God bless u
mercylicious:

funbact a is a steroid and bleaching is one of the side effects if used for a long time.

A lot of mothers ignorantly mix it with ori and use on their babies skin. It makes the babies skin so smooth but most mothers dont know it bleaches. Long term effect of use of funbact a or any steriod is bad.

I condemn the bleaching of children. Do you know some mothers go as far as putting bleach in the bathing water of their children to make them fair? They do anything to make their child fair. This is what i call phobia for dark skin. Some of those women were born dark, but bleached their skin along the line and became fair, married fair men, so they dont want anything to give them away that they were originally dark.

Allow a child to grow up as a child. When she grows up, let the decision to tone or not to tone her skin be solely hers.

I don't think its ok to mix funbact A with ori cos funbact A is meant for treatment of a skin disorder and not to used as cream especially for babies. The best thing u can mix with shea butter is coconut oil. Anyway to get your original shea butter u can email me on chareezpee@gmail.com or call me on 08066416075.

I saw this woman with her two teenage kids (boy and girl ) they are all bleached their skins including the woman. I was so ashamed seeing them like that in white men country, but the silly woman seemed not to be bothered. Nigeria govt should make this practice illegal.

The problem with bleaching cream is a two-way thing. We need to first stop with the mentality that light skin is prettier. We need to stop placing light-skinned people on pedestals.

some women lack proper home training that deals with child care. But then, they saw their mothers bleach(in old age), they bleached, why shouldn't the baby bleach too?

Family of bleaches grin. I'll never forget the day my mum slapped a church member for rubbing Funbact A on her 6 month old daughter. The saddest part was this; that was the 'baby cream' she was using regularly on the child and she didn't know it was wrong.

It's very pathetic that we ourselves are ashamed of our skin color instead of being proud it. Please stop killing yourself with creams soaps and even injection just to become white. If you are black appreciate it be proud of it and never inferior because you are superior.

I define the self as the part of humans that can not be changed or altered. The self is what makes us who we are. The skin is merely an outer shell. If men can study to alter their natural state of ignorance, if we can weightlift to build muscle mass. What is so damning about skin bleaching? It's just slightly altering the outer shell. It's low self esteem for Africans to keep on rehashing the same talking points. Changing one's skin doesn't make them a different person, and if Africans weren't so disconnected from their sense of self, they would realize that.

Clearly your definition of self is subjective like you have admitted. I think you should look at the normative definition of self-esteem. But for your subjective definition of self-esteem, I would have sounded you out on your rather contradictory contribution to this discuss. We can talk about this when you have reviewed and updated your opinion on self-esteem. But you do sound like you feel bad about this subject...like there is something you have done to your body that you cant reverse. You are taking everything personal.

Your mom couldn't just talk to her about the negative side effects of using that cream?

Especially as she didn't know it was wrong.

First, Caro White has a terrible smell that can take ones breath away (I mean choke), and it contains hydroquinin(not sure if that's the correct spelling), a substance that causes cancer and supposedly banned by NAFDAC!

Too personal? You can't be serious. You're projecting kiddo. Your IQ is obviously too low to understand my post. I don't bleach; I just don't believe in policing other adults. Ciao.

Oh shut up. While I find bleaching a minor's skin reprehensible, I'm tired of all these sanctimonious sermons on bleaching. Blacks don't bleach to look Caucasian; Caucasians don't tan to look black. These bleaching sermons come from low self esteem. We don't see Caucasians policing their race. Let people do what they want.

Black women bleach because black men worship light or white skin.

Funbact-A is not a bleaching cream.

If its not indicated on the leaflet which am not sure of, then it can be used. cos I believe you where coming from the angle that it does bleach and not suitability due to age.

But kudos to been sure a caring mother.

On point

I wonder which black bleaches because they want to be 'white' or because of 'inferiority' complex.

Acidosis:
The people who sell these lotions and cream do not call it bleaching cream. We Nigerians are fond of calling every form of skin reaction "bleaching."

Someone mentioned funbact-A, I don't know whether there are two kinds of funbact-A, but the one I know is anti-eczema, and other skin stuffs.

That's how some Nigerians call La casera 'bleaching drink' and that it can burn one's intestine.

I've also heard people saying Coke and 'TEEM' soft drinks are meant for fat people who want to get slim.

Someone even said Coke is a stain removal thus it can burn the stomach.

Illiteracy/poor regulation is killing this country. People just throw all forms of irrational ideology at the people. Ask them whether they have scientifically tested any of these hypotheses. The answer is NO, why? A typical Nigerian will invest more on rumour than research.

If Funbact-A, an anti eczema cream, meant to clear reactions, end up bleaching your skin, why don't you report to NAFDAC?

Does it mean we know more than over 500 Pharmacists and other health professionals in NAFDAC?

I wonder
