That implies a person who sins would die as a penalty for his sin. However thru Jesus, God can grant a repentant sinner, who has faith in Jesus everlasting life even after dying.

This scripture contradicts the teaching of immorality of the soul; those who teach that eternity must be spent, whether in heaven or hell, should look at this scripture again. To spend eternity we must have eternal life, which comes only thru faith in Jesus. Note that the above scripture does not say where the eternal life would be spent, but that it is given as a gift thru Jesus by God.

So if one who doesn't believe in Jesus or follow his step is to spend eternity in hell, from where did he get his eternal life, since the penalty of his sins is death?

Bros, you are preaching "Once saved always saved", if I believe in the finish work of Christ, but keep allowing my flesh to lead to me sin, still believing that christ has paid for those, yes he has paid for them, but he did something else, he provided the grace to live above sin. The ones who will say to him on the last, we cast demons in your name, but He will say to them, depart you workers of iniquity, are the ones who believed but continued in sin.
Christ always will say to anyone he forgives, Go and sin no more.

Since you the JWs believe that, when man dies it ends there, no after life. What do we do with the scriptures with reference to resurrection? you miss the point completely, let me ask, how did human achieve this immortality ? The human NATURE is not immortal, it is the spirit and soul which is immortal. Immortality is achieved when the body of the
believer is raised and transformed and then united with the soul.

What are the commandments that jesus gave for
the purpose of eternity that is other than; whosoever that shall call upon me shall be saved and be given a GIFT(what we don't work for) of eternal life.

Because jesus gave us no law or laws, he came to give us what self righteousness(law keeping) cannot give us, that's why it's called grace.

What Jesus said in mattew 5, was to prove the laws of moses wrong, to correct it's flaws and to tell the pharisees that though they keep the law, still there laws are filled with unrighteousness, and that they are not keeping it well.

And if you look at the correction of Jesus, it is more harsh than the law of moses. Because jesus said; anyone who shall see a woman and have lust in her without even touching the person has already committed the sin of adultery or fornication. Very harsh!

That's why they became angry at Jesus, saying that he was trying to abolish the law.

When jesus was in this world, he had a hard time with the pharisees and scribes, because they felt so self righteous, holier than thou attitude, that Jesus was trying his best to make them know that they are so sinful despite there self righteousness, law keeping, and to convict them of their unrighteousness.

Then, he said that nothing shall be removed from the law, TILL ALL BE FUFILLED.

All was fulfilled at the cross when he died and the presence of the lord departed from the holies of holies chamber of the temple.

And immediately the law became abolished!

but John 3:16 said Jesus came to offer man eternal life , something the church already says everyman have . so how can Jesus give everlasting life to already immortal beings ? remember that based on church teaching they are destined to live forever , so of what basis is Jesus claim of giving man everlasting life if man is already destined to live forever ?
