Acidosis:
You've seen a better man already, right?

Please let him be, don't crash his marriage. Whether the girl is a village girl from Akwa Ibom or not, the truth is that she had something you didn't have (its not your fault). The lady is ready to move to Mowe, while you're not ready for such.

Only a lady who has seen another man ALREADY will do all you did. Mind you, he has been dating that lady for years. No man, I repeat no man will meet a new girl and get married to her within a space of 2 months. It will never happen in Nigeria.

Your storyline is sweet, but it takes a culpable, fickle, gullible and predisposed mind to believe your story hook line and sinker. Something is missing in your post and I know it.
Dude i thought as much, the bae just abrogated one of the greatest laws of marriage given by God that whatsoever HE has joined together, let nobody put asunder...karma awaits hergrin

This is the reason why some girls won't get husband's for themselves till they re 45.

move with him where he is moving to u said no, u started giving attitude.

You shouted on him to go marry a lady who could move with him. probably because you where pissed but you forgot to say sorry if u really was still interested in him.

He moves out to get someone else who is ready to move with him and be at peace with it.

He even came introducing her to u, and you gave your go ahead to it.

He is getting married now ur going to disturb. to what end?? let's wait and see when u get married, as u wanna create pains in someone else's marriage.
That is what I'm telling her o. She told the guy to marry someone else now she had the gods to make the guy cry. She think she is better than the girl just because she can't speak English fluently, she is so arrogant and full of her self. If she is not humble, in the next ten years she will still be single and by that time she will be looking for who to marry her.

my sister look I don't know you from anywhere not until you came here with this story of your love life. so just accept my advice which ever way you like to see it good or bad............ back to the topic........one of the things I deduced from what you wrote is how proud and arrogant of a person you could be........thinking you're better than the lady cuz she couldn't speak English fluently.....and the one that annoyed me most was when the brother told you to move to Mowe with him you refused.......Damn! You are too proud for any man to marry.

what do you men actually want was she expected to leave her job and relocate all the way to mowe... if she had done that now you guys will still flood here and call her a low life, a gold digger, a woman with no values for leaving her life behind to follow a man, its not called pride my brother, its integrity. If the guy cared he would have allowed them to get to a point of compromise, 4 years no be beans... and pleeeaaaasseee about her feeling like she's better than the guy's wife, who wouldn't? its no hidden fact that we all feel really cool if our ex gets someone below us as the new bae, even you should be guilty of that too, so free the babe abeg

If he had a brain, he would have realized that she didn't mean it. He would have called her back to discuss it with her, he drove her to spit out those words. He was already planning on marrying the lady, the idiot was just looking for an excuse.

I don't blame you sha. Tell your younger sister to cry her heart out when an unserious ex introduces his fiancee to herundecided

pls don't think that, no real man will be threatened by his girls or fiance's success or whatnot if she is a wonderful lady. Show his macho manliness or his love? He saw something better in the akwa ibom girl or a lot of better things, no man throws away a diamond unless he later discovers that the supposed diamond is nothing but a piece of broken glass.
Any lady that is not ready to be under a man's care should avoid marriage and stay single and likely sad. Men can handle nice career ladies but an arrogant lady is to be avoided.

hahahahahahaha. You make it sound like all men possess good judgement and can never make mistakes and it is only women who have fish brain and cannot make proper decisions. A lot of the men who lived around my neighbourhood cheat on their wives. Wives who hustled with them when they were broke; so that excuse is out of the way. Wives who cook for them everyday; that excuse is out the way. Wives who gave up their jobs to be housewives; that excuse is also out of the way. Finally wives who even suffer domestic abuse; yet the men beat them and still cheat. So pls spare me that crap of how men never give up diamonds bla bla bla. They are human and make mistakes. A loooooot of mistakes. when you accept that then it is easy for you analyse situations without bias.

The worst thing that can happen to you as a man is to marry a woman who doesn't respect your decisions(Over tear eye). I guess the dude realised that, so he opted for the humble type.

you did that just to mock at him and make him feel bad. It's OK just know that what wasn't meant for you, is not for you no matter how u force it

Yeah, u captured my thoughts...my advice to the op and all who haven't been able to become neutral...note; the guy is fulfilling part of his destiny, whether good or bad...we all are meant to be a part of someone's life at some point in life...it doesn't mean, we must hang onto the end thereof. Beauty, flashy-looks, and sometimes long-dating may not often be the reason for marriage' cum compatibility...

