What If she didn't inform d school of her disability how are they supposed to cater for her. Cause d system was made for people who can hear and speak. If she informed d school then maybe they would have made provisions for her learning. Like brail for the blind.

She has a valid case. Nigeria is the problem! we don't have a culture of suing offenders both humans and institutions that have trampled on our rights. So Am afraid she may not be lucky in getting a favorable judgment. In other climes, there are loads of such cases and the jury or court can rely or look at precedence from similar cases.

We hearing Impaired are facing discrimination from school, place of work, and even in our family. That is why we keep hoping and praying that the disability bill will be passed.



I was forced to cut off my studies at Hassan Usman Polytechnic Katsina some years back due to high level of discrimination.

Actually they don't

My argument goes thus:

Can they prove that her condition impedes her ability to learn?
If yes, to what extent?
Also, what steps did they take to assess her condition? I believe it is unconscionable, unfair and wicked to have expelled her without her assessing her condition. I understand that they do not have the facilities for disabled students but did they for once consider the possibility that she may be willing to provide those facilities herself?

The administrative decision should have been taken after talks from both sides, such a senstitive decision should not have been a one-sided argument.

When we have institutions of learning that cannot try to seek practical solutions to simple problem, then it is safe to say that Nigeria is doomed!!

I don't know what the Nigerian constitution says but I strongly believe that this should be classified as discrimination because it is a human rights issue.
