Lol...funny!...I asked a question here some days ago about that "states you've visited" on the nysc form. never got any useful input but I kept on seeing irrelevant things,seriously...there is time for seriousness and for fun. maybe,after filling the form and waiting for our posting,we can catch fun..I absolutely hate being ignorant,hence my signing up to nairaland and being active here...Abeg,let's trash out useful issues here.

My brother, you're just thinking in the same line of thought as I do.

The way the schools perform their various activities (Like Unical my own school), Observation has made me understand that Its almost impossible for you to go for service without coming to your school first even though NYSC provides an online platform for getting your Call-Up Number and Letter.

For instance, Your certificate of graduation and the ID card which you are to use during the service year is provided within the week to camping.

Now the question is, how do you intend to get these things without going to school yourself Or are you planning to entrust such a responsibility to a friend, driver's way bill, an air line or whatever (since you think going to your distant school is a challenge) when obviously you know the risk and delay that can be associated with using any of those alternatives?

However, even though these facts are visible to everyone, NYSC also know that most PCMs (especially smart ones) will still need the Online printing of these letters (whether or not their school is 5 foots in front of their houses).

This is because PCMs usually have the challenge of having their call up letter mutilated, damaged or even lost prior to camping or challenge of having delay imposed by schools with respect to timely delivery of these letters (just like many schools including Unical who deliver these letters even two days after camping has started).

If the former be the case, how do you easily get a replacement for your mutilated, damaged or lost Call Up later withing a short time interval?

If the later be the case, what happens to a CM posted from Cross River to Sokoto who needs to travel by road requiring almost if not more than a full day journey to arrive at the state and thereafter, the camp ground?

MY ADVICE:
BROTHER, SISTER OR HERMAPHRODITE, PLEASE PAY THE SMALL N3000 TO AVOID STORIES THAT TOUCHES THE HEART!

the matter of which, which and which of the states to choose has been abolished by the President reason been that the aims and objectives of the NYSC which is UNITY FOR DIVERSITY is almost lost. statistics shows that majority of the prospective corp member /students do not want to serve in the north. Hence we urge all to be calm and pray to be posted to a very nice state and good PPA. i got this info from a senior staff in NYSC head quarters in ABUJA though this information has not been made public .

I heard from previous batches that people tried to outsmart nysc by filling in as many northern states as possible in that column. but I also heard it could backfire as nysc might pick one of those northern states. Now,I'm no computer wiz,but if you ask me,I'll say the software has been programmed to pick one state irrespective of which column you placed it whether in "preferred states"or "states visited".so in essence,it's only safe to say that,we also "crack" sense by picking sensible states in "states visited" just incase. it's just presumptions anyway.Nobody knows anything for now.

Nobody is trying to teach you romance here. People do things for different reason as much as they are wired.

So if somethings don't suit your persality, then concentrate on what defines your heart beat.

But remember, in the long haul, it all works for a common good and goal.