@Op if u felt happy with ya actions, I hope u heal well and move on, as you do have a bright future ahead of you. Your Ex remains Ex and you'll surely get your God-sent man.

Shalom!!!

You're right, but I maintain, anybody that goes to such great lengths to prove she's over somebody that jilted her, is obviously in denial. Whatever her reason for going to that party, to show the guy what he's missing or to rattle him, she's clearly bitter that he left her.
I understand the fact that moving may have been detrimental to her business, but calling his bluff to go and meet another lady, just because he hurt her ego by insinuating he could get someone else was reckless. She has no idea what made him so adamant. Maybe his parents/family members/peers were unaware of the consequences of her moving and were mocking his manhood for his inability to 'be a man.' Bet that possibility wasn't taken into consideration. You know as Africans, our parents have great influence over our actions (whether we like it or not) she says they could afford a house in Lagos, but what if the guy doubted his ability to keep up with subsequent rents and didn't want to risk having to depend on her to put a roof over his head? She sounds like the type that would still turn around to open a thread about how her useless boyfriend was depending on her for rent. The dude had a free house to stay in and he saw no sense in passing up the opportunity. It was left for her to calm him down and make him see things her way in a mature manner, instead of lashing back at him for bruising her pride cool

Biko if he did what he did because of his family, I can only say kudos to the woman. God forbid I end up with a man that does things because of his family.

So it wasn't the man's job to state his reasons clearly and reasonablyundecided

I LIKE YOU OP, PEOPLE ATTACKING YOU ARE HIGHLY LIKELY TO BE PEOPLE WITH LOW SELF ESTEEM AND IGNORANT. IT'S NOT A MOST A WOMAN GET MARRIED TO JUST ANY BODY THAT WON'T PUT HER INTO CONSIDERATION. WHY SHOULD A MARRIED MAN WANT TO MOVE TO HIS FATHERS HOUSE, IF I WHERE THE ONE I WOULD RENT IT OUT CAUSE IT'S A FAMILY HOUSE AND PEOPLE WITH COMMON SENSE KNOWS WHAT THAT MEANS.

Alright, let me humor you. So a lady tells her boyfriend that she has a free house to stay in, but the boyfriend refuses to move. Then in exasperation, she tells her boyfriend that she has other willing toasters and the guy tells her to pls pack her luggage and go and join them. Then she leaves and marries some other dude and the guy spends a lot of money to make himself look nice and goes to the wedding, dancing away and generally drawing attention to himself (at someone's wedding) then comes online to brag about how he 'brought down his ex in revenge for leaving him.' You're a smart girl, you tell me how I'd respond.

I think she should have not gone for the wedding at all. But then people will say she is pained.

so all the people living in Mowe are jobless?

Did she seek some transfer or check for available job options there or was she more concerned about her status of 'working and living on the island' being depleted?

Anyway, the man is now married to the village girl who doesn't mind living in Mowe and she still has her job so I guess everyone is contented

Like I said, having suitors is one thing, but going by our Island big girl's standards, having eligible suitors will be another for her.

Insha Allah she will get another. Do you know there is what is called resentment in marriage? If she feels that she would not be comfortable with the arrangement and 20 years down the line she will feel unfulfilled even with children and all, then it is her prerogative to wait for a situation that she likes. The village girl(I have issues with her calling her that) has no problem with that but she does. Why are we forcing square pegs into round holes. In Nigeria I see that it is more important to be an unhappy Mrs than a happy Miss.

did i mention wives up there? Or all men? REAL MEN i meant ok, try to read and understand first before letting your emotions get the best of you. Study about the human psych, like i've opined earlier we're mostly influenced positively or negatively from what we see, hear, go through from when we are babies and on. Some learn to protect their mind and most don't. I don't know what your case is but damn your environment must have affected you negatively dear, sorry for growing in such neighbourhood of such men dear. Have a nice day.

Very very true! I can relate with this. As I write, I have some female friends working for shell, addax et al. During our MSc, these ladies were so down to earth and wouldn't mind cooking for a lazy cook like me. The act didn't make them less of a woman. They benefitted from me too though, academic wise.
I'm suspecting that the op is Yoruba. Why do you think we Yoruba guys have a thing for Igbos and Akwa Ibom chicks? Majority of our own Yoruba girls are very proud and rigid, hence, we hardly reckon with them.
