Abbeyunique2: it's still a lie, from my calculation you spent 1.8 minutes per page ( that is if you didn't rest but just read without eating or doing any other thing except your 2 hours sleep), guys do you think it's possible? |
Re: Tell Us About Your Favourite Book by Abbeyunique2(m): 10:20pm On Feb 17, 2016 |
lordseb:1.8 Min per page? #mathematician. well for ur info, when i'm reading a nice novel, food, sleep, girl, sex are always the last thing on my mind. so do ur calc again For future reference, pls refrain from the believe that some things are impossible simply because u can't do or achieve them. it's called poor man mentality. nb: no pun intended, just trying to explain my point. 3 Likes 1 Share |

The wheel of time is very good also, becomes very broad after the 5th book. The Doors of Stone(bk 3 ) might not come out till 2017. Who has read any Gentleman bastards series - Scott Lynch? How did you find it? Abbeyunique2: |

Abbeyunique2:You have gone thus far. Well, actually, the first book of the pre Richard's era is The First Confessor: Legend of Magda Searus. I bet you would without delay go on to devour it. You wouldn't wanna miss out a little on this sweet adventure, would you? Seems you didn't get me right. I meant to say what other quotes are memorable to you minus the wizard's rules. Jeez! This book is richly flavoured with quotes. Should I take down all? Okay. Here goes mine in no particular order - 1. We all can be only who we are; no more, no less. 2. There is no such thing as pure good or pure evil, least of all in people. In the best of us there are thoughts or deeds that are wicked, and in the worst of us, at least some virtue. An adversary is not one who does loathsome acts for their own sake. He always has a reason that to him is justification. My cat eats mice. Does that make him bad? I don't think so, and the cat doesn't think so, but I would bet the mice have a different opinion. 3. ...think of the solution, not the problem. If your mind was filled only with thoughts of why you were going to lose, then you couldn't think of how to win. Then the five characters I find more striking are Richard Rahl/Cypher, Zeddicus Zul Zorander, Kahlan, Darken Rahl and Cara Mason. |

To pick a single book ad my favorite would be very hard. To mention a few of my favorite authors ;Steven James, catherine palmer,Francine rivers, Karen Kingsbury, john green,. Steven James wins the award for crimes/fbi investigation. I hd read other authors before this. But after reading his books, I couldn't seem to read others again. It's like you've tested the best of the best and it's finished, but you aren't satisfied with others cus they aren't simply like it. Enough on this. Just go look for his books, the patrick bowers files(it's a series) I assure you, it's better than James Hadley chase' novels For John green.... Hmmm I don't even know where to group him,Probably in romance and humor.his novels are great, funny, inspiring, etc. Anytime I need a good laugh and a little break from life, I'll read his books. But be careful, some of I'm novels do not have a happy ending. Some titles include looking for Alaska, the fault in our stars(everyone knows this), an abundance of Katherine's, etc For romance, Christian romance to be precise, I'll give it to Francine rivers . She's the author that keeps you awake, turning the pages of her book. Her novels are captivating.her novels include redeeming love(the beesssttt), the scarlet thread, etc Others includes oceans apart, dianne Mills novels, the great Ted dekker, Frank peretti,. BTW, they are all Christian authors. I promised my self to stop reading Mills and Boone, harlequins, novels with explicit sex contents, as one can never be too careful of what you allow into your mind. You can get these books at bookZZ.org 1 Like 1 Share |

I've read lots of books, some being my favorite at various times...but I doubt if any other book(have read or will read) would make me get over "GONE WITH THE WIND" by Margeret Mitchell. It was #epppiiiccc!! What I loved the most was the fact that it did not portray its main character as a perfect figure, she was well faulted to the point of being deceitful and it did not also have the normal fairytale endings most books have. It centered around the American's Civil war, very detailed I must say(over a thousand pages), but every page was worth my energy. Its an old book though, first published in the 1930's. It's a MUST READ. |

I am surprised that no one has yet mentioned James Hardley Chase... These books kept most who graduated from schools busy while waiting for next stage of life in the 1980s and 1990s. 4 Likes |

Wow I can't believe no one has mentioned the incredible George R.R Martin's a song of ice and fire collection ....with the first book titled the game of thrones!!! all the way to a dance with dragons!!...the book is way bigger than the miniature universe they've created in the tv series....with characters like the new targeryan boy... Rhaegar and Elia Martell's son,Ser Jon Connigton,Victarion Greyjoy,Euron and so many others.....i'll advice Grab the books soon and allow your mind soar through Winterfell straight down to the wall, move on to sisterton join manderly at white harbour, travel with Samuel Tarly all the way to Oldtown,Move to Dorne where the new Targeryan dude will raise his banners join Ser connington at Griffin's roost then land finally at westeros and witness the murder of Ser Kevan lannister by Varys so called spiders!!!...Other books worthy of note are of course Harry potter series,Lord of the Rings by j.r.r Tolkien, stormlight series by Brandon sanderson and the name of the wind by Patrick rothfuss |

My favourite book is the Bible, its obvious, isn't it? How I love thy law, it is my meditation all day long! Blessed is the man that standeth not in the way of the ungodly...but his delight is in the law of The LORD, and in this law doth he meditate all day long 1 Like |
