From Today's Gospel. LK 9:22-25

"...Then he said to all, “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself?” "

Have you ever felt like forgetting about all these religious things and indulging yourself for a while? I have found myself in such occasions at different times in my life. Yet after a while of indulging myself in a care free manner, I get bored by same things. I desire more sophistication from what I earlier thought was the pinnacle of pleasure. It is always an endless circus! “You have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless, until they can find rest in you.” cried St. Augustine. Are you in such a situation now? Have you suspended keeping some commandments for the time being? Note that death could come this period, and what will it then profit you.... I've seen Christians suspend "thou shall not steal" because they found themselves in control of public funds, yet people have died in public offices, what would it then profit you.... I have seen Christians suspend "thou shall not commit adultery" because they are courting, yet people have died before their wedding days, and what would it then profit you.... I have seen Christians suspend "thou shall not bear false witnesses" because of politics, yet winners have died before getting into the office won, what would it then profit you....Here is another opportunity, it's a period of retreat for you and for me. Let's do this together, let me walk with you, let's draw closer to God this lent. May His grace be abundant in this period.

Good morning beloved brethren, a splendid day ahead to all.

From today's first reading. IS 58:1-9A

"Tell my people their wickedness, and the house of Jacob their sins. They seek me day after day, and desire to know my ways, Like a nation that has done what is just and not abandoned the law of their God; They ask me to declare what is due them, pleased to gain access to God.
“Why do we fast, and you do not see it? afflict ourselves, and you take no note of it?”

Lo, on your fast day you carry out your own pursuits, and drive all your laborers. Yes, your fast ends in quarreling and fighting, striking with wicked claw. Would that today you might fast so as to make your voice heard on high! Is this the manner of fasting I wish, of keeping a day of penance: That a man bow his head like a reed and lie in sackcloth and ashes? Do you call this a fast, a day acceptable to the LORD? This, rather, is the fasting that I wish: releasing those bound unjustly, untying the thongs of the yoke; Setting free the oppressed, breaking every yoke; Sharing your bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless; Clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own. Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your wound shall quickly be healed; Your vindication shall go before you, and the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer, you shall cry for help, and he will say: Here I am!
"

Specific instructions! The Lord speaks His mind..."This, rather, is the fast that I wish" he said. For this reason I have nothing more to say, but to upload Pope francis' list. Today let me walk with you in prayers Francistony. As we go through this lenten season, may your eyes be open to the tiny drops of blessings around you. If you persevere in doing His will, you shall call, and the LORD will answer. May the glory of the LORD be your rear guard.

Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to you.

From today's first reading. IS 58:9B-14

Thus says the LORD:
If you remove from your midst oppression, Thus says the LORD: If you remove from your midst oppression, false accusation and malicious speech; If you bestow your bread on the hungry and satisfy the afflicted; Then light shall rise for you in the darkness, and the gloom shall become for you like midday; Then the LORD will guide you always and give you plenty even on the parched land. He will renew your strength,
and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails. The ancient ruins shall be rebuilt for your sake, and the foundations from ages past you shall raise up; “Repairer of the breach,” they shall call you, “Restorer of ruined homesteads.”

The tongue! Small, enclosed, but surely mighty. “Whosoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles” (Proverbs 21:23). What time is it now, and how many words have we used today that are uncharitable. How many words have we spoken just today in anger. How many lies have we told just this morning. Yet above in scriptures, lay a load of blessings for one who could mortify his/her tongue. Do you know that unbridled tongue makes your claim towards a christian life null and void? (James 1:26). Yes, because the tongue is fiery and strong enough defile the whole body (James 3:6). Indeed so powerful is the tongue that whoever is able to control it is called "Perfect" and is able to control his whole body (James 3:2). Well then, beloved brethren, lets focus on this tongue for a while, let's learn that word "God bless you" and use it very often. So often parents are quick to use words like dunce, stupid, useless etc on their kids, what about changing for a while; to using more often something like "Child of God, Jesus son, Princess, Mary's daughter etc. let's start by avoiding criticism for one day, criticism of persons, of tribes, of government, etc. Lets flee from slander, You may warn others to not follow certain examples, but leave all character judgment to God alone, that's the mistake of the Pharisees and Scribes, when they complained in today's Gospel saying “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” (LK. 5:27-32). Jesus never mentioned who will betray him by name; though he knew very well his name, let's learn from Jesus. "Lord, help me keep my mouth shut, until i know what am talking about" said a man. Today let me walk with you in prayers auntie Debbie, may your perseverance in the heavenly race be fruitful in you, may the Lord renew your strength; that you may be like the watered garden, with virtues like flowers blossoming and spreading sweet scent to all around you.

Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all.
