affirmative, the end of your phone might be near!


Apple recently rolled out an update for its iOS 9 operating system and since then, Apple users who have repaired their phone with third party technicians have been faced with the menace of Error 53.



Apple claims that the error is some sort of security to protect their customers, but majority of their user with the updated iOS 9 have been complaining that the error renders their iPhone useless, and any data kept within is lost with no hope of retrieval.

A spokeswoman for the company said: “When an iPhone is serviced by an unauthorised repair provider, faulty screens or other invalid components that affect the touch ID sensor could cause the check to fail if the pairing cannot be validated. With a subsequent update or restore, additional security checks result in an ‘error 53’ being displayed … If a customer encounters an unrecoverable error 53, we recommend contacting Apple support.”

This means when Error 53 pops up on your iPhone, it spells doom and will render your handset worthless.

Though I am not really a fan of apple but I think they are the benchmark for other brands . apple do not really have service center in Nigeria and in most country because their product reliability is very high compare to most android device .

When you have a product that has a strong reliability , I.e out of 1000 batch , you only have 50 developing fault after purchase , why set up a service center for just fifty phones ? You get? .

Apple product most of the time are replaced when they get faulty , they do not allow for level 2 and level 3 repair .

I get ur point. Iphone users are very comfortable, such that, they can always buy another phone when one gets bad. Absence of service center might not be an issue.

But you have to realise that for Android manufacturers who think about the low, middle and high end users, apple who thinks only about the high end user can't be a benchmark. Just my thoughts.

Your points are noted and very valid. the truth Nigerians don't know is that you can not get a cheap phone and expect too much quality from it . it's never possible .


I actually base my standard on the number of returns each mobile brand have after purchase from the customer not considering if the brand should have premium or low end phone.
