Thanks a lot for your quick reply...I highly appreciate it but please indulge me a bit further...

Are these the entire costs incurred? As in for the doctor, anesthesiologist, et al? Secondly are these discounted prices for self pay or the initial prices quoted to you?

donugapi:

Hospital is mercy medical center.
$1.1k for lab and sonogram.
$6k for vaginal delivery
$8k for cs
Epidural is $1.1k for vag, and $1.2k for cs.

Credit card charges at black market rate .as I used it to pay my bill at WHMC last year @d rate of 220 per dollar when d official rate was 199 per dollar
.i hv diamond bank credit card .so beware

Quote author=shelly23 post=43014454]For the people rich enough to qualify for credit cards, pls go and apply. That's another way to get official rate.
I'm travelling in 2wks and my sister has given me Hers to use. SHe'll be paying back at 199.5 even when I collect cash, the extra charges won't be anything like 370.[/quote]

Thank u Nairalanders, special thanks to chicagomum, Lady G, Modath,Nefertitiram, firstymum, justwise and other mamas and papas here for keeping this thread,. Left Chicago via Delta airline, o hare - Detroit- Paris -PH with my wife, new born, my 3 year old son, thank you all and may God bless Una well well. As we were about leaving Detroit cos we spent only 1hr, one Immigration officer asked us to step aside, his question(s) U came here to give birth, did u inform the embassy, can I see ur hospital receipts and thank God, we have our letter of intent, Hospital Zero Balance and next he said we are good to go. Got my New born Passport, Visa, Birth Certificate and SSN within 1 week. Birth Certificate 5 days Cook County Loop, paid 30$ for 2 copies, Passport just walk in and next day Passport was ready, paid 165$ for such, Nija Visa 2 days, paid 360$ plus 70$ UPS. I love Chicago but one thing with Chicago is accommodation is expensive and again cold. Spent 3200$ for hotel accommodation in downtown from December 26th 2015-Feb 16th 2016. Hospital Bills everything inclusive not more than 6k (CS) with my Zero Balance. God bless Una well well. Wife tried Vbac but failed so emergency CS and the bill still same. VD should not be more than 4k everything inclusive. As for transportation, my hotel accommodation is 6 mins drive from the hospital and 2 mins walk to Passport office, BC and SSN office but God sent a Taxi man, I don't know how to thank that man, he brought foods, groceries, everything we need and also pick us out for a family dinner with his family, drop and pick us to any location without charging one cent. There is also a place u will keep ur kids or child without paying one cent, the place is called safe families, I took my son there for 7 days. Thank u all...I appreciate

But the rest of us never read the story naaaaa.[ grin
justwise:

I have finally read the story about what went on in SugarLand accommodation and my advice to any mother here accepting an offer of accommodation is to be careful and ask questions openly here before taking the offer.

I wouldn't go into details about the sad treatment received by those involved because I have only heard one side of the story.

My sister used it about 2wks ago and paid back 199.5. The extra charge was for withdrawing cash.
Infact it was her boss (she's a banker) who advised her to increase the limit to the max of 20k cos of this dollar issue.

Hmmm b lookig like ds banks have a scam going on. Went to access today anc d frst brnch told me 305 o! Dt il b chtged 214k for 700 dols whch thy claim is their max... not 1k... dsts even after some saucy biatch told me i cnt do moneygram in access unless i received inflow. Truly dump customer service lady with no etiquette at all

D second whch happens to b dr headoffice branch told me dy dnt hv slot for moneygram

Abg how u get ur 265?

what access does is their limit is 198000 per person per quarter, transfer fee of 14,000 and vat of 700. last week, that came to about $960. exchange rate was reviewed over the weekend and this week, it came to $800 per person per quarter. I still did it anyway, cos its much better than current exchange rate of 360 or so; but the senders must have account with them oh. also heard the branch has to have received moneygram inflow for the day before they can do outbound; so you just have to keep checking or drop it with them (if they'll accept).

Thanks

Dr La (WHMC) has started accepting wire transfer. WHMC will not though, so you'll only be able to use it for Dr's fees

I'm currently exploring that option myself. Will give you feedback if successful

Maybe it's. Dollar denominated credit card
Naira denominated credit card is charged at the normal rate which is currently above 280 but the benefit is higher daily limits

For El Paso peeps....i was able to pay all, both Dr and Hospital through form A. Saves a lot of headache, you now know that what you have is for other expenses. Good thing is that if you don't eventually use them you will get a refund

Are u sharing this accomodation for free? If yes, my apologies. If no, then you are helping yourself and breaking rule 6. You are running an enterprise, making profit and advertising free.
Now my issue is not even the loss Nl is posting (afterall @jw una no de gimme shishi cheesy) but the fact that you are codedly cornering folks to your place . Pm me this and that. Come out plain and advertise. By so doing, a burden of higher standard is placed upon u to be fair and nice to NL moms because whatever u do filters back here.
In conclusion, with the above points I hope I have made it clear to u that u are an agent of your two rooms in houston wherein u advertise to people to stay and pay u. I also put it to u that u are well aware of this and that is why you have been plying your market via pm
Do the right thing madam

bbiz:

Madam thanks for your advise but you should check your fact before you say stuff about me like you've just did.
1. I did share my accommodation for free before for and I don't need to share details with you.
2. I did not brake any rules because I do not see any different between me and those other post that says they also need a roommate due to the fact their wife is bored or lonely or they are lonely.
3. Naira land never stated that pregnant woman should not share their space with others either?
4. Or am i been penalized for begin a US Citizen from nija who happened to have a space to share with other pregnant mom?
5. What is the different between us? How many niara land mom's paid for sharing their accommodation space.
6. If i was doing this for money making business, I will not come here because many of you mom's here are very cheap. Why very many are more reasonable.
7. please do not judge me. Pregnancy take 9-10 month to deliver, many choose to come earlier than others dose not mean they are agents of two rooms madam.

@bbiz Try to be honest and open with people, when you came here months ago indirectly advertising your accommodation many members called you out but you denied it but judging by what i know now you did charge people who stayed in your house and it wasn't a good experience.

I am thinking of sending my Couz to Oakbend medical, if she can register on my behalf. Again I don't know how the hospital will react to d transfer.

Once the money is in their account, I will find a way of sorting it with dem.

Please mamas and papas, is it advisable to pay money into hospital that bluntly refuse transfers? Please share ur takes pls. #supaconfused#

Some oyibos are very difficult oh, don't credit them without their consent. Rather, let your cousin go there and get their consent.
