I went for a recruitment test and an interview in one of this recruitment firms. i did well in the two exercise and I think I stand a good chance of being selected for the job. However, its been almost two weeks and I have not heard from them. I called two other persons who went for the same interview with me and they said they are yet to hear from them like they told us. Could it be that something is wrong? or its normal for recruiting firms to stay for this long before sending the result or response to the people they interviewed?

the truth is most Nigeria recruiters are the most silly and unprofessional people on earth,I mail hr abroad with swift they will reply u,but Nigeria recruiters they won't even acknowledge to talk of replying you.

There same bunch of clueless people will spew gibberish saying Nigeria graduate are not not employable

Depends on the selection process

Op has never waited for a year and he's complaining...

Yea...it's a normal thing.Some positions like graduate positions are not critical positions and at such can be delayed for days on end without a direct negative impact on business.Secondly profit and growth estimations are sometimes over estimated and at such some positions advertised for might become redundant as a result of low growth projections.Sometimes management have the final say,vacancies generated departmentally and approved by HR for new intake might be subject to another round of scrutiny by finance n top management cadre to check company budget is not exceeded.
There are probably a thousand other reasons why recruitment exercises get delayed or abandoned but in all pray for God's favor ,don't "wait" for any feedback,get on with other aspects of your life and if the Job is yours it will be yours.

Just 2 weeks and you are complaining? A friend was called after 1 year 6 months in a multi national.

Schlumberger called one of my friends in 2009 after waiting for like 2 years.

As for me i always see that their useless recruitment as means of advertising their firm,because before the interview will take place most of the have already know who to fix in that very position.so bro relax this is Nigeria for you.

Union bank said they would get back to me shortly in 2014. Na shortly i still they, it 2016 now. AxaMansard since Feb 2015 no feedback. I just they observe.
