Your source weblink clearly says with it's own spirit of honesty and uncertainty :

Expressed INTEREST.

This purchase is LIKELY.

Contract MAYBE signed 2017.

When did INTEREST, LIKELY, and MAYBE become a valid purchase order for $55 million Su-34 that has not even been evaluated by NAF ? The Su-30MK2 that was evaluated was evaluated SEVERAL TIMES from 2012-2015 because of same interest, yet it was never purchased.
.

Hogwash!

We are talking about the SU-34, and there's a link which supports my argument. That's the only evidence that's permissible.

Nigeria to sign contract for SU-34 Fighter-Bomber in 2017 with deliveries to commence in 2020

According to Russian media (I got banned for posting the link)

"It was learned that the military leadership in Nigeria
has expressed interest in acquiring
Russian attack aircraft . Conclusion of a contract
the supply of Su- 32 may already be in 2017
along withwith the delivery of the first combat vehicle in 2020 .
Management has set a target for Nigeria
reform of the national armed forces"

*Agaugust, you lost!

till we have confirmed order from Russia.

JF17 + SU34 will be better option for Nigeria currently but the need for SU30 or SU35 will soon be felt.

logically the Su 30 a Multirole fighter that can do many things and also the tactical bombing would be a better choice for nigerian needs (boko harem ect ..) and it cost the same as the Su 34 , plus the su 34 can be used against radar and organised armies with air defense , so logically they will start with the sukhoi 30 first if they want to by russian ! but most important with russia you can equip your plane with what you want ( french technologie ect ... )

Su-30 SM is officially a multi-role fighter for air to air, air to land, air to sea combat all combined, just that it has extras for air superiority like IRST, supermaneuverability, TV camera air optimsed but ground capable. Only Henry keeps calling it air superiority.

Su-34 Fullback is a strike fighter that can also fight in the air to defend itself to a limit, it has extras for air to ground strike like more jammers against enemy air defence, better low ground level NOE flight, TV camera ground optimised but air capable.

However,

Su-34 has no super-maneuverability for close range dogfight, yet it wants to penetrate deep into enemy territory where enemy air superiority jets will rise up to intercept it before it can strike them. It cannot match the superior air maneuverability of Rafale, MiG-29 OVT, F-18 Hornet, F-15E, Su-27, Su-30. When war comes, Su-34 will be begging Su-30 to please escort them into enemy territory or they get shöt down like their Su-24 junior brother of Russian air force that was eaten for breakfast by F-16 of Turkish air force in Syrian war three months ago.

Su-34 has no IRST to detect and fight against stealth jets like F-22 Raptor or stealthy jets hard to detect like Rafale. Hëll, one French Rafale in Chad will intercept and wreck three Su-34 together with one blöw in air to air combat with ease.

Su-30 SM beats the Su-34 in air to ground and air to sea strike range and weapon. Su-30 SM radar has 400 km maximum range and can fire the new Oniks air to surface missile that has 300 km range safely outside the range of the world's best air defence SAM the S-400 that has anti-aircraft missile range 250 km.

The Su-34 radar maximum range is 220 km, and it cannot carry the Oniks missile. It's best air to ground missile is the Kh-59 with range 115 km, the the S-400 SAM will kïll the Su-34 in an air to ground strike role that the Su-30 SM will safely fight and win.

I have not seen any country that buys Su-34 strike without first buying Su-30 multi-role.

Pic....Angolan Su-27. Their Su-30 started arriving, with avionics upgrade done in Belarus.

The Su-34 not need Su-30 escort , he has a good air -air system , a 360° radar , can take all type of missile air-air , air groud , air sea , pods ect ... , can be configurat for Electronic warfare and reco and had a cockpit armour (17 mm ) , and he can take the P-800 Oniks missile (SS-N-26 Strobile) and have 4000 km Ferry range without reflueling !

the su 34 fighter-bomber is designed for tactical deployment against air, ground and naval targets (including small and mobile targets) on solo and group missions in daytime and at night, under favourable and adverse weather conditions and in a hostile environment with counter-fire and EW counter-measures deployed, as well as for air reconnaissance

to read
Since the Fullback entered Low Rate Initial Production some further details have emerged on the configuration of the production aircraft. Polish analyst Piotr Butowski publishing in the German FlugRevue journal, detailed the following configuration for the Sch-141 Kishchnik avionic suite:
Leninetz V004 PESA multimode radar system with nose and tail mounted apertures. The forward aperture provides attack radar mapping, low level penetration modes and conventional fighter multimode air-air functions. The tail aperture in the boom provides a threat warning function.
Ramenskoye RPKB K-102 navigation and attack system, which integrates the cockpit multifunction displays, navigation systems and KSS-1 communications suite.
KNIRTI Khibiny M Electronic Warfare Self Protection suite including the L175V jammer, an infrared MAWS system of undisclosed type, a threat warning and RF surveillance receiver of an unspecified type, and countermeasures dispensers.
Yekaterinburg UOMZ Platan electro-optical targeting system comprising a laser designator and television system.
Weapon payloads comprise a mix of up to eight tonnes of stores. Defensive weapons include the R-27 Alamo, R-73 Archer and R-77 Adder series, with the PESA providing the capability to track ten targets and concurrently engage four with BVR missile shots. The full gamut of Russian air-ground munitions are to be supported, with marketing material including carriage of a pair of Kh-41 Moskit / Sunburn or three Kh-61 Yakhont / Stallion supersonic cruise missiles.

