I will make $1=N1. The zombies jumped up, they never cared to ask for the multiplier. Today it is clear the man meant $1=N1*10^3. or even more.

Making $1 = N1 is what the oyinbo's call building castle ine the hair and the so called zombies that believed him should have their head checked...

This what you get when you surround yourself with an incompetent economic team, that comprises the likes of kemi Adeosun...

I hope the Naira does not discover oil at the rate it's falling...SMH

Those are the ones who actually need the dollars to import raw materials and other capital goods for further production but the problem we have at hand is that too many people are demanding for the dollars to import rubbish (toothpick, foreign nails/hairs, palm oil etc) into this country thereby mounting pressure on the exchange rate because the demand for forex exceeds its supply making the price to go up. Supply cannot meet the demand for forex because of our mono product economy. We only export oil and nothing more

Don't you think the government should further apply some forms of import restrictions on the FX excluded 41 items ? Maybe increase the import duty to 69.4% to further discourage its import?

they are also positive sides to these. the major reason why this is bad for us is simply becos we are import dependent.

See my brother "my people" will find a way to bring it in and people will even pay double to buy them. It's a psychological thing and until that orientation is changed we are going nowhere. Am also part of the problem cause I also default in some areas (ie taste for foreign made goods). Take the case of imported leather seat's.... This things are produced here and with 200k and above you can get a good one but you see our people complaining about the finishing, saying the sowing its not good, its not neat and the rest of them and prefer to buy a those foreign made ones that cost as much1.5 and 2.8 million thereby exporting jobs to those countries that produce them and in turn importing Unemployment and exchange rate crises into our country. However if we patronise these locally produced ones with time they will improve on the sowing and finishing and also their market size, sales and revenue base will also increase leading to more jobs and even exporting to those other countries we were previously importing from.

There is no magic that can make a round peg fix squarely well in square hole. When the foundation is faulty there is nothing the righteous can do .Nigeria has blood sucking vampires as leader and they expect progress Until the right ppl get into power there wont be progress in that country. The problem with Nigeria is foundational and until the foundational problem is resolved the nation will keep moving in circles or backwards. The nation first needs to be restructured to have true federalism and that is something that will take donkey years to fulfil.then the political system needs to be changed,it is that system that produces the likes of buhari, tinibu ,obj and olabode George as political leaders,a faulty political system will always produce faulty crooked political leadership. Then lasly is the mind set of Nigerian ,actually this particular one will take generations to change so there is no point elaborating on it.
No wonder woke soyinka said on BBC during Abacha time that the damage the political system has done to the Nigerian psyche and society will take generations and not decades to rectify

You are right....practice makes perfect....i remember when Nigerian music and music videos were snobbed and neglected...now they are the rave of the moment......

I do not support the dullard man but trust me...i am very happy with the fx drought....we are too import dependent in this country....left with me....i wish the dullard will close the ports...ban importation of any commodity......if you don't see caprice or foreign rice...u eat ofada or abakaliki rice....if u don't see designer shirt to wear...u make do with aba made....it will be tough but will worth it in the end.

Let the dullard ban everything.. Close the borders and lets survive with the little we have.

you are right Firefire. @kahal29, forex has been restricted to treatment overseas & oversea study purposes. the major problem here is the law of demand & supply of which FG & CBN knows the right to do but refuse just to satisfy their self interest
