I don't have family in ontario, but I have friends there. Can my friend serve as strong tie? I studied computer science and have 3 years experience in network infrastructure which I guess it's in demand in ontario. How do I go abt registration wit professional body in ontario? Just thinking of a way to find strong tie. Thanks for ur time. .. I appreciate JesusDWay: |

tyketurah: Your chances are dependent on the following factors - age, IELTS score, number of years of work experience and the classification of your occupation in Canada(the qualified ones must fall under Skill Level 0 or type A or B), and evaluated equivalence of your qualification. One and half years work experience might not be helpful overall although it qualifies also, one doesn't know if your occupation falls under the acceptable class as I highlighted earlier(use the link I provided for someone in the previous page to find out). You may use the link below to assess yourself: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp |

noblealuu: Apparently, it's a long term thing however, I must let you know that there's no PR without then having work experience so, you need to factor that in your feasibility studies(how they will combine Masters and working a type of job that can give them leverage to apply for PR. Besides, you guys need to pray and be firm in your decision to be with each other otherwise, circumstances more especially distance and naivety about relationships as I see it in your post, may make situation change(it's a practical scenario I'm giving you, trust me) so, for me, much as you can plan things the way you have touted, I will rather suggest that you apply now instead if you are qualified. You both will sort the marriage thing out later. That's my Noblealuu advice as a journey companion on the way to heaven 4 Likes |

Hello @Zadora and other gurus , I am interested in the express entry and would like to know my chances at a shot at it . I am working for a telecoms servicing company with 5 years work experience . This 5 years has transisted from a technical role to a business role . I have worked in 4 African countries . Married and I have a son . I have a plan of starting masters in Canada by fall of 2017 and my family joining me afterwards ( Plan A )... Please what are my chances with the skilled work permit considering my profile and what is usually the duration for one to be successful ? Thanks guys ! |

Any Veterinarian, please advice on the best means of evaluating transcript with the EAS, since the only professional credential evaluation agency are for the Medical Doctor and pharmacist. If through the other agency, meaning the process is quite different from the Australian system which one needs a certified Australian veterinary board exam for licence. cc: dridowu Thanks. |

Hello house, Wifee and I will be emigrating in August this year. She is pregnant and will be putting to bed at the end of September. I wish we could go earlier but it is not feasible. I understand there is a 90 day wait period before the issuance of the health cards. What can I do? I need help. Thank u. |

Good evening. My wife and I are in the pool with scores of 376 and 367 respectively. We have tried to improve our scores by rewriting IELTS but we still didn't hit the 400 mark and there is no PNP in sight yet. I am 37 while my wife would be 33 in few months time. Her NOC is 1114 while mine is 0122 though I have edited it to 4163. Since we are determined to relocate to Canada along with our children, we are proposing that my wife should apply for an M.sc in Accounting in any province considering the following: affordable cost of living, possibility of me securing a job easily with an "spousal work permit" (hope I got it right) and affordable child care for our children. I learned that she would be eligible for a 3 years work permit after the M.sc and there would be possibility of getting PR subsequently. I also learned that I would be eligible for a work permit while she is studying for her graduate programme. We have 9 and 7 years work experience respectively. My wife's desire is to join the academia since she has completed her Msc in Accounting at a Nigerian University but we feel that starting all over would enable her to acclimatize before pursuing her Ph.d in Accounting and at the same be a less-stressful way of immigrating to Canada. What do you think of the above proposal? Does it look realistic? Would I be eligible for a work permit during the period of her study and the anticipated 3 years work permit that follows? What other ways can you suggest apart from the above? I would really appreciate the input of our gurus@JesusDWay, zandora, superchi, dupyshoo, Tola73, irondome, Etfash, other gurus |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by zandora: 10:59pm On Feb 21, 2016 |
chimaXYZ: Yes there's a 90 day wait but that's for some provinces. You've got a few options though: - Land in another province such as Alberta whereby the health insurance starts immediately then quickly register so that your wife receives coverage, then move to your intended province later. However note that when you move to another province you'll have to register again with that province and wait for the coverage to start according to their stipulated waiting times. - Land in the province that requires a 3 month wait period and take out a temporary private insurance policy that'll cover her for 90 days, however beware that most private insurance policies don't cover pregnant women. - Land in your intended province then pay for her care out of your pocket, this is the most expensive option. - Let your wife give birth in Nigeria before you land. The problem with this option though is that you'll have to inform CIC to add your baby to your application and this might take a lot of time to process. Find below a list of provinces and their provincial health care wait times : Alberta: Immediate coverage after arrival Ontario: Coverage after 90 days British Columbia: Coverage after 90 days Manitoba: Coverage begins on the first day of the third month after your arrival. For example, if you arrive on August 29, August will count as the first month, with September and October as the following two. Therefore, in this case your coverage would begin November 1. Quebec: Coverage after 90 days New Brunswick:Coverage after 90 days Nova Scotia: Immediate coverage after arrival Saskatchewan: Immediate coverage after arrival 2 Likes 2 Shares |

40manlappy: Firstly it is doable but the problem is that she already has a Master's so CIC will be skeptical as to why she wants another Master's again. My advice is for her to apply for a PhD instead to maximise her chances of being successful with the student application. Yes you would be eligible for a spousal work permit. |

With 376 and 367 how did u qualify 4 crs? Did u get up to 67 in fsw eligibility? 40manlappy: |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by 40manlappy: 11:37pm On Feb 21, 2016 |
zandora: Thanks zandora for the insight. What if we are silent on the Msc acquisition? I am thinking this way because she completed the programme as a full-time worker on a very tight and hectic schedule and no doubt, Canadian graduate programmes would be very different the Nigerian system. So I felt starting over would allow her to really be a research student to the core. Besides, commencing as a Masters student should be cheaper for a start, right? I am open to suggestions/ideas. |

There's something I don't seem to understand. pls can someone explain fsw where u need minimum of 67 over 100 and crs where I think minimum is 400. It's like to scale the hurdle of 67 out of 100 is not easy and one can easily get above 400 in crs. Is it possible to have below 67 and still qualify 4 EE? Pls I want to knw d difference btw fsw and crs |

Xploits2204: Why the rather expensive student route when you qualify as a skilled migrant? You can easily migrate without Masters if you consider province sponsorship routes. Ontario would send you a letter of Interest with a CRS score above 400. Furthermore, with your professional, it's likely it may be in demand in Saskatchewan province; you may want to have a look at that province as well. With a good IELTS score(LRWS 8,7,7,7) by you and your wife, and corresponding ECAs of your degrees, I don't think polling 400 points would be that difficult. |
