Are companies allowed to change closure date for register without any formal notification in letter accessible to investors about a change in their register closing date.

Vitafoam for instance posted that their register will be closed last Friday only for me to check and see that they have a new date 15-19 February. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

If closure of register is 15-19, February, then qualification date was Friday last week.

10 Reasons why I bought Access bank shares last week.

Reason No. 1: As at Q3 2015, Access bank PAT was N48b which already exceeds the entire 2014 PAT of N43b. That means the whole of Q4 (Usually the most active quarter) is pure increase! That is what I call a stellar performance.

@gbolah4real, I promised to mention it out loud next time I buy a good stock like this. Promise fulfilled.

The audited full year results for most banks often shows that the quarterly results can not be extrapolated to full year results. The discrepancy is sometimes significant after the result is audited.
Also consider that Access bank raised capital in the course of the year, in the process adding 6B shares to its outstanding issued shares. The "stellar" performance isn't completely organic. Without the N41.8 that was raised, what would have been the percentage increase YOY? Zenith achieved same increase in percentage terms without increasing share capital. I stand to be corrected ,please.
That said, Access bank is a BUY for me also. In fact, the top 5 banks are a BUY for me. They are better poised to withstand any systemic shock and recover more quickly. Entry prices should be based on investment objectives aligned with current market volatility. My opinion.

The results could be bad. Zenith lost ~5% due to feelers about the upcoming result. My advice is to careful. The full effect of the oil price crash is not yet being felt in by the economy and the banks. Oil price started high last year and ended low. 2016 is different. It started low and will likely end low.
Share prices will adjust further downwards to reflect this.

But Nestle Q3-2015 was impressive and yet the price has been falling since last week. What could be the problem with the stock?

http://www.punchng.com/naira-to-weaken-further-as-dollar-demand-soars/
The naira will weaken further at the parallel market this week after shedding nine per cent of its value last week, foreign exchange dealers and economic experts have said.

Last week, the local currency fell from 310 to 338 as acute shortage of the greenback lingered.

Forex dealers and experts expect the naira to fall further at the parallel market this week as demand for the greenback continues to soar.
“The situation has got to the point of hysteria now; everybody wants to hold dollars. So the demand is rising and piling up,” the Chief Executive Officer, Cowry Asset Management Limited, Mr. Johnson Chukwu, said. smiley

I've been enjoying the CHANGE smiley in Lagos since Jan though will go back to our desert next month.

I will advice your brother to better stay back and enjoy the CHANGE except if he's coming with a DIRECT EMPLOYMENT VISA.

http://abokifx.com/nigerian-naira-hits-record-low-of-345-vs-dollar-reuters/

Nigeria’s naira weakened to a record 345 to the dollar on the parallel market on Monday, increasing pressure on the government to devalue the official exchange rate to narrow the gap and spare Nigerians from huge bills for imported goods.

N1000 per USD is now the new benchmark smiley
