Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by feelamong(m): 8:53am On Feb 18, 2016 |
debbydee: Please lets not derail this Treasury Bill thread...I have earlier posted threads for FGN Bonds. Just go thru any of them and most of your questions have been answered there... I will also advise that you also throw in your bid once and get a practical lesson as you can invest with as little as N10,000 in the Monthly Auction |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by thehub: 12:46pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
Hello Fam, I'm a working-class student, willing to commit some funds to investment via TBills but not without better knowledge of the terrain. Here are my concerns/questions; 1. If I commit 200k to the 91 days package by March, does it mean I get #9700 at the end of May? 2. Wth an investment of 200k over 364 days, will I get #17960? 3. If the answer to question 2 is YES, then, why can't I invest the same 200k in the 91 days package four times (quarterly), so I can get #38800 (i.e #9700 x 4) at the end of the year? Thank you. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by unite4real: 1:14pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
thehub: have you ever heard of par annum interest? that N9700 you mention is interest P/A. you have to divide by 4 to get you 90 days interest which is N2,425 1 Like |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by thehub: 2:09pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
unite4real: Hey! Thanks for the info. But that interest is really quite meagre. Best that one invest huge funds over a long period of time. So, does the full interest rate of #17960 apply to 200k over 364 days? |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by unite4real: 2:56pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
thehub: Yes. |

Good Evening all, pls what do u know abt FGN Capital? Was at the bank to put in a bid for Tb, then I was advised to go for FGN capital as it gives better interest. Told them i'll come back next week for it. Actually did that so I come here to ask from my gurus if any1 knows or has invested in it. Thanks! |

Hello everyone permit me to digress a bit Please, I need info about where and how I can change my naira to euro on a very good deal lower than that of the black market rate. I have a conference to attend somewhere in europe in March and this current exchange rate is becoming very discouraging. Everything is double the price and inflation is beginning to show its ugly head already. I started plans for this trip last year and it's saddening to look back now because of our bad policy makers and economy. The euro is presently 405 naira now as against 230 last year. Ive been to some banks but they have refused to sell currencies. Are there places where I could get a better deal? P.S I need coaching on fgn bonds if I eventually cancel my trip.. thank you... |

Pls can I invest 500k in bonds? |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by unite4real: 11:28am On Feb 20, 2016 |
exclusiveoloori: Yes. But make sure your account has between 560,000 to 600,000 Naira depending on the yield in order to secure it, since they have been issuing re-opened bonds. If it's a fresh bond, you will get it at market rate with your 500,000 Naira. For the reissued bonds, make sure your account is well funded above your principal amount. The excess on top is the price you pay to secure the bond. |
