The leadership tussle in the Osun State Council of Obas yesterday led to an indefinite postponement of the monthly meeting of the council.

It was gathered that when the advance team of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi brought his special chair to a vantage position to preside over the meeting, they were allegedly resisted by the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.

But the Ooni’s men were said to have told Oba Aromolaran that they were sent by the monarch to put the chair at that particular spot.

The disagreement brought the yet to kick off meeting to an abrupt end.

It was gathered that Governor Rauf Aregbesola had been briefed about the incident and the monarchs were summoned to the Government House for a meeting to resolve the crisis.

Oba Aromolaran had last year at one of the meetings of the council said he was unanimously elected the substantive chairman of the council. He said he was nominated by the Ataoja of Osogbo and other monarchs supported the nomination.

However, the monarch was said to have introduced himself as the vice chairman of the council at the December 2015 meeting which was the maiden meeting attended by the Ooni after his inauguration.

It was gathered that shortly after the governor’s brief meeting with the monarchs, Oba Ogunwusi was said to have travelled to Ilesa immediately apparently to make peace with Oba Aromolaran in his palace. At the meeting, Oba Aromolaran was said to have pledged his support to Oba Ogunwusi in his move to unite the Yoruba people.

At last, internal colonialism is going down in Yoruba land.

It has served its time and purpose and its time it's byegone for ever.

I am a descendant of Olofin, and of the house of Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula.

The history that bind us did not make us subservient to each other... no.

It only bind us as one indivisible entity. The last of great Awo's 'unity' legacy.

Before colonialism and slave trade, each Yoruba domain minds its business.

The entities that existed at that time have no reason or weapons to go to war.

Today's history is foisted on our people because we are intellectually complacent.

Having monolithic than the rest, or military power than the rest, so it makes a place a numero uno?

That should make antique Egypt or Medo-Persia the origin of the world.

You can no longer sustain Yoruba history with mythology, the end of that era has come.

The era of the intellectual has just began, may the great Yoruba arise.

A kii wi sibe, ka Ku sibe.

I am igbo and I shouldn't comment on the matter what I find annoying is the term the writer used..summoned

How can a governor summon kings ....to me that's an insult ..he should have used a better word like invited or met with the kings at oba place but not summon

Pls we should be careful how we make our reports ...Summon is used when a superior calls a junior person
