Pls mamas, my baby's chest is congested. Like mucour is stucked in there, but the nose is dry. I've been using hot water with Silverbird (Eucalyptus oil) on his nose and chest, but it seems not resolving. Pls how do I handle this?

It's going to clear with time dear ( can't remember the medical term for it). My baby had the same issue, we are 6 months now and it has cleared completely. Pele, I know how frustrating it can be.
It might also be due to low humidity. See if you can get a humidifier in the room plus if you use any of those small heaters in your room you might want to turn it off.
When did you notice the congestion?

Aply mentholatum on d chest and lungs. Massage gently after each bath. D mucous wil disapear in no due time. Such cases are common with babies, also avoid keepin him close to fan. GOD BLESS UR LO.

Sorry for d late response. I haven't really started giving my girl adult food. She eats more of cereal, then takes milk at nite. For instance, I have a schedule, most times she sleeps b4 7pm. I feed her milk before she sleeps. Then at abt 10 or 11 I give her cereal. Then anytime she wakes like 3am I give her milk. Most times I have a torch stand by, dnt use d bulb. Cos it will b too bright. Dere might b instances, when she may not want to go back to sleep, I dnt give room for her to play. I lay her down and b4 30mins she sleeps back. Sorry for d Long post. Hope u see something in between ,that can help. Dnt mind my typing errors

Tnks Alot, Bt In My Case She dosent Lyk Milk In Bottle Oh

Good morning mama's in the house

Please, I've got a question. Our little Bobo was weaned last two weeks. Prior to that, he doesn't take any other thing apart from breastmilk and pap.... Now it's only pap for him. He doesn't take tea, any kind of food or biscuit like every other baby..... Except Fanta, or pineapple flavoured caprisone..

Please, experienced mothers, what do you suggest we do

Put up a picture someone might have experience with it or else take them to a clinic or nearby pharmacy. A regular otc antibiotic cream might be all you need

Show it to a nearby pharmacist they may be able to help you with an antibiotic cream. Sudo cream as far as I know is a diaper rash/nappy change cream I doubt if it'll help clear this...

With fussy eaters you just have to keep trying.

First things first toss out all the feeding bottles immediately so that even you don't succumb to giving her anymore.

Depending on your schedule start timing her meals.could be every three to four hours.

Give meals she can eat herself e.g chips- yam, potato or bread and butter maybe fried eggs too.

With the other meals feed her and clap when she takes a spoon. Try and use a table and chair for her so she knows its serious business. After thirty minutes pack it up without a fuss. And don't offer any snacks between meals. No matter what.

When you are eating set her up with a plate on a tray maybe she will learn concept of eating properly.

Good luck.

DEllaluv this may help you! Cut out the caprisonne and Fanta immediately. Keep offering a variety of meals. Many children like amala/semo and ewedu with fish. Try potatoes, bread and cheese/butter, boiled plantain.just regular stuff that the rest of the household eats

Good luck

A year and 3weeks

@babythug,the problem is we have tried all sorts of food for him, once it enters his mouth, he will spit it out, if you give him twice, he'll vomit everything..... It really worries me, cos from 7months-11months he preferred solid food to pap

I really wish there's something that can be done

You say he takes pap well? Let him take a large bowl in the morning. Wait till about 1.30pm try indomie and boiled egg . Stop giving him water at least an hour to meal times. And no snacks whatsoever no matter what. Try again at dinner time with whatever you are having for dinner. See if someone else can feed him for now and avoid making a fuss if he doesn't eat. Just pack the food up after half an hour no matter the quantity eaten.

Lets see if this will work. We will keep trying all till we find a way
