Thiza: "IN a speech during the graduation ceremony at the National Defence College in Abuja on August 8, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari directed the Ministry of Defence to urgently articulate a proposal for the establishment of a Military Industrial Complex to produce weapons and other equipment for the country’s armed forces and reduce reliance on reluctant foreign suppliers. Similarly, some fabrication Units at the sprawling Ajaokuta Steel Company could be part of the Complex. The Nigerian Navy Dockyards in Lagos and Port Harcourt, the Nigerian Air Force engineering and research facilities where ‘Gulma,’ the drone was developed, the Nigerian Aluminium Smelting Company and the country’s industrial research institutes, could collectively be brushed up and turned into the nucleus of the launch pad for the Military Industrial Complex." http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/08/nigerias-proposed-military-industrial-complex/ |

agaugust: The ugly Igirigi. A bad knockoff of a bad design, the Streit Cougar. Are you still peddling the lie that the Igirigi is an indigenous Nigerian design? Cause the truth is that all you do is assemble it, under licence. Not that you do a good job at that either. Look at your workspace. Shocking.

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 12:08am On Feb 03, 2016 |
agaugust: So, after all these years, you never knew that the ugly Igirigi is not yours? Shameful. http://www.armored-cars.com/company.php?p=global For example, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) Arms Transfers Database, Nigeria last year produced 10 Streit Cougar armoured personnel carriers (APCs) under license as the Igirigi. The Igirigi is assembled by the Nigerian Army Engineering Corps and was initially thought to be a wholly indigenous design. http://itweb.co.za/mobilesite/defenceweb/home/item_id-38580/ http://cameroon-concord.com/news/headlines/item/2889-nigeria-acquiring-new-and-second-hand-military-hardware https://twitter.com/ofoegbukelechi/status/685158163860074497 FAKE CLAIMS BY THE PATHETIC NIGERIANS ON THIS SITE. THE UGLY IGIRIGI WAS NEVER YOURS TO BEGIN WITH. IT'S A DESIGN BY THE STREIT GROUP. YOU ONLY BORROWED IT AND AREN'T EVEN DOING A GOOD JOB ON IT. |

agaugust: 1. Who says that is up to date footage? 2. A plane does not need to be airworthy to be parked on a runway for a propaganda video Official sources say 7 Number of sorties flown adds up to 7 You have 7 operational platforms, deal with it |

DieVluit: Wrong information !!!! False information !!!!! Error loaded source cooked up by envious South African journalists !!! PHOTO 1 : Canadian Streit. Couger APC design PHOTO 2 : Nigerian army original prototype Igirigi design PHOTO 3 : Nigerian army final product Igirigi design PHOTO 4 : Nigerian army original Igirigi at developmental stage of design Now tell us how the Igirigi design is same as Couger....meanwhile, that South African website propaganda failed to stop Igirigi export to Libya as Nigeria begins to knock South Africa out of the middle east and african LATV market !!!! If Igirigi is the same as Couger, why did Igirigi have a two stage development process starting from scratch with a unique prototype ? "The Igirigi Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) is the Nigerian Army’s locally manufactured armoured personnel carrier. Designed and manufactured by the army Corps of Engineers , the APC was first introduced to the media during the 2012 Nigeria Army Day celebrations (NADCEL). While actual specs of the vehicle are still undisclosed, observers noted the remote control weapons station, and its IED deflecting V shaped hull. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, said the local production of APC had saved the nation at least 30 per cent of the cost of the foreign version and that the unveiling of the APC was part of the ongoing reform in the military and in line with the transformation agenda of the Jonathan administration." http://africanspotlight.com/2015/03/01/photos-igirigi-made-nigeria-armoured-personnel-carriers-boko-haram-war/ #WRECKED. . 1 Like

agaugust: No one cares how it looks, except you since you keep bringing it up dumbass Wow, unstabilized guns without optics or FCS crudely welded onto a vehicle... so impressive! You are really saying that it is better than a Ratel? Your neighbor says Ratel is better |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 12:26am On Feb 03, 2016 |
agaugust: Fact is that Igiri is a copy - if igugug is a Nigerian design, then the Badger is a South African design Do you really think you have knocked us out of the market? With a handfull of these licence built vehicles? Dude, we just sold Ratels to YOUR NEIGHBOR you cant even corner the market in your own region and you think you can compete globally, Ratel is used by 12 countries around the world!! You need to get back in touch with reality. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 12:30am On Feb 03, 2016 |
agaugust: As expected, there are claims that the sources are false and envious. Luckily, these are secondary sources and the primary source is SIPRI. Also, "under licence" means you will have the right to give the Cougar another name and to also include some variants. You probably went for the cheapest licence you could find; and that was one from Streit. So pathetic that they haven't even thought of withdrawing it if you will work in a workspace like what I posted. LOL, all these months you kept claiming as yours what was in fact not yours. 1 Like |
