Hi all,please i have a concern which i'd love to be addressed. My trip is in a few days, however i previously had hosp & Dr correspondence wt Dr's appointment letter which i got during my trip to d US in December but i recently changed plans to a diff hosp due to proximity to accommodation(about 36mins closer than previous hosp; i am a first time mum n scared abt journeying 1hr30mins to hosp during labor) and price (saving me over $3k). However my mum got all the necessary info for me via phone (as shez based there) and general letter showing Dr & hosp cost was mailed (not emailed) to her. Bcz of this i do not have a direct correspondence wt hosp nor Dr and i do not wanna pay yet as I'll like to visit d hosp n Dr before concluding. Do you think the letter i have would suffice as proof at POE? If not,what do you suggest?

Pls il appreciate all possible advice. Tx

My opinion is dat the POE just needs to be sure you can pay. So i would say carry everyother important item... cash, card etc and then use the previous hospital correspondence (that is ofcos only if your mother cannot scan/mail you d fresh correspondence)

Hello people! Safely in Houston. My trip was mostly smooth. Flew Delta at 35 weeks +. Went to port health at mma to get fit to fly just in case. It wasn't requested for though.

O boy! The journey was long!!! Kept sleeping and waking up, the trip no gree end. Delta has to be one of my least favorite airlines sha...hostesses with plastic smiles, extremely crappy food, no extra perks. Na only the direct flight thing fit make me fly them. Anyway, landed at atl at about 5:15. Had booked wheelchair, so was wheeled to the front of the queue.

CBP: good morning, *scans fingerprints*
CBP: Why are u in the US
Me: to have my baby
CBP: oh *checks something on her system*
CBP: do you have correspondence with any hospital?
Gave her all my prearranged docs...letter from Dr La stating I had paid 3k and had strong ties back home etc, receipt, budget sheet.
She scanned through and asked how much I had. Told her. She asked what I do in Nigeria and then she stamped me in for 6 months

She then asked what kind of food i had cos i had indicated on the immigration form that i had food. Told her a few things like pepper, dried fish, garri, melon (she asked if it was grounded..said yes). She then wrote 1 on my immigration form. The wheelchair guy said we were good to go. Picked my bags from the carousel and headed to agriculture. They took my form at agriculture, asked what kinda food; i said same thing i tokd the cbp, the woman said egusi n i said yes. I didnt mention the noodles or palm oil though. She asked if i had yam, meat, leaf and i said no. Nothing was checked and i was asked to go.

Checked in my bags for the Houston leg and left.

Got to houston and realised only one of my bags was on the flight. Reported and was told the second box was on the next flight. Dropped my addy and was told it will be delivered today. Tracked it online and noticed its been retrieved so im waiting for them to deliver.

All in all, I thank God. A big thanks to all those who contribute on this thread as well. May God grant all our heart desires

Had 9k. I'm nt sure what will be or not be enough; but I'm guessing with 4k n part payment u should be good. U could also have your internet banking on standby so you can show them extra money in your account if need be.

remember the memories especially with the comparison and HOT debate - MIHS vs El Paso...lol even though i eventually settled for WHMC.

@happytbaby lolzz...I had my baby Feb 2014...was one of the first to encourage the Bruce Lee birthing aka travel to where relations live (new York in my case) then port to Arizona in week 37, deliver 3 days after at mihs then take off back to new York about 10 days later... risky ventures one did then but thank God for his faithfulness...
