This is a natural development for a city like Lagos. A mega city with dense population and highly skilled middle class will not be a manufacturer for long. as the manufacturers shift base to Ogun State etc due to incresing congestion and costs in Lagos, the services sector is growing in Lagos. As Lagos is entering it's sort of "post-industrial" era, some other centres in Nigeria will begin to bud in theirs. Lagos will remain the commercial nerve centre of the nation for a long time even as other industrial and economic hubs begin to bud in other places. This is a good thing for national development. All of Nigeria's regions don't all need to be industrial as industry isn't the only source of global wealth. The way to prosperity for Nigeria is to develop various centers for industrial, commercial, agricultural, IT, and mineral development. 5 Likes |

SUBWAY101:no no no. A man like me cannot be bitter. I set the record straight doesn't mean am bitter. Those insulters insulting me, I still replied them properly cos they re angry. Bro, nothing on earth wiill make me jealous and envy about your region. I am very well please about our region than any other region in nigeria. My people trooping down to southwest is to milk and honey your place then come back home and do the right thing. East is never empty right from time and cannot be empty till date. There is no place the igbo occupied in nigeria that the population is bigger than their homes. Go figure out bro. We re multiplying and giving birth to populate the whole world. However looking at igbos of today, he doesn't look like we fought war some decade ago. God is alive if you just believe and serve him without betrayals. 2 Likes |

IGBOPRINCE: I never told you Sagamu has turned to this totally industrial town and that's not even what the topic is suggesting. What we're saying is, Ogun is coming up. This topic confirms that. You said investors were only interested in a few places and all I did was disagree with you by pointing out another place that I know. I'm sure there are many other places that I don't know that these investors are going to. What proof do you have they're regretting it, this topic says otherwise, the state IGR states otherwise so what's yours based on? Now if a company has a factory in a location, it doesn't mean they serve only that area so I don't understand where the low patronage is coming from. You could have a factory in Sokoto and your main market is in Delta. It could just be they were able to get the space needed in Sokoto, they are able to access raw materials easier there, the government of the state gave them tax invective and provided the amenities needed. What States need to do is keep coming up with ways to make their States more competitive which is what Amosun is doing 4 Likes |

SUBWAY101:re you lacking comprehension problems sir? I never said your places re eroded or lacking milk and honey at initial. There is no places in the world you can't see milk and honey there, we have milk and honey in the eastern enclave and we re still milking it till date cos we dominated it and now We re extending our milk and honey in the west and north. So I am not denigrating the place bro but I am only setting the record straight. Hence my opposing comments. I love yoruba people sincerely, I love them with all my heart. I can't hate them. Forget wetin dey happen here bro. Forget what we re saying. We re still one . Just that we re making nairaland to be hot and warm and that s why your people always mentioned our names when there re no other tribes dominating nairaland . So stop taking it personally, I have read your previous comment too and I have know how you guys reacts. So freestyle yourself aburo. |

Onitsha Market Onitsha Market is one of the largest markets in West Africa.[1] It is governed by one of the most revered traders associations in Nigeria, the Onitsha Market Traders Association (OMATA). Most of the major import merchants from Eastern Nigeria have their head offices within the market. The average traders in the area are known to bring in at least six consignments of 40 tonnes (40-feet containers) of goods annually. Some of the major importers do more than 20 consignments of 40 tonnes of goods per year. These include jewelry, clothing, household, industrial and office equipment. It is bounded by the River Niger to the West and Fegge through Osumaru Road from the East. The market is secured by the Onitsha Main Market Vigilante Services working under the auspices of the Nigeria Police Force. The market can rightfully be described as the commercial power house of West Africa. It is massively patronized by merchants in the ECOWAS sub-region including Accra, Abidjan, Douala, Niamey and Cotonou to mention a few. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onitsha_Market 1 Like |

Why be say anytime they mention developments and achievement in the SW and its environs, the issue of SE will always come up. A thread was opened to mention notable people in Ogun and someone brought anambra people into it. Well concerning location of industries, these thread has data on Ogun industries compared to the rest of nigeria, not only lagos. 1 Like |

Chest beating online only shows you all have low self esteem, so you know people and where they live that you conclude they don't travel. It should be morning in Naija and people will be busy at work while you waiting for Yoruba peeps to come do dic.k measuring with you, go find a job and stop disgracing yourself everywhere. 4 Likes 1 Share |
