nasiayam: You are a hypocrite. Your sister said the OP should not refer to Christians as brothers. You didn't see anything wrong with that. That is not hate preaching to you. Smh !!! I learnt it here: Quran 48:29] Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are HARD against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves. Islam is full of hate messages, but you didn't see them Many verses of the quran says allaah hates unbelievers. |

meixili:Well, the problem with our bible is that atheists saw an opportunity to make money off it by publishing and distributing it. While we thank them for the effort, they need to keep their opinions off its contents. The greatest problem these people have had with the bible is its description and explanation of spiritual concepts. That is where the dilution comes in. It's why I can't stand the good news bible. Kingjames is slowly heading there. Then there are people who sit down with the bible, come up with their own understanding and replace the poetic parables with their delusions. While atheists have done these and continue to mutilate our bible for their suspicious reasons, there still remains a message. The spiritual may miss in the extrapolations but the idea remains. |

AlMuflihah:There!!!!!!!!!. Any stupid Christian who takes a Muslim as a friend, is doing that to his or her own peril. This people are animals. Muafrika2:Brother, I do not agree with you. The word of God can't lose it spirituality. You know why? The word of God is the spirit of God. It is life. Satan will do his best to mutilate it. The message can never die or be taken away. Satan started with the Roman Emperors, then translated to the Roman Popes, Satan tried to hide the truth of the gospel by first hiding it in a language that is now dead. He tried to keep it locked up so that he can control it's message. The Catholic Church's popes wanted to be the only ones reading for the people what they wanted the people to know. Just like Islam. But he failed. When that failed, they resulted to burning anyone who tried to interpret it into other languages for others to have an opportunity to also see the truth for themselves. He also failed. Today he is using Islam against muslims. He now came up with the idea of the Bible being corrupt, so that the Muslims won't have any need to come to it. He will still fail. Now the Atheists are his main tool against the Word of God. Satan is still failing. He can't go beyond the limit he is placed. If the gospel is hid, it's hid to them who a perishing. No man can destroy the spirit of the Word of God. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but not one dot from the word shall remain u fulfilled. Let all men be Liars and God be true, that all power belongs to God. Once has he spoken, twice have i heard. 2 Likes |

analice107: First, don't worry about the credibility of the bible. Those who belong to Christ will find Him even without the bible. It's true that the bible has many levels through which the message is communicated. I am always learning something completely new every time I read a Passage that I have read before. The spirit of God cannot be erased from His word. But there is one aspect of the bible that is under attack. There is a push to make the bible "culturally relevant." This is the reason why whole verses are of late being altogether left out by publishers because to them, they don't make sense. Then there is the imposition of human understanding. Compare the following translations of the same verse; The Complete Jewish Bible Chapter Parallel John 1:3 (CJB) All things came to be through him, and without him nothing made had being. Holman Christian Standard Bible Chapter Parallel John 1:3 (CSB) All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created. Good News Translation Chapter Parallel John 1:3 (GNT) Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him. My understanding of the first translation is different from the rest. This is what I mean by the spiritual angle. The things were made but their being, their life, came from Christ. 2 Likes 1 Share |

AlMuflihah:Firstly, I know the fact that you can never be ashamed of coming up with some nonsensical reasons to justify, calling a book which almost all were eaten up by Goat, an unaltered book. Secondly, your reply to your islamic brother, is an eye opener to show how really wicked you muslims are, that's why no sensible person has stood up to FIERCELY condemn the trending islamic terror groups that are causing problem all over the world. I got extreme-shocked when I look at your profile discovering that you are a female. It kept me wondering, if a female can say this, then what if you are a male, for sure, you will form your own terror group because your type cannot just kill with bombs, but kill infidels by slaying their throat like chicken. Well, you may think you have life in the wicked islamic world, but I tell you by love, there is only death there. But only Jesus, can give you life full of peace. |