Long term planning is to see higher thrust engines, evolution of the mission avionics, an AESA radar and future munitions integrated.

The cockpit shows the most prominent changes against the developmental design, and now includes a full 'glass' configuration with an array of multifunction displays for the pilot and WSO.

also for manoeuvrability the su 34 have the same base as the Su 30 , the su 27 so he has good maneivrability it's not the same as su 24 serie
see this videos

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btxsJlm8cFg

and for radar you forget that max detection range 400 km is not the same as engagement range and not to the same for air targets , sea targets and ground targets , and changes depending on the target size wink , Bars radar N011M has a maximum search range of 400 km for big air targets and a tracking range of 200 km but in ground The N011 is capable of detecting the group of tanks target to a maximum range of 40–50 km only the same for the Zhuk ae radar

there is no aircraft who had a chance again the S 300 system and S 400 witch is a complete and complexe system with many units and mobile

and to finish if he wasn't good russian army will not command more of it or use it with the su 30 SM in syria georgia , algeria who have the Su 30 mka, the su 30 sm are comming and the upgraded su 24 , have ordered 12 aircraft su 34 in this january so i think the su 34 give some adventage and have particular use .

Former ADC retired Colonel gives rare insight into KDF thinking - I hope his former colleges are on the same page

By: Col. (Rtd) Muturi

The recent attack on KDF troops at Al-Ade in Somalia has come as a watershed for two main reasons. Firstly, our current mission and mandate under AMISOM is irrelevant to the reason that took us to Somalia in the first place. The positional defence posture which we have adopted in Somalia is both inappropriate and incapable of defeating the enemy. Secondly, the enemy we were facing five years ago has mutated in terms of its methods and doctrine.
There has also been an increase in cross-movement of troops, weaponry and tactics between terrorist theatres of war in other parts of the world. In order to resolve the problem therefore, KDF must adopt a ‘Home security’ paradigm, in which deployment will be both mobile and aggressive. They must also utilise our own assets for intelligence, air and sea cover, as well as use technology for intelligence and precision targeting.........

.......... We must deploy close to the border. More importantly we must ‘deploy’ the Kenya population in support of war. The politicians and diplomats have performed poorly in this war. War diplomacy and war politics are critical to success. After all war is diplomacy by other means. And nations go to war in order to talk.......
...........Finally, KDF must use technology, and in particular, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). In as much as the KDF has effectively used these assets for limited border surveillance, we need to step up to acquire the latest weaponized “drones” with night capabilities. This is the way forward for future wars. For example, America, by use of this technology has eliminated more than 500 terrorist commanders in the last one year.

At a time when Amazon is planning to use UVAs to deliver packages to the doorsteps of her clients, we cannot argue that UVA technology is too advanced for us.
In conclusion “The Music is On”. We either retake the initiative or future generations will judge us harshly for dropping the ball, in our time.

Meanwile, Alashabaab 2nd in command intelligence chief taken out by Special Forces. When the news came out, alshabaab claimed he had survived the attack and was still alive, but based on the recent video in which the vow to strike Kenya, looks like they have lost too many fighters, ever since.
And now more details of how he was killed (I have been wishing KDF would change to this kind of strategy of using small specialised units to degrade the enemy instead of large forces who can be seen coming from miles away, giving the enemy enough time to pack bags and leave...to fight another day---- on his terms)

.....Special Forces of the Kenya Defence Forces were deployed to the area in advance and took positions around the camp. This is a tactic KDF has adopted since the attack at its base in El-Adde, Gedo region, in which there were massive casualties on both sides.

After the operation, informers were sent to the area to carry out battle damage assessment and after days of spying, confirmed that Karate was among the fighters killed.

KDF OPERATIONS
KDF was back at it again on February 18. Ground troops raided an Al-Shabaab camp in Sidimo, killing 20 other terrorists, among them explosives expert Maalim Sheriff.
They found 16 AK-47 rifles, six improvised explosives, two pistols, eight rocket propelled grenades and assorted ammunition.
There are several special forces teams scattered in Southern Somalia, where the African Union Mission In Somalia has assigned KDF to operate.
Special forces move in small teams of a handful of soldiers so that their movement is unnoticed by enemies.
The teams are in constant coded communication with the aerial teams, giving their exact coordinates, to avoid being hit during airstrikes.
The military delayed announcing the death of the commander until the information was corroborated on the ground.
Al-Shabaab fighters commonly use aliases to confuse those pursuing them
They lay in wait for hours while hiding in the bush before the Air Force was called in to begin the operation with airstrikes.
The airstrikes scattered the fighters who survived the bombs. But the fleeing terrorists were shot and killed by the camouflaged snipers.
Karate had survived the airstrike and his body guards were spiriting him away in a vehicle, but he was felled by sniper bullets....... http://www.nation.co.ke/news/How-KDF-raid-took-out-Shabaab-chiefs-/-/1056/3087238/-/fht19qz/-/index.html
