Achilles2:we call it bush dog. Very dangerous but sweet animal, I mean in soup pot or pepper soup. You were very lucky it did not bite you, that animal gives the same treatment to humans that a wild cat would give. |

I don't know whats wrong with Nigerians.... must you kill every innocent animal you come across. The killing of this civet cat has started popping frequently in the FP. The Civet cat and most of this other animals that pop up, are facing extinction. And it seems now, all Nigerians are becoming hunters. They might kill a rare specie and not even know.."no be every animal be busg meat" Pythons are rare and expensive animals.... but Nigerians are not concerned. instead they killed it and left the animal rescued from it to die. Civet play an economical role in our farms and agriculture as a whole. They hunt rodents that destroys farm produce. They are biological and Natural pest control. if you kill them finish "OYO" |

odinese:Did the poor animal attack? No! so why kill it. This animal serves an ecological purpose... the eat rodents that destroys plants. if you kill all of them how many go remain. and if i'm not being attacked by a Python, I'll catch it and release it far away from human dwelling. |

The killer should be sent to jail. What would the killer benefit from eating it, and why in the 21st century are we humans still behaving like animals. It's such a shame and you have the gut to post here on NL. Animal killing animal. I really find this disgustingly distasteful. Ignorance is bliss If this animal was captured live and kept in captivity, the reality is that it secretes glands used in the perfume industry. The perineal gland secretion, civet, has been the basic ingredient for many perfumes for hundreds of years and is still being used today although on the decline since the creation of synthetic musk. African civets have been kept in captivity and milked for their civet which is diluted into perfumes. They can secrete three to four grams of civet per week and it can be sold for just under five hundred dollars per kilogram. Go and google it. The WSPA says that Chanel, Cartier, and Lancôme have all admitted to using civet in their products and that laboratory tests detected the ingredient in Chanel No. 5. |
