Lawyers are known to be ruthless or there wouldn't be food on their table.
They take sides with the ones who can afford their bills and will have no regret if they send an innocent man to the gallows.
They are humans afterall... I believe the problem lies with the judges who knows what's right but ends up mixing the verdict with partiality for the sake of wealth even if the innocent will lose his/her life.
I once witnessed a rapist of a young lady who walked free all because her family couldn't afford a good lawyer