They saw that the stone was Rolled back (Mark 16:4) They found the stone rolled away from the tomb (Luke 24:2) They saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb (John 20:1) As the women approached, an angel descended from heaven, rolled away the stone, and conversed with the women. Matthew made the women witness the spectacular rolling away of the stone (Matthew 28:1-6) 86. Did anyone tell the women what happened to Jesus body? Yes. A young man in a white robe (Mark 16:5). Two men ... in dazzling apparel later described as angels (Luke 24:4 and 24:23). An angel - the one who rolled back the stone (Matthew 16:2). In each case the women were told that Jesus had risen from the dead (Matthew 28:7; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:5 footnote) No. Mary met no one and returned saying, They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him (John 20:2) 87. When did Mary Magdelene first meet the resurrected Jesus? And how did she react? Mary and the other women met Jesus on their way back from their first and only visit to the tomb. They took hold of his feet and worshipped him (Matthew 28:9) On her second visit to the tomb Mary met Jesus just outside the tomb. When she saw Jesus she did not recognize him. She mistook him for the gardener. She still thinks that Jesus body is laid to rest somewhere and she demands to know where. But when Jesus said her name she at once recognized him and called him Teacher. Jesus said to her, Do not hold me... (John 20:11 to 17) 88. What was Jesus instruction for his disciples? Tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me (Matthew 2 8: 10) Go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God (John 20:17) 89. When did the disciples return to Galilee? Immediately, because when they saw Jesus in Galilee some doubted (Matthew 28:17). This period of uncertainty should not persist After at least 40 days. That evening the disciples were still in Jerusalem (Luke 24:3 3). Jesus appeared to them there and told them, stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high (Luke 24:49). He was appearing to them during forty days (Acts 1:3), and charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise ... (Acts 1:4) 90. To whom did the Midianites sell Joseph? To the Ishmaelites (Genesis 37:28) To Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh (Genesis 37:36) 91. Who brought Joseph to Egypt? The Ishmaelites bought Joseph and then took Joseph to Egypt (Genesis 37:28) The Midianites had sold him in Egypt (Genesis 37:36) Joseph said to his brothers I am your brother, Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt (Genesis 45:4) 92. Does God change his mind? Yes. The word of the Lord came to Samuel: I repent that I have made Saul King... (I Samuel 15:10 to 11) No. God will not lie or repent; for he is not a man, that he should repent (I Samuel 15:29) Yes. And the Lord repented that he had made Saul King over Israel (I Samuel 15:35). Notice that the above three quotes are all from the same chapter of the same book! In addition, the Bible shows that God repented on several other occasions: i. The Lord was sorry that he made man (Genesis 6:6) I am sorry that I have made them (Genesis 6:7) ii. And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do to his people (Exodus 32:14). iii. (Lots of other such references). 93. The Bible says that for each miracle Moses and Aaron demonstrated the magicians did the same by their secret arts. Then comes the following feat: Moses and Aaron converted all the available water into blood (Exodus 7:20-21) The magicians did the same (Exodus 7:22). This is impossible, since there would have been no water left to convert into blood. 94. Who killed Goliath? David (I Samuel 17:23, 50) Elhanan (2 Samuel 21:19) 95. Who killed Saul? Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.... Thus Saul died... (I Samuel 31:4-6) An Amalekite slew him (2 Samuel 1:1- 16) 96. Does every man sin? Yes. There is no man who does not sin (I Kings 8:46; see also 2 Chronicles 6:36; Proverbs 20:9; Ecclesiastes 7:20; and I John 1:810) No. True Christians cannot possibly sin, because they are the children of God. Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God.. (I John 5:1). We should be called children of God; and so we are (I John 3: 1). He who loves is born of God (I John 4:7). No one born of God commits sin; for Gods nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God (I John 3:9). But, then again, Yes! If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (I John 1: 97. Who will bear whose burden? Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2) Each man will have to bear his own load (Galatians 6:5) 98. How many disciples did Jesus appear to after his resurrection? Twelve (I Corinthians 15:5) Eleven (Matthew 27:3-5 and Acts 1:9-26, see also Matthew 28:16; Mark 16:14 footnote; Luke 24:9; Luke 24:3 3) 99. Where was Jesus three days after his baptism? After his baptism, the spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days ... (Mark 1:12-13) Next day after the baptism, Jesus selected two disciples. Second day: Jesus went to Galilee - two more disciples. Third day: Jesus was at a wedding feast in Cana in Galilee (see John 1:35; 1:43; 2:1-11) 100. Was baby Jesus life threatened in Jerusalem? Yes, so Joseph fled with him to Egypt and stayed there until Herod died (Matthew 2:13 23) No. The family fled nowhere. They calmly presented the child at the Jerusalem temple according to the Jewish customs and returned to Galilee (Luke 2:21-40) 101. When Jesus walked on water how did the disciples respond? They worshipped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God (Matthew 14:33) They were utterly astounded, for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened (Mark 6:51-52) Back to Contradictions and History of Corruption in the Bible. The oldest copies of the Gospel of Mark, the Sinaitic and Vatican, end at Mark 16:8. A note in the New International Version of the Bible states: "The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20." Verses 9 to 20 appear to have been added later by an unknown Christian forger. The addition was quoted in the writings of Irenaeus and Hippolytus in the second or third century. |

