internet personality.

You all should watch the terms you use,you may dislike certain traits, but when you hate someone, you pur yourself in a bad light. If you are a Christian, you can never make heaven when you hate someone. I have altercations with many people here, but I have never attacked anyone someone else was attacking, nor have I arrived weeks after an altercation to post anything vile at one person. If you were as buy as you claim, you would not have time to read through altercations

And I can say that I certainly hate nobody, I may meet some people in reality and like their offline personalities, it is folly to judge anyone on what is said on a forum.

You don't even have your picture online, I have mine right there, anyone can see me and for those who hate me, you can even block me. I'm not talking smack and hiding my face.

97% of people who attack me here don't even have the guts to put a face to their words.

He was bound to swim into the Premier League eventually, and it has to be one of the top teams as he has in LA Liga and Bundesliga.

As Arsenal plan to have Wenger as a coach till he dies or gets a stroke, title rivals was the easy choice.

Some have accused him of racism; hard to prove because he uses Coman, Costa, Boateng and Alaba....if Iheanacho is good enough, I doubt Pep will just shiiit on his talent.

I do not think Guardiola is racist but I think he likes footballers who play his kind of football. For instance, Seydou Keita was a legendary skilled player but he preferred Busquets.

Seydou Keita had more skill, pass range (almost as good as Xavi) and Seydou Keita was a better defender than Busquets. Guardiola preferred Busquets because he plays the Spanish way, pass and move, pass and move.

People saw it as Racism because of the massive preference of Busquets over Seydou Keita and Yaya Toure. I do not think it was racism but preference to style of play.

Iheanacho: Why I don't overdo goal celebration

Manchester City Striker Kelechi Iheanacho

Manchester City man of the moment Kelechi Iheanacho has disclosed why he doesn't celebrate to much when he scores goals.

He said he thinks that will derail him from being focused on the job on the pitch.

"I don't celebrate too much because I think I have to focus on the game to concentrate and work hard so you can get more goals in the game," Iheanacho said.

The FIFA U17 World Cup winner at UAE 2013 has scored eight goals in all competitions this season for Manchester City.

Thank your African brothers, Yaya Toure and Bony for giving you that golden advice. The goal you scored is gone think of scoring another than celebrating the one you scored.

I used to have is not property.

Thank God I am not the first to say this. I second this statement.

Call me the Master Conservatist if you want. WE ARE NOT AMONG THE FAVORITES. I know Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Germany would be ranked higher than Nigeria to lift this one.

Where Nigeria lacks behind has not been in talent but in organization. I think we have the talents but our management of our teams has been a problem.

Look at how the NFF treated Keshi, Amunike and Siasia. These kind of attitudes cause distractions.

If our NFF step up in organization, I see Nigeria as one of the top teams in football. I never one day doubted our talents.

And can u defend d comment he made as d 3SC coach in 2003,
. He never used Adepoju because he thought there was nothing to play for after d loss to d swedes just wanted to use d game against england to test new players. What of the eric ejiofor that he took to d tournament (ojekeire no like dis guy) dat shitty defender all because he was able to outmuscle some ismailly fc players the guy was chosen. Pius ikedia was selected because he outperformed babaginda in training and ikedia is a yoruba right?... Comparing players frm one generation to another generation is very wrong because football is dynamic, tactics in one era may not be used in anoda era, I laff when people start comparing maradona to messi. Most coaches lik to take senior players to a major tourney so dat they can serve as a source of inspiration to the younger ones... Barthlomew ogbeche was the exception and few other players eg ejiofor, benedict akwuegbu in that star studded team. The team never really gelled cos they were hurriedly assembled because of our NFA, missed the ishaya mark aku led board

Stop looking into the awful things people say about you. As much as some people do not like your attitude, or the way you react, others are okay with it and care about you.

Honestly, look for the good people see in you. One thing I know about you is that you are smart and logical. Being a girl in a male dominated area, you try hard to defend your points and people read into it as rudeness.

Please take the jabs at you lightly and know when you go on your thread strikes, there are some looking to read your words.

Keep it in your mind your a wonderful person.