The insertion and continued translation of such an obvious and dangerous forgery in the Bible should come as no surprise. In order to boast their flimsy claims that God is a "Trinity," many Christians continue to quote another proven forgery, 1 John 5:7, which purports to say: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." The foregoing verse is such an obvious forgery that: [T]his verse is now universally recognized as being a later "insertion" of the Church and all recent versions of the Bible, such as the Revised Standard Version the New Revised Standard Version, the New American Standard Bible, the New English Bible, the Phillips Modern English Bible ...etc. have all unceremoniously expunged this verse from their pages. Why is this? The scripture translator Benjamin Wilson gives the following explanation for this action in his "Emphatic Diaglott." Mr. Wilson says: "This text concerning the heavenly witness is not contained in any Greek manuscript which was written earlier than the fifteenth century. It is not cited by any of the ecclesiastical writers; not by any of early Latin fathers even when the subjects upon which they treated would naturally have lead them to appeal to it's authority. It is therefore evidently spurious." Others, such as the late Dr. Herbert W. Armstrong argued that this verse was added to the Latin Vulgate edition of the Bible during the heat of the controversy between Rome, Arius, and God's people. Whatever the reason, this verse is now universally recognized as an insertion and discarded. . . . |

nasiayam:Irenaeus lived around 100AD, and quoted directly from the Gospel of Mark 16 verse 20 what then? Were there any manuscripts older than the one Irenaeus quoted from? NO! |

Scholar8200:the fourth-century church fathers Eusebius and Jerome noted that almost all Greek manuscripts available to them lacked vv. 9–20, although they doubtless knew those other endings existed. In the second century, Justin Martyr and Tatian knew about other endings. Irenaeus, also, in A.D. 150 to 200, must have known about this long ending because he quotes verse 19 from it. So, the early church fathers knew of the added verses, but even by the fourth century, Eusebius said the Greek manuscripts did not include these endings in the originals. The internal evidence from this passage also casts doubt on Mark as the author. For one thing, the transition between verses 8 and 9 is abrupt and awkward. The Greek word translated “now” that begins v. 9 should link it to what follows, as the use of the word “now” does in the other synoptic Gospels. However, what follows doesn’t continue the story of the women referred to in v. 8, describing instead Jesus’ appearing to Mary Magdalene. There’s no transition there, but rather an abrupt and bizarre change, lacking the continuity typical of Mark’s narrative. The author should be continuing the story of the women based on the word “now,” not jumping to the appearance to Mary Magdalene. Further, for Mark to introduce Mary Magdalene here as though for the very first time (v. 9) is odd because she had already been introduced in Mark’s narrative (Mark 15:40, 47, 16:1), another evidence that this section was not written by Mark. Furthermore, the vocabulary is not consistent with Mark’s Gospel. These last verses don’t read like Mark’s. There are eighteen words here that are never used anywhere by Mark, and the structure is very different from the familiar structure of his writing. The title “Lord Jesus,” used in verse 19, is never used anywhere else by Mark. Also, the reference to signs in vv. 17-18 doesn’t appear in any of the four Gospels. In no account, post-resurrection of Jesus, is there any discussion of signs like picking up serpents, speaking with tongues, casting out demons, drinking poison, or laying hands on the sick. So, both internally and externally, this is foreign to Mark. |

nasiayam:On the grounds of the highlighted, I hereby pronounce this case closed! You should be fighting those who removed it then not those faithful to the original quoted by Irenaeus etc Besides, this is another testimony to the fact that GOD preserved His Word! |

The Wycliffe Bible Commentary states this about Mark 16:9-20: ‘Textual note,’ Mark ‘16:9-20. In the two most trustworthy manuscripts of the Greek NT (the Vaticanus and Siniaticus) the Gospel ends with 16:8 , as it does also in several early versions |

nasiayam:Altered? Even the one you brought has been shown to be there and thank God the KJV shows it too. Your question should be directed to those who came afterward with doctored manuscripts! Besides, the 'early' (but doctored mss) also left out large parts of the Original! The emphasis on this is perhaps because it agrees with the muslims perspective but remember this early, altered mss was the work of gnostics who also removed other parts of the Original (which I believe Irenaeus quoted from) |
